A group of 7 with a wheelchair and 2 kids. We ate lunch here and didn't stay at the hotel. The service was friendly and welcoming. The food was incredible. We had fish and chips, the batter was so tasty. I ate mine slowly to savour each bite. Highly recommend a visit here.

The Old Ship Aground is a lovely pub and restaurant located on the harbour in Minehead. It is a dog-friendly establishment, and ours was even given a complimentary plate of sausage from the chef! The interior is cosy and nicely decorated, with exposed beams and a nautical theme. The food is wonderful value for money, with large portions. The service was excellent. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and he made sure that we had everything we needed. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the Old Ship Aground and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Minehead.

Great pub, really enjoyed our ploughmans and cider. Have to say how impressed I was with the girls that served us, very polite, efficient, smiling and good at their job. Downsides, we opted to eat out side as it was a lovely day, and the beer garden certainly looked a bit neglected and there was a very noisy chiller fan that seemed to cut in and out about every three minutes, and was quite invasive into conversations, pity really. But had a good meal despite these slight negatives.

Had an amazing meal here last night. My husband and I had ‘The Catch of the Day’,which was Hake on a bed of onions, green cabbage, roasted beetroot and new pots. The flavour was lemony and tasted divine. Our son had the Cod & chips which had been cooked to perfection. Shout out to Rosie who went above and beyond to clean up my sandals for me after I stepped in some dog mess outside☹️

We had an evening meal this week which was very, very poor. Only a very basic bar menu was on offer. The food took nearly an hour to arrive and when it did the battered fish was hopelessly overcooked - nearly burnt. Bar staff were fine and voluntarially offered us a free round of drinks. I suspect that they have lost their chef.

Lovely bank holiday stay at the old ship. Rooms are reasonable size. Although shower was quite small but very powerful and plenty of hot water. We stayed in a double room towards the back but had decent sea view from window. The double rooms at front over looking harbour are very nice with a small balcony which is nice if you have the weather. Breakfast was very tasty but fairly small in comparison to other places I've stayed. Meals were good when ate there again portions to money were ok but not as good as other places we ate for cheaper. But great for dog friendliness and all staff we encountered worked well and very very helpfuland obliging. Would use again especially if coming with a dog.

We booked a table for 8 with a note to ask for additional seating for 2 toddlers but got no reply, I then emailed and phoned several times over 2 weeks to try to ask and also got no response at all. Thankfully the staff could accommodate us and did a fantastic job. The food was mediocre and came from a less than 1 page limited menu. The pub itself was small & loud but full of charm and at the end of Mineheads small harbour. The use of wooden boards instead of plates is always a bug bare in pubs for us.

Lovely traditional style pub in a great spot. We came here for Sunday lunch and had the carvery - would 100% recommend!! Not usually the biggest fan of a carvery, but we all really enjoyed it. Also, big shout out to Rosie, who was super friendly, attentive, and great when it came to my daughter's allergies. Thanks all!

We just got back from a three day break at minehead quay and the pub was a very short walk from are accommodation. The pub had a really friendly atmosphere and the staff were excellent. We had are evening meals which very good. The pub is also dog friendly and as small treats in a jam for them.

Great place on the old harbour away from the main part of Minehead. My heart sank when I saw the Sunday carvery advertised but as it was getting late we called in and were rewarded with friendly service, a warm and comfortable seating are and a delicious meal. On this occasion,it was towards the end of food service, the chef, Don, came to collect diners and took them to the carvery at the back of the pub in a large dinning space, presumably used at peak times. Don was friendly and chatty and obviously took pride in his carvery offering, explaining some of his ingredients and carving a fresh turkey which was succulent and tasty. All in all a perfect Sunday roast. Highly recommended. Better to book, it's very popular.

I had a great stay here. The staff were the most friendly and welcoming team. The pub is in a nice location with a sea view from the window. The food was good and the bed was comfy. Breakfast was included and they made me a sandwich to go which was awesome. I look forward to returning when I am next here for work.

We popped into this lovely old pub on New Year's Day. A warm welcome and open fire to keep you toastie. We ordered ham and cheese ciabatta and I can honestly say that it was the best ciabatta sandwich that I have ever had. Lovely that it came with crisps instead of fries. Would recommend a visit here.

My wife and I came here while we were in Minehead. It's in a lovely location by the harbour, tucked away and quieter than the centre of Minehead. We turned up at Saturday lunchtime without much hope of getting a seat, but they made room for us in the extension at the back of the building. The food was lovely. Quite possibly the best fish and chips I've ever had. The batter was very crispy, the chips were lovely and the portion was huge. They have rooms available, so if we're ever in Minehead, we will definitely be staying with them.

👍👍 A clean and nice restaurant tucked away at the back of the chippy. It wasn't too stuffy or warm despite the frying and cooking being done in the same room. Food was fresh and in good portions. Chips done perfectly to how we like them with lots of flavour. The children's meal of chicken chunks had g...
