We had an absolutely amazing time! The entire experience was just wonderful. My 6 year old thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Venue was incredible, staff exceptional. Weather was a perk too, perfect day. The outside area for intermission with views of DC is fabulous. We will absolutely be back. Thank you for adhering to masking and vaccination policies as well while bringing the arts back into these hectic times.

I love being a member of the Kennedy Center. I joined during the pandemic because I wanted to support the arts and because a friend told me how much they enjoyed being a member. Fast forward a couple years later and I am finally able to enjoy both indoor and outdoor events at the center. The mission of the Kennedy Center really speaks to me and the community events as well as amazing performances throughout the year definitely make the membership worth while. My husband and I attended our first opera this year. We have also attended a few National Symphony Orchestra performances and a members only rehearsal. It was really special to watch the orchestra rehearse and see how the players and conductor come together to perform beautiful compositions. The Hall of States and Hall of Countries are really something to behold as well. There is so much history to learn about. The Reach is another building on the campus that is also full of great historical moments and an active work area for artists. The grounds have an amazing view of the Potomac River as well. There is parking on site for $25 and members receive a $5 discount on parking if you book in advance. We have not tried the on site restaurant yet, but plan to soon. Definitely check out an event and grounds of the Kennedy Center, if you are in the area. You will want to come back for sure. Thanks! :-)

Lives in the DMV my whole life and finally had a chance to come and visit. Brought the wife and kids to a play in the Family Theater. The entire facility is beautiful and is marked pretty clearly which way to go for events. We paid for parking and tickets a head of time so that made it seamless. Several entrances for parking and multiple areas within the building or on the balcony for photo opportunities. The performance was great as well. I only wish there were more restrooms on the main level but I think it helps with crowd control with the way it's currently set up

Lunar New Year 🧧 Lanterns. Beautiful Display and family friendly. During COVID everyone was wearing masks even outside. Recommending you go early to park and although the line was long it moved quickly for how long it was (40 minutes). There was a free station for activities the kids could do. Bring two adults for kids so someone can stay in line while the other one has the kids exploring.

Beautiful performing arts center with amazing friendly staff. Our family loves to attend shows as well as grab some snacks and walk the grounds. Some beautiful views of the river, some monuments and Georgetown. Also 2 gift shops, a cafe, and multiple snack stations. Underground parking also available or you can grab the shuttle which picks up and drops off at the GW metro station.

It is a gorgeous and true home for performing art! The first time I went there was almost 20 years ago. From the first sight, I fell in love with this national art palace. The first impressed thing was the paper cut on the windows. It was designed by Tim Yip, an Oscar winner, the art director of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I am so proud to see traditional Chinese elements were included in this national art center. The hall looked very elegant. I like the introductions of M. Kennedy and the history of the art center. They are very informative. The performances has never disappointed me. “Kennedy Center” is like an endorsement for high quality art performances. The 360 degree patio brings the best view of DC into your eyes. The Watergate Hotel, Potomac River, Georgetown University, Washington Monument, Long Bridges, and even the Capitol Hill, are all included. I’d like to visit later in the Autumn to experience a different view.

Great place, if you are around DC, totally worth it to visit the Kennedy Center, even if you don't go for a performance or concert, there are plenty of nice things to do. There are several auditoriums there, each of them beautiful and greatly decorated, plus the sound system is very good. The design and architecture of the building, the salons, the entrance, the concert halls, etc are great. There is a good restaurant, a very nice ( but expensive) gift shop, and at least one art show. The restrooms are clean, but, Parking is not good, and mostly crowded, especially during the big events.

Our reason for being in DC in February, a show at the JFK Center for the Performing Arts a grand venue with lots to see and do (besides the show!). Stroll the gardens and there are sculptures and other halls to visit. Take a free tour!! Inside there is a restaurant and a cafe, and an exhibit on Kennedy (from their website… “Art and Ideals: President John F. Kennedy is a major permanent exhibit in the massive roof-level Atrium”) that is worth a visit! It’s also free. The show at the Concert Hall was great. Very comfortable seating, though some rows only have one open side… the end of the rows are right next to the wall (so you have to walk past all the people already seated to get to the end of the row). We opted for box seats on the sides. Easy to enter and leave. All spaces are accessible. There are concessions (drinks/snacks) one can purchase before the show. The bathrooms are one floor down and there aren’t many of them. In the women’s room only four stalls and the lines were long. Men bathroom offered one stall and 3 urinals. Long lines formed there as well. Wanted to share one great thing! Our car trip to DC was about 5 hours and when we arrived we discovered that we left our tickets at home. Yeah, those were very fun minutes! After a few attempts on the phone, we reached operator #23 and she was SO gracious and helpful and told us to go right to the main box office and they printed us a new set of tickets. No worries! We had a great time and Mateo Lane was very, very funny!!

We visit there on last 2 days of the Reach Winter Lanterns Festival. It was a huge area filled with lanterns displays celebrating 2022 Lunar New Year, it was so beautiful and bright. They have benches with heater around the open space. The organizer has worked excellent to manage the guests flow!

A Cultural Gem in Washington DC The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is an absolute must-visit in Washington DC. From its striking architecture to the phenomenal array of performances, this cultural hub truly stands out. The center's design is breathtaking, a modern masterpiece set against the Potomac River. Inside, the various theaters cater to diverse tastes, offering everything from classical music and ballet to contemporary theater and jazz concerts. Attending a performance here is a treat for the senses. The acoustics are impeccable, ensuring an immersive experience no matter where you're seated. The artists and performers consistently deliver outstanding shows, leaving the audience in awe. What's also impressive is the center's commitment to education and outreach. Their programs engage with the community, fostering a love for the arts among people of all ages. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable, always ready to assist and make your visit seamless. Additionally, the location provides stunning views of the city and the nearby landmarks. Whether you're a local or a visitor to DC, a visit to the Kennedy Center is an enriching and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend exploring this cultural gem and catching a show—you won't be disappointed!

Top tier performing arts center with immense space to host the most elaborate of shows. It's also a great place to visit on its own merits alone, whether to view the artwork, take an in-depth tour, explore the interactive center, or take a stroll on the massively expansive and impressive terrace with some of the most gorgeous views in town.

The Kennedy Center is an extraordinary venue! My experience there was truly exceptional. As soon as I walked in, I was mesmerized by its grandeur and sophistication. I had the opportunity to witness The Lion King Broadway performance, and it was absolutely awe-inspiring. The staff at the Kennedy Center are highly professional and courteous, going above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcomed. The seating is comfortable, and the sound quality is excellent. G level floor is the opera house on the T level floor houses the restaurant and the KC Cafe, offering cafeteria-style options, though they might be a bit pricey. I recommend eating before you come. The arts and ideals exhibits are open to the public. Stunning view of the Potomac River from the terrace, it’s truly is a cultural hub that leaves a lasting impression and makes any visit to Washington, D.C. unforgettable. Parking is 25$ and located conveniently underneath the building and easy accessible.

My favorite place in the District (and the prettiest view in the city)! I've never had a bad experience. Everytime I go I am awestruck at how beautiful and warm this place is even at night and even in the dead of winter. No finer tribute to President Kennedy or his legacy on American art and culture. No matter what you see here, go see it!

Not much to be said that hasn’t already been said. This is wonderful place to see top tier performances. The stories are amazing. The stages are gorgeous in and of themselves. The safe is very helpful and the gift shop has tons of great keepsakes. You can visit without a ticket and take amazing photos but if you want to see a show it is best to buy tickets beforehand.

The facility is still great for plays and shows. Caught the "Ain't Too Proud" Temptations presentation and it was better than expected. Everyone truly enjoyed it. Only complaint was that the sound could have been better. Things were clear, but it didn't have audio depth (low and mid frequencies). Still an enjoyable place for a show.

Free to visit the center which has interesting and beautiful indoor and outdoor areas. Even on a Sunday night we had no problem finding a performance to view. If using the metro, there are frequently shuttles waiting to bring you, and they run even if just a couple people get on. I want to go back for a musical performance next time.

First time visiting the Kennedy Center and it was a great experience. Staff was helpful in directing the flow of attendees and providing general information. The current exhibit upon entering was a nice addition to the evening. Maxwell and the orchestra were beyond fantastic. My seat was in the 3rd row on the right and the view was beyond what I expected! As the opening night to his concert series, the performance was perfect. This was a no phone event and what a welcomed difference. No views obstructed from people recording all night. Looking forward to more performances at this venue.

The Kennedy Center never disappoints! The staff is always courteous, and the shows are well-curated and executed. The Symphony orchestra, theater, and choir performances are definitely worth every penny. Additionally, the gift shop is well-stocked with souvenirs related to the current shows. If you're looking for a fun holiday activity, seeing The Nutcracker is always a great choice, and the Nutcracker souvenirs are plentiful. Recently, we saw a phenomenal Shakespeare Improv group, and they did an excellent job. With multiple theaters, there's always something to see, and the permanent exhibit on the top floor is particularly impressive. For a breathtaking view, I suggest visiting the Kennedy Center at dawn or dusk.

We took the family to see The Lion King. The venue was nice. The auditorium where the performance was held was the Opera House. There was a great view of the stage from the main floor and both tiers. The show was done well. My only 2 recommendations would be for the sound system to be enhanced and to add more consession / souvenir locations. Often, I had difficulty understanding what the performers were singing. I know the show, almost by memory, but my family, who were not as familiar with the lyrics, found the sound to be a bit challenging. This has not been the case for any of the other event spaces I have encountered there. The lines to get beverages and souvenirs were long for such a short intermission. A location on each floor would be ideal. All in all, we had a wonderful time and look forward to returning to our next event.

Caught a weekend show for Shear Madness, highly recommend both the play and the venue. The best part of the venue is the view of DC and Potomac in the setting sun! Walkable distance from Foggy Bottom Metro station if you like me prefer not to have to drive in the city.

A friend and I attended the symphony orchestra this past Saturday evening. We had a lovely time. The orchestra was spectacular! I would definitely recommend attending any event here. The parking was safe and secure. Easy to navigate in and out of parking spaces. Overall the event venue was clean bright and I felt safe. I would definitely attend an event here in the future.

Arrive early, grab a drink, and walk along the roof top. Perfect way to start the evening looking at many views of DC. Masks are required for the theater.

Our visit to the Kennedy Center a few years ago is one of my fondest memories. Attended a performance of Mendelssohn' violin concerto in E minor, with Hillary Hahn as the soloist. A near-perfect experience, acoustically and visually. A striking venue. Walking distance from the Watergate (also highly recommended).

Saw the Nutcracker and Celtic Woman. Nutcracker was in the Opera House and Celtic Woman in the Concert Hall. Included photos of the Circles Lounge in the Concert Hall. A local group, the District Irish Academy, performed before the Celtic Woman. A great place to spend the day or evening. Please check a performance out, we think you will enjoy it.

Beautiful! It’s been 45 years since I visited The Kennedy Center. I attended a Christmas Celebration on Tuesday, December 05, 2023 at 8:00 pm in the “ Concert Hall”. The production was presented by Alfred Street Baptist Church and Worship Arts Ministry called,”Do You Hear What I Hear?” I had seat no. TR2, F, 23, Door 2 , BREG , Tier 2. I loved the performers, musicians, dancers, orchestra, singers and Al. Surprise guest(s) included, recording artist and Grammy winner, YOLANDA ADAMS and Sean Tillery and others! Awesome production! Great sound! Good seating! Nice parking $25. My ticket was just $45.

We had an amazing time touring this national treasure. The staff, from the security guards to the information desk is friendly and genuinely glad to welcome visitors. Mary was a wonderful guide and made the experience so much fun. The tour is free, on-demand, and flexible according to the guest's interests and time available. Be sure to check out the new JFK arts exhibit. There is parking available in a parking garage at the Watergate Hotel (Yes, that Watergate Hotel) next door.

I’m a first time subscriber to multiple seasons and I unfortunately misunderstood the seat assignment instructions due to a disability. I reached out to their accessibility office for assistance and they responded right away by connecting me directly to their subscriptions team. The team member who assisted me thoughtfully considered seating options that would be appropriate and comfortable for me given my circumstances, offered a few selections, and specifically described the seat locations so I could make the best choices. I actually ended up with a reduced rate as the seats I needed ended up being a bit cheaper and I was promptly refunded. I was very impressed with the Kennedy Center team! They were extremely helpful. Picture is from my last visit to the symphony.

Touring the Kennedy center, Art and Ideals exhibit before an event or as a primary visit I highly recommend. It's delightful reading and the easel self portrait is such a dynamic fun Interaction..with how you look in many colors.

Recently attended a show here. The venue is wonderful! Parking is convenient. So much inside to see and do. We brought my mom in a wheelchair and we were assisted by a Kennedy Center employee named Velma. Velma was beyond amazing. She escorted us to our seats, checked on us at intermission and came back at the end and pushed my mom's chair and guided us out of the theatre, into the elevator and right to our vehicle. She made the evening so stress free. The whole night was magical. I love this venue!

A true home for the performing arts, the Kennedy Center has numerous stages from the Opera House to a black box theater and everything in between. Created for DC residents and tourists alike, the Center brings or originates amazing shows, events and workshops. It’s both the institutional house for the National Symphony Orchestra and the place that has daily free shows (of all types) at 6pm. It’s truly got something for everyone, and with the recent addition of The Reach its uhm, reach has broadened even further! You can never go wrong with the KC. Highly recommend visiting on a random day even if you’re not going for a show: having just celebrated 50 years, the center is proud of its history and showcases it among other revolving pieces in its vast and airy halls. Check out the terraces (ground level and “terrace” level) and enjoy sweeping views of the city. A true gem in the nation’s capital!
