Best staff, atmosphere, and sushi in Utah! Their ever changing innovative menu has something for everyone. Hard to please both my wife and I with sushi since we've been to Japan.

GREAT! This is the best sashimi I have ever had in Utah. The texture, it melted in my mouth, and the temperature served was BOMB. Mckenna was my waitress and she naked it. And trust me, I have been to Japan and Okinawa where there's a lot of pride in fish. I would gladly come back again.

We have always seen massive lines outside of this restaurant. So we decided to give it a shot today and now I know why there is massive lines!! I ordered the Avalanche and Sunset rolls and my Wife ordered the Bento box with teriyaki chicken and California roll. WOWZA!! Everything about this place is five star, SUSHI, atmosphere and service. Give it a shot, we also just learned that they do take reservations; I would highly suggest that you call ahead especially for their dinner service.

Wide selection of novel and standard sushi, sashimi, and nigiri offerings. Server is was knowledgeable, prompt, and bubbly. Who knew that Ogden had great Sushi!?

The service was fantastic. They even brought water out for my dog. The sushi was so delicious and fresh. The menu is a refreshing twist on sushi. Everything was perfect!

People, treat yourself. The peanut butter cream was lovely. Coconut crunch was really good. The cheesecake was really good. Have the hot lava sushi, and apparently, some fella told me to try spoons next time I'm there. Not sure what that means, but he said it takes a sophisticated pallet to appreciate them, so hopefully I'm sophisticated enough to appreciate them, the next time I'm there. The cucumber juice was tasty! The teriyaki chicken was freaking beautiful.

Follow me @onerisbarett on Instagram ————— What’s up my fellow Yelpee’s, Googler’s and DMV’er’s! First time visiting/dinning at this place with my work team and I just want to say that service was outstanding. I’d like to give a shout-out to Natalie and her trainee for excellent waitress delivery. Everything was how we expected. Thank you ladies! 🙏🏽💪🏽🥳😎

My boyfriend and I had a date night here to celebrate our one year anniversary and had Jessica as our server. She was absolutely stunning! ✨11/10✨ couldn’t ask for a better server!! The sushi was so darn good neither of us could stop talking about it! Easily one of my top 2 favorite sushi locations 💕

I've heard of this place from some friends of mine and finally decided to try it out with my wife for a fun Friday night date. Sushi is the best in Utah - the rice is cooked perfectly and the ingredients are all very fresh. The miso teriyaki salmon is also very delicious. Their cheesecake is incredible and I'd come back just for a slice of their cheesecake. Their sake flight had all 3 wonderful smooth flavors. The service was very professional and timely. We didn't wait more than 10 minutes to get our food. I believe our appetizer was ready 5 minutes after we ordered it. I'll definitely come back and try their other dishes. Best sushi bar in Utah.

By far the best sushi I have had in the ogden area. I tried most of the weekly menu and it was great! I tried the Drunken Oyster. We will say it was interesting, but what was expected from the ingredients.

Great sushi, excellent atmosphere and amazing service! I brought my wife here for her birthday and I was impressed. We had dinner on a Wednesday evening and the place was starting to fill up, our waitress was great at giving us suggestions. A wide selection of drinks, I liked the Rooster’s craft beers. The cheesecake was the highlight of the night, we almost ordered one to go. Will come back again!

The food was excellent with some exceptions. Only thing for me was the prices seem expensive for such nontraditional rolls. Specifically the sunburn roll was underwhelming and I thought it was a close spin off of a tootsie maki roll, but to me it was bland.

$14 for this ? It’s missing rice . Tona used to be the place but they’ve gone down hill for sure . Last time I came we waited an hour at lunch time to get a roll. It was so bad . I don’t think I’ll be coming here anymore . They are overpriced as it is but this roll is tiny compared to what it usually is. . The first two pics are my roll , the third is what they’re supposed to look like .

Ordered gyoza, bacon bubble gum, rainbow roll, miso soup and shasimi combo. 1st 3 were excellent but the shasimi was lacking freshness. Plating was interesting

Excellent Sushi! I haven't had such an amazing time in a very long time! The service is excellent and also quick you'll have a wait to get a table however due to it's popularity.

Probably some of the best sushi in Utah. Granted, it's not cheap. We were probably $120 for two people after the tip. but it's still our favorite sushi place to go to in Utah, and probably pretty much anywhere in the Midwest. Plus, historic 25th Street is pretty incredible in downtown. So the location makes things pretty fun as well.

I had a really good time here at Tona, the service was a bit on the slow side. But I understand from them opening up to the public full time as it was expected to be busy. The sushi was very good! I sometimes have a very hard time finding sushi that doesn't need soy sauce for flavoring. I got the brad, spider, jack, blackjack, orange tiger and a few others. All were very good in taste I didn't have a problem with any of them. Service 4/5 Atmosphere 5/5 Taste & Food 5/5

I worked in the restaurant industry for years and, unfortunately, am very used to being let down by service and quality when I eat out these days. Tona was a great surprise and did not disappoint. Coming from a coastal city with lots of fresh seafood, I was definitely wary of eating sushi in the middle of Utah! We walked in with our luggage, straight from the airport, and they said, "Welcome to the best sushi in the state!" The friendly and attentive service continued through the whole dinner. We got there late and were the last ones to leave, but we never felt rushed. Everything we ordered was excellent quality. I'm gluten-free, and they easily accommodated me. I highly recommend the salmon belly as well as the oyster shooters, but everything we had was great. We even went back for lunch a couple of days later. If we make it back to Ogden, we will definitely be back.

Great sushi experience! The waiter did a great job helping us select from their sushi rolls and we enjoyed the variety. It was a little more expensive than other sushi options, but the quality and taste were wonderful. I would be happy to dine here again!

One of my favorite places to go to... ever! Each dish is its own experience. The presentation is spectacular, and sometimes I can't help just sitting back and closing my eyes whenever I take a bite. The space is always clean and sleek, but it's just a bit too cramped for my liking. Outside of the private seating, the tables are very close together and it's always busy. That's fine though, their stupendous sushi is the reason they're so popular!

Best sushi in Utah, no seriously, it’s the best. Get the Jack and the Sweet Pea. Signature rolls and they are fantastic. Ask for the luxury of Jordan as your server, you won’t be disappointed, he’s AMAZING!

Tona is also always amazing. We love how much the staff loves working here and it makes the experience that much better. I feel the price point is a bit high for what you get, but the fish and veggies are always top notch. It can get to be very loud when crowded and can make it hard to have a conversation at your table.

Definitely a place to go when you are in town. We did a walk-in with my daughter and waited a good time to be seated. Emma took good care of us by taking us to the sushi bar since the restaurant was packed. Our Waitress Cindy did a top notch service while the food served sometimes by Sushi chef Jom was absolutely fresh, delicious and well presented. I think is better to make a reservation before you step in, the main host Karen is not good at all working in the hospitality industry.

I went for a quick lunch by myself. I was greeted immediately, and everything was just lovely. I ordered a Salmon bento box, and it was delicious! The salmon was cooked perfectly, the salad was delightful, the rice was tasteful, and I would order it again in a heartbeat. The miso soup was good. I overall enjoyed the experience.

Sushi was not good on our last visit compared to what we’re used to from Tona. The ingredients tasted old or like they had been sitting out. There was almost no rice on the roll so it just tasted like rice paper and there was half the eel that we typically get on the caterpillar. It was 1 star experience but giving three because it has been wonderful in the past. Hopefully they take action as their prices make it really easy to go somewhere else if the quality isn’t there.

The sushi here was absolutely delicious! I’m looking forward to coming back here. The service was good and so was the atmosphere.

This is the best sushi place! We got our food fast and there were great recommendations. We sat at the bar and got to watch the sushi being made. As a first time coming here we were super impressed and will definitely be back. The sunrise is super good. The lemon balances everything However my favorite roll and I 100% recommend is called the coconut crunch. It has pineapple in it and I honestly can't put in words how good it was. They brought it to us and after that first bite. It was gone! I definitely recommend this sushi restaurant!! Below are some pictures of the food we got.

The food is always amazing! We find if we go on weekends there can be a very long wait. Tonight there was a 2 and a half hour wait to be seated and then we waited 15 minutes in between rolls. You can't go wrong with anything you order, the cheesecake and green globe are a must!

  • 5/5 Clayton B. 1 year ago on Google
Probably the best sushi you can get in Utah. The food is amazing and the quality of the fish is unmatched by any restaurant in the state. This place is always busy for a reason, so definitely get here early on the weekends (no reservations taken) or get a reservation for the weekdays. I haven't had a roll I don't like here and don't miss out on the cheesecake for dessert.

Fantastic food and great service. It gets busy so plan ahead. It's a bit pricey but worth it for a nice night out here and there. We love the Jack roll and nigiri salmon, blue fin, and yellow tail. The ocean trout was also pretty good. The Blue Fin spoons were very different but very good.

I've been here a few times and always left satisfied. It's not cheap, but the food is incredibly high quality. Wait staff is polite and can explain the menu. I highly recommend Tona Sushi Bar and Grill.

Tona is the best place to get sushi in Utah! The atmosphere in great, and of course the food is top notch. We have tried many dishes in the past and everything is great! The cheesecake though.....will blow your mind!

Never thought that I would say the best sushi I’ve ever had was in Ogden Utah! But there it is, I might call myself a sushi connoisseur and hands down best sushi I’ve ever had. Service was great even though it was busy. Jordan our server was excellent! If you enjoy sushi try it out, and order things you don’t usually order, you won’t be disappointed.

This is the Best sushi we have found from Payson to Ogden. We make the drive from Utah County for the great food. The food is fresh, the service is great, and it’s a great place to eat with your family. It is super busy on the weekend, so get there right when they open to get seated.

Hands down the best sushi experience north of Salt Lake City. My default place to go to get my sushi fix.

  • 5/5 Katie S. 2 years ago on Google
I've had sushi all over the USA and Tona is some of the best. The service is great and the freshness of the sushi cannot be matched anywhere. If you're really, truly into sushi, always get the chefs Nigri sampler and ask your server for recommendations. Their specials are always worth it. Best place in Ogden!
