I would give this school no stars, if I could. Other reviewers have noticed the high turnover rate among teachers and have accurately pointed to the principal as the source of the problem. However, the school itself was established on a flawed concept that we should try to teach business to young students. As the principal tries to implement this silly philosophy, all they do is instill greed in the minds of the innocent. Children should learn a few more important things before they learn the ugly truth that money rules in this world. The principal gets rid of teachers who don’t fit into the mold of WASP promoters of a model that has the potential to destroy everything that is good about America.

Some of the teachers are great... Some are not, most of the Jr High would agree with me. The principal is not very good at all. I got to say, most everyone that leaves this school is because of her. There was one time when the principal was gossiping about my mom, to another teacher. My mom over heard and was NOT happy. I am a student who goes here.... But wont be attending here for 9th grade. And another thing I have to say, is that the dress code is unnecessary. Buisness or not, we should be able to express ourselves. We shouldn't have to be forced to wear collars. We aren't even allowed to wear hoodies. And I am pretty sure, that buisness owners wear hoodies, or shirts with no collars once in awhile. Speaking of buisness, they say this is a buisness centered school. They don't speak or teach about buisness as much as they claim. Sure theres highmarket... But that is the one thing buisness like of this school. We were forced to do it for our grade.

We were new to Utah in 2014 and didn't know any better than to send our children to the local public school. My youngest had a terrible year and I cannot say anything nice about that teacher. That being said, we are into our 2nd year at HMCS and could not be more pleased. My children are thriving in the school, they both love their teachers. My oldest is in jr high and loves classes, even with the intro of the new block scheduling this year. I do wish they had more physical education, for older grades it is only part year; for younger students it is once a week which works for them because they still have multiple recesses. I think that is my only complaint. The administration is excellent, and when I've had any need for a meeting or anything they have been responsive and supportive. The PTSO is great, and actually wants and needs your help. You are required to have a certain number of volunteer hours per family, but there are so many opportunities to volunteer it is not difficult at all to achieve.

HighMark Charter School is a good school. The education system seems to be on point and the school feels like a safe environment. The teachers are kind and make sure students understand their schoolwork. The sports teams are fun and Highmark is all about school spirit. The assemblies are enjoyable and great to attend. HighMark is a business Integrated school that has good standards and keep the students on point. This school offers a store where you can buy snacks and other things there. Since Highmark it not a big school, it is easy to get around to your classes and hard to get tardies. This school also offers good classes such as Spanish, Musical classes, Theater, FACS, and more. We also focus more on technology compared to paper. So most of our work is digital making it easy to access class work online.

Highmark is a smaller school so there is a more personal relationship between the students and the teachers. Students get more help and attention from their teachers, and it’s easier for the teachers to answer questions. Highmark offers so many sports and electives in Jr. High which I think is cool and so fun. This school goes from grades k-9 so there is a wide variety of students, and so much learning.

Highmark is a school of business. Business is constantly involved in all our work. The teachers are nice, and the grades go all the way from K-9. Educationally, Highmark Charter School is at a good standpoint for education. No one is afraid to ask for help if needed. Not only that, but if you’re new, it’s easy to make friends.

I've gone to Highmark Charter School for 7 years, and I have enjoyed being there for most of them. I can say that all of the teachers are respectful, helpful, and friendly, and if they aren't, the principal does an outstanding job of removing them. Even in loving Highmark for most of the time I've gone there, I have a few complaints. One of them being that the school events for the junior high are possibly some of the most annoying things I've had to attend. I appreciate all of the work that the staff and student government puts into them, but taking time out of our advisory period to learn dance moves is highly unnecessary. I know that the school is rather small, and I know that this most likely won't change, but I wish there were more electives. And lastly for some of the teachers in the elementary (Or so I've heard form my younger sibling) need to find better ways of disciplining the class. I understand that recently they have implemented a new way of enforcing rules in the class, but frankly they don't seem to be working. If anything I've heard more people laugh at the new rules than respect them. But all in all Highmark is a great school and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is or will soon be starting junior high.

Highmark Charter School has a great learning environment. The teachers and administration are always there to help you. Each class is fun and full of learning and growth. The lunch program is unique, and the food is delicious! The business application is a great way to prepare students for future jobs and careers. I rate the school a 5/5 stars.

First off, this isn't Amy Cooper, I am her son Zander. I have attended Highmark Charter School for 3 years or all of Jr High. In my time here at Highmark I have had so many amazing experiences. I personally think that all of the teachers in this school are more than qualified to teach at this school. I have been challenged here and really feel as though I earned my grade. I also found Highmark’s business integration to be a great learning experience, and from the business integration I have started my own successful business. The only problem I have found is that Highmark is a small school and that can lead to social boundaries among peers. However, all in all I think Highmark is a great alternative to any mainstream school.

Highmark Charter School is a good school. It is better than most schools. Yes, is has its ups and downs, but what school doesn’t? The lunches are great, and it is a business school so students will be more prepared when they enter into the business world. It is easy to navigate, and the teachers try to help the students with what they need the most help with.
