When I got there I was exhausted and tired and for the first two days all I did was sleep and not participate (I just couldn’t get myself to do it). I woke up one morning and decided to go to breakfast with everyone else Lara says “only coming out for food not therapy?”. Just literally ruined everything. I started to cry and just went back into my room. I have been there a handful of times and this certain staff member was always kinda snobby like that. I rate an overall two stars because some of the staff lack empathy. They don’t realize that they get to go home to their families and call there parents if they really wanted to. At the end of the day we aren’t there problem and we are treated accordingly. But the therapy was helpful, good lessons and everything is well planned out. But the staff needs more humbling

The pediatric inpatient unit is mostly great. My kid really got the help she needed. Im giving one star just because I noticed some concerning interactions between my daughter and one of the staff named Larry. Honestly it was downright creepy. I don't know how well they vet their staff but this one clearly needs to go. While visiting I saw Larry inappropriately interacting with many of the female patients. It is incredible unprofessional and upsetting

Didn't feel safe or cared about there and I'm pretty sure I got PTSD from the whole thing. The food was pretty good though and there were some patients there that made the whole thing a little better. Emma and Chance (and someone else with blue hair but I don't remember her name) were the only ones who seemed to care and would help talk me through my panic attacks while everyone else just left me alone which wasn't safe. Larry and Kylee were very condescending to me during my panic attacks and passive aggressive the rest of the time. I'm glad I got out.

Horrible experience, Horrible stay. I showed up in the middle if the night and they did the intake process. They couldn't give me my insomnia meds or approve my c-pap machine so they showed me to my room and let me have one of my books so I could read since I knew I couldn't sleep. Couple hours later a nurse comes in my room and yelled at me to go to sleep. I told her I couldn't but she wouldn't listen. She took my book and shut off the lights. So I layed there in the dark for hours tell morning. In the morning they had to redo my entire intake because night crew didn't record any of it. I met with my Dr and the support team and the doctor straight up told me I don't belong there and she was going to release me. I was also walking with a walker because they said i couldnt use my cane in the unit. She told me i shouldnt be relying on the cane or walker to walk. They didn't release me that day so I stayed the day and the Dr did not put my meds in the way they were supposed to be. That night the staff refused to let me have my c-pap because the Dr didn't write an order for it and the Dr didn't prescribe all my night meds, so the one I really need for pain was absent and I didn't sleep well from my pain and no c-pap. The next day I met up with the Dr again and she said I could go the next day. She brushed off my feelings like she didn't care. I asked her to let me have my c-pap and she said no. I have sleep apnea and my airway collapses 15 times an hour! So that night was the same ordeal. The next day, release day, I had a sever dissociation and self harmed, the Dr didn't care and released me. I was obviously not ready to go and she didn't care. Guess who was sent back impatient a couple days later, me. And I requested not to send me there. They are horrible. I don't remember the Dr's name but she was a short Asian lady

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE! My daughter was here for a week for treatment several months ago but just recently came to me to talk about an experience that made her feel unsafe and creeped out by a staff member named Larry. The situation happened when he was alone with her in her room and he was apparently very creepy. She's 14! Needless to say, I will be reporting it. For the safety of your kids, stay away.

I spent a day 1/2 here. Even though it is a mental hospital I felt like I was losing my mind. A good 90% of the staff were good and kind to me. The psychiatrist though well I would give him a 1/10 no bedside manners whatsoever. My therapist I think his name was Matt he was amazing đź‘Ź. I remember some of the staff were even funny I saw a tech walking around with a pee bowl on his head. Trev is great too he was the check in dude. If I had to get readmitted in a mental hospital I would choose this place in a heartbeat Also another downside beware if you have breathing problems when I was in the waiting area thing waiting to be admitted and go into my room a lady doctor person came up to me and told me that if I had an asthma attack that I would be stuck having it because all the meds were being used on covid patients well I'm sorry but if I have an asthma attack do you just want me to die???? Edit : I have been in this hospital an additional two times and both times it was overall okay. Last time I was in I was stuck in my room because I had COVID so it was really boring and I didn't get much help but that's ok at least I was safe

I need to give credit where it is due. Malinda L and Amanda K were angels that helped calm the beginning and set me up for success. Dr. McPherson was extraordinary. Malinda L, Amanda K, Madeline, Mike, Yadhira, and Janelle were awesome and amazing! I am so thankful to each one of them and the parts that they played to help me. I gave 4/5 stars because there was an issue with the cafeteria and one of the ladies that took my blood. Other than that, I highly recommend this place for getting the help you need.

I went for a crisis period and it was the last time I've been to any psych ward since! :) I didn't have the best time with the staff or other patients, but my psychiatrist was very nice and so was the receptionist, though the food was just straight up difficult to eat

I called to try and get help for my son. He was in an Intermountain facility in Boise and was discharged while having an adverse reactions to Invega. Instead of switching medicines, they treated the symptoms of the reaction with more pills and discharged him on the Invega shot. It lasts a month. He is still hearing voices still paranoid and delusional.. I called this facility to see about arranging to transport him down to Salt Lake for treatment. The lady on the phone was absolutely apathetic. She had the manner of a snake. Cold, almost snide and not helpful in anyway. If I'm driving 400 miles and can't arrange something in advance, it seems ridiculous. Then I learned this is also an Intermountain owned facility. Local counselors have spoken directly to the Intermountain Invega problem they are seeing in the community of people who have been hospitalized there.. Basically giving people the shot and pushing them out the door.

This is the most awful facility. My 9 year old niece was admitted by her mother that can’t handle her and wants to control her and cut out my brother. The staff won’t listen to my niece nor anyone in my family to understand that my niece doesn’t have actual problems and her mom is the one that needs help. They refuse schoolwork for her and won’t let her play. The staff doesn’t listen to concerns and groups all kids together when making assumptions about their mental health. They have her on such a high dose of medications that she isn’t even herself anymore. What an absolutely disgusting excuse for “helping children.” Please try other things with your kids before committing them to a facility that only wants to make money from the state and they will keep kids committed to keep tax payers paying! As an aunt all I can do is sit by and watch as they torture my niece.

My daughter was there. Most of the staff are great. Dr. Hurst is fantastic. Very well structured. They do have strict rules for the patient's safety. Very nice rooms with pretty good food. I was very happy with my daughter's care; I felt she was in a safe environment where she could learn skills to help her cope with her mental issues. So very grateful for this facility!

I brought someone there yesterday that I explained to the gal who answered the door was having a mental breakdown and the doctor had called ahead. She gave us a they didn't let me know, stared at the person in need and was the most unhelpful place I have ever seen. I am a victim advocate and would never take a victim there again. Wow what a horrible useless experience that was!!!

I am writing this review for everyone that has been in a crisis. I have been in the mental health field for over 5 years. I am severely traumatized from my most current stay and my first visit two years prior. I have a photographic memory and I recall how they treated me like I was an animal and little girl. I am in my 30s. The jargon the staff use is absolutely not okay. There are some great nurses and staff. I was handcuffed when all I wanted was help. I stayed in the most locked down facility, which restricted me from any form of therapy. The psychiatrics and staff literally treat you like you have to be perfect in order to leave or get "released". I say released because it is literally a form of jail. I am from out of state and have received more help from myself than this "behavioral health unit". I say behavioral health unit in quotations because I asked a Psychiatric Technician why she is so afraid and jumpy, she responded with "because I am in a Psych- Ward." The staff are NOT trained. Period point blank. I had to help my peers with a lot. If you want the best treatment for a crisis/ intangible sickness, please, DO NOT go to this facility. I am finding a lawyer for the amount of scaring, myself, and others have experienced. They just medicate you so you sleep all day and the untrained psych-techs talk about patients and are on their phones all day. The best place in Utah to go for a crisis is U of U, formerly Uni. Thank you for whoever reads this all. I have more to say but I am saving this for my case.

I went to the crisis center needing emotional support. I was going through a medical health crisis and was jacked up on an insane amount of Prednisone and other medications. These medications made me feel crazy. I was already having anxiety and panic attacks from the whole medical ordeal, but the medicine made everything so much worse. I got checked in, and my husband was not allowed to come in with me. Ok fine. Shortly after that the therapist, who seemed extremely annoyed for some reason, raised her voice and asked "why are you here?" It made me feel like a burden and did not help the situation at all. I wanted to leave, but they would not let me. I did not know this was the protocol. I called my husband and he was irate. We were not aware this would happen, and I feel they should have made us aware of this while we were checking in. The nurses were treating me like a five year old, and talking down to me. They let me go like 2 hours after checking in. Horrible experience, but i gave 2 stars because I learned one coping mechanism while there.
