Our server was very friendly and gave good recommendations on food/drinks. We arrived near closing time/late in evening and the place was packed on Thursday night. Hostess was not very friendly and the table we were sat at had not been cleaned. When we asked for it to be wiped down she rolled her eyes and said "it's the table" not dirt. The check and garbage was on there when we sat down so it was obvious it had not been cleaned. Aside from that, the rest of the time was well. The food was hit and miss. The chowder was delicious. The fish n' chips was a bit dry and disappointing. The cocktails were great. Overall, 3.75 stars for this experience but I'd be willing to try them again.

Stopped here for lunch on a Sunday, definitely recommend trying the seafood chowder...it is chunky and creamy and is delicious. The staff at the bar were great and made great cocktails. Stopped here again on a Monday night and it was so busy. Open bar seating...for dinner might want to get here early to make sure you don't have to wait.

This place probably is the only restaurant open that late around. It is open until midnight at Saturday, which is amazing for a lot of people who arrive from a late night flight. The foods here are pretty delicious. We loved the pizzas we ordered which are artichoke pizza and Sicilian pizza. The beef stroganoff is good, the chop salad is good. And the dessert we got - The PB pie is super yummy! We also enjoyed their complimentary rye breads, warm, soft and tasty. This bar also serves nice professional cocktails. It is a place worthy to check out.

If you're looking for a small plate or a full dinner then Fletcher's has your order. Fletcher's has plenty of seating and a small bar. You won't find loud music here, so you'll hear everyone at the table with ease. This isn't exactly a sports bar, so if you want to watch the game then sit close to the bar. If you're staying at the Captain Cook Hotel then Fletcher's is a great choice for an inexpensive meal with no strict dress code. If this review was helpful please click the Like button. Good food, great place, great atmosphere. They don't do reservations, first come, first serve. The drinks are good, and the food is great. I've been here twice and haven't had a bad experience yet. It does get busy on the weekends, so make sure you get here early. It's an open kitchen, so you can see your food being made (depending on where you're sitting). Not that fancy of a place. This means you'll see people wearing nice clothing, but the next table is wearing AK Tuff and jeans.

Listed as an Italian restaurant, but has an English Pub/Bar feel to it. Most of the patrons are possibly from the hotel so it's really busy during peak summer season. Come early for dinner because seats fill up fast. There are some nice beers on tap. Ordered the grilled ribeye, which was done medium-rare perfectly. It was juicy, great tasting with a slight char, and had the right balance of fats to give it that umami. Only fault I could find was it was a tad salty, but not over-whelmingly so. The sides of broccoli and truffle mushroom risotto was done nicely too. Couldn't resist dessert and had a mud pie. Enjoyed that as well. Overall a great place to have a nice meal and drinks, prices are reasonable. Service is prompt.

Great option for my last and rainy day in Anchorage - entrance is inside the hotel. I had the soup of the day (gumbo) that was delish, spaghetti meatballs on point and the creme brulee. My server was also nice, attentive and friendly.

I ordered the seafood chowder as an appetizer and the seared halibut entree for a meal. The seafood chowder was delicious, served with warm bread and butter 5/5 The seared halibut with chimichurri was served with asparagus and fingerling potatoes. For the price I felt the serving of fish was a tad on the small side at first impression . That aside, I was full when I finished. The fish was perfectly cooked and delicious. Asparagus and fingerling were outstanding 5/5 The service was top notch 5/5 Will return

So I got the Salmon Dinner and it was raw. We also had to get up twice to ask for refills husband had to get up too. To order a drink. Their was several people standing around. When I told him it was raw he acted like I was in the wrong which made me really uncomfortable. Won't be going thier again.

I wasn’t staying here during this time. It’s a nice upscale place to eat & get a few cocktails. I’ll come back again to drink. It’s like a 2nd to Simon & seaforts. Very professional & attentive.

Absolutely delicious. Cocktails and entrées were all fantastic, and local craft beers by the pitcher is an awesome option. Prices were more reasonable than we expected as well. Very glad we stopped in.

Had the steak and it was really good. The whole dinning experience was very good. From the door to the table. Good job! Can definitely recommend the steak here. One of the better I've had so far!

Delicious food and great staff. Their seafood scampi, pizza, and tacos are my fave. Another place for my husband and I to visit again!

Really tasty halibut today in fish and chips and sandwich. The seafood chowder is excellent full of fish and clams. Food quality and quantity is good. Service is good.

We had a late dinner here after arriving at the Captain Cook Hotel. Even though it was quite busy, our party was seated right away. Our server was a great guy who was courteous and friendly. We ordered the Chicken Noodle Soup, Spaghetti with Meatballs, and the Rueben Sandwich. Soups were flavorful, hot, and full of vegetables and chicken. The Rueben was huge and full of flavor. We were so full after the meal, we couldn't even imagine dessert. Great place with a comfortable atmosphere!

A great fine dining experience. The halibut on the menu was pretty bland but the halibut special they had was delicious. My friends loved the oysters as well. Would highly recommend.

We went here for a late lunch, and ended up having the best seafood chowder we’ve had in Anchorage. We came back two other times for the seafood chowder, but keep in mind that they get pretty busy during peak dinner hours so try to come earlier or a little after to avoid waiting a long time for a table.

The crunchy spinach pizza was delicious. Cocktails are good. Best peanut butter pie I had on my trip.

  • 4/5 Aaliya C. 10 months ago on Google
The staff was wonderful and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was really good and you could tell just how fresh it all is. The restaurant is located inside the hotel and it is beautiful. The vibe is inviting and cozy. It’s a nice place to have a good meal and a glass of wine. I ordered the seafood pasta with clam sauce and it was delicious. I have never seen so many halibut options on a menu but I loved the variety of options. The price point isn’t too bad either, it is what you would expect from a hotel restaurant.

I love the atmosphere of Fletcher’s. It’s quiet, understated, elegant, old world vibes. Sure, we are in the Captain Cook Hotel, which feels like an ode to colonialism, yet to me, it is good to see all of the art, the vibe, the ethos out in the open. I sat in the bar and loved the texture of the marble, wood and brass. The chair was wide and comfortable, with a hook underneath for my purse. I ordered a whole arugula salad and a whole bowl of the special soup. I was tempted to get the pasta, as I know it is one of their specialties. I also was interested in the Reuben. I loved my sallad and soup. The salad had these lovely mushrooms in it, and the soup was the cream of green chili, so a bit of a bite to it, which I appreciate. Great service, food came out very quickly. Bon appetite!

Very good service. Our entrees for lunch were delicious. Blackened salmon was perfect. Halibut and chips was good as well.

  • 2/5 Mike R. 7 months ago on Google
Generally disappointed given the high reviews. Cobb salad was smaller than advertised by wait staff and left a puddle of water in the bottom of the bowl. Seafood chowder was too heavy handed with onion which overwhelmed the seafood flavors. The amber draft was good, and the banana pudding tasty, but certainly not "classic". Ambiance is more TGI Fridays than classic chop/steakhouse. Will not return.

Our experience was wonderful! The food is delicious and our server Jimmy was probably the best server we have ever had at any restaurant. I’ve had good service before but this was just phenomenal. Cannot recommend this place enough. The artichoke dip and beer battered fish and chips were really awesome

The bartenders and servers at Fletcher's were so great. I really enjoyed going there for drinks and shared meals with my wife. We were never super hungry so we always ordered and split. I had many good beers from the tap. I also had the scallop meal one night and the fish and chips for lunch. The food was great to go along with the great atmosphere. Try to sit at the bar if you can!

  • 2/5 Eli W. 4 years ago on Google
The clams were disappointing. I went because I wanted some buttery sauce and it was like 1/4 cup of sauce at the bottom of the bowl. The bread was way too crusty. The mussels at Crush down the street were much better, and cheaper at that.

I’ve frequented Fletchers bar for over a dozen years. Chris is a legend. Their food has always been fresh, generous, fairly priced, tasty and not disappointing. Great selection or local beers and wines. They have signature mixed drinks too. I recommend their chopped salad with blackened salmon; the fish and chips and the burgers. All great!!!

Great pizza and not just for Alaska

  • 5/5 Jim K. 4 years ago on Google
It's labeled Italian, but the many fresh Alaska seafood choices were the main focus for our group of 6. Lentil soup with reindeer meat was superb! It's not a big place and it can get crowded, but they fit us in quickly.

My wife loved the pasta with shrimp, she said it was exceptionally good. Because the shrimp was so fresh.

I bought the Mothers day special they offered. This was an exceptional meal. The food was great and included everything needed to make this very special. Really appreciated the support they provided with pickup as well. As an aside, the coking time of the roast was a bit different (near 4 hours vs 2ish provided) than the instructions provided, but that was OK and didn't affect us..

Appetizers and food here is always on point! It's located in the Captain Cook Hotel on the first floor the fifth Avenue side entrance. They have a good bar with good service here also. A solid place to eat and drink in Anchorage, Alaska.

Great place to get a nice meal, and a drink. It’s typically a places that we stop before heading to the airport. Prices are reasonable, portions are large, and the food is good. Nice selection of food too. Service is always great.

I love this place for the most part. However I recently ordered the same exact dish and the portion was significantly smaller....I was still so hungry after I ate it. The halibut sandwich is pretty good as well. Blackened halibut tacos should be advertised as an appetizer as it was very small as well. They are also on the salter side. Overall I liked them I wish there were more!!!!
