We came to Griffin Falls Camp to have a rainforest-experience close to the town of Jinja, without driving hundreds of kilometers to the better known nationalparks. When we arrived for our half day birdwatching tour, we were very warmly welcomed by the stuff, before we've been handed over to our excellent guide Robert. Robert is a real expert for birds and other animals as well as for plants. Even before entering the forest, he showed us numerous bird species, that he himself often identified by their voice, before he (or we) even saw them. Robert was well equipped with a pointer, to indicate the bird's position an an app to show the birds again in detail and add some facts. He was always patient and seemed to enjoy every spotted animal just as much as we did. Beside the birds, we also saw a huge variety of beautiful and big butterflies, some beetle, dragonflies and monkey and learned about different trees and other plants in this rainforest. Thank you Robert and thank you Griffin Falls Camp, we had a wonderful experience in Mabira forest!

We went with the whole family during quarantine, and had the best time. It was really easy to get there (directions are easy to follow). The zip lining was great, and one of the guides even offered to take care of the baby so that I could do the zip lining. He was great (I wish I had asked him his name). The zip lining guides were so calm and helped everyone to have a great time. We had dinner and breakfast there, and the food was okay. Portion size was really big thou, so if you have kids, 2 can easily share one plate. The manger offered to get us a bonfire (10,000 UGX) and it was the best. One thing that was hard was that we had issues with water. They have to pump the water from the outside, and it's something to consider if you have a large group (we had 8 people). I would highly recommend Griffin Falls Camp.

I have only done the hike here. Have enjoyed it each time. Always get wonderful guides that help make the experience good. The hike is not hard more like walk through forest, until you get closer to falls. It gets steep and rocky.

We had an extraordinary experience at Griffin Falls. Our guide was Hakim. Super knowledgeable, great photographer and all round nice guy to have on our walk and zipline experience. The guys that man the different points were equally awesome. We did the forest walk and the 7-line zipline experience. I'm terrified of heights but wanted to do something that challenged myself. They were awesome, explaining the entire process and helped me along the way. I'm so pleased we did this and would highly recommend it to anyone! The rainforest is insanely beautiful, and well worth a work through even if you don't want to zipline. Just remember to take water (or buy at the kiosk) and remember your insect repellent!

The experience is so good,I particularly chose this place for zip lining and a walk in the forest. I remember the first scary part was signing the paper for zip lining. The first tree is where many people draw the line and give up but it was such a good experience , the guides were polite and helped us through all stages...... While we were there, it rained heavily but the guides helped us all the way . However, I think a better shelter needs to be set up for the reception where people can sit and wait to be worked on!

TLDR - Griffin Falls Camp is a safe and professional adventure that is worth the $50 price tag. Griffin Falls hosts zip lining and nature hike activities. Being in any mature forest is delightful, but Mabira does not boast the exciting features of more iconic places in Uganda. However, the guides are deeply knowledgeable and make the nature hike fun and interesting. The zip lining has 7 sections. This is far and away enough to get your adrenaline going. The team is consistent with their safety protocols, although my “figure 8” knot did not have enough for a safety knot - I was told “we don’t do that here” 🤔. Otherwise it was great. The spot is a perfect day trip from Kampala or on your way to Jinja. The camp is complete with a restaurant and eating space.

Superb guides to Griffin Falls so informative about all the animal and plant life inside Mabira Forest. It did rain during our tour but it made the rain forest visit more memorable seeing it come alive after the rain. During our trip we saw the advance of the sugarcane fields into the Mabira. It really make me rethink how globalization affects this corner of the world and my part in it.

Very safe and fun ziplining. The guides made us feel very welcome and safe from start to finish. We came from Kampala only for the ziplining, but it felt too short for the relatively expensive price of 60$ that we paid. However you get a unique experince in a true rain forest.
