My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Elizabeth and experienced home cooked scones with home made jam, and a nice cup of tea. This place is well worth visiting as, there is lots to see and some truly unique crafts which you won't find elsewhere. For 3 euros or 5 euros with scones and tea, it represents great value. We stayed for almost an hour talking with Elizabeth and enjoyed every minute of her company.

Really interesting. A great way to learn about the local history and get a sense of it. The staff were super friendly and informative. It won’t take you long to look around, so would really recommend if you’re in the Claddagh area.

A hidden spot only 7mins away from town. Quiet historic place with tea and scones for €5. Has a tiny front garden with lovely flowers. Shame there is a modern flat built right next to it.

This place was an absolute gem- a must see in Galway. Elizabeth was fantastic and so friendly. A great spot for the Claddaugh history, and such a zen spot. Could have spent all afternoon there.

Really ticked off that it was closed! We walked 40 mins to find it and on calling the phone number while outside this place we were told it was by appointment only. Rubbish! Nowhere on the website did it say by appointment only. Such a waste of time! Edited TO REPLY to OWNER I did ring when we were outside to be told by a gentleman that answered the number that was listed outside it was by appointment only and when I said the website didn't say that, he replied, 'well it should have' and that was it!!!!!! So we left!!!!!

Katie's Claddagh Cottage is a treasure house of antiquities. Go there for tea or coffee and imagine being in a time gone by. Marvelous wooden treasures, statues. The entrance way has excellent stone that is such a characteristic feature in Ireland. You'll find old tools, a sleeping loft and lots things that were in olden times.

Google won't print my report that the place is closed. Don't waste your time. There's a sign up that says they are applying to the city for a change of use.

Elizabeth gave me a pre-booked tour of the Claddagh Cottage replica, including plenty of history about the area & the Claddagh cottages themselves. A Galway boat (with name Google misunderstands) is on the grounds in front of the cottage, without sails. Very friendly & informative! Option of having scone & tea, as well as exploring the beautifully designed local art at the back. Very good value & definitely worth a visit. Contact Elizabeth for a tour on 00353878280848.
