On arrival this looks fairly small, but that is ground floor reception, down the stairs to a significantly larger space spanning several ground floor front doors. Great menu, dominated by steak, no surprise there. We were there on a deal, two courses. A great tomato and cheese salad starter. Both went for the steak mains, medium rare - fantastic The some brilliant deserts . Only drawback is as the vast space filled up the noise level got too high!

The service in this place is superb. However, the food leaves a lot to be desired. Presentation wise, it looks dull and unappetizing. But the flavor makes up for that with the stake. Whereas the burger was just meh. There was no sauce or anything on the side to flavor it more. Chips were absolutely delicious. This branch is massive but it doesn’t get loud.

Hawksmoor is a delightful spot, ranking high among London's steakhouses. The recommended menu items align with popular Google reviews, signaling their widespread appeal. While the Rosso Braida Hawksmoor was a delightful choice, the price at £62 per bottle may not suit all tastes. The variety and quality of steaks (T-Bone, Rib-eye and Fillet), and the Bone Marrow, stood out, though some may differ on their preferences. Accompaniments like the Macaroni and Creamed Spinach were equally impressive. The portion sizes for the Fries and Peppercorn Sauce might leave some wanting more for the price. The Sticky Toffee Pudding lived up to its reputation and was a standout dessert. I look forward to trying the Peanut Butter Shortbread (which was recommended) next time. The service was competent, though it lacked a personalised touch for the price point. I did appreciate the consistent water top-ups though. While bustling with after-work crowds, the ambiance hinted at a scene from The Wolf of Wall Street, perfect for a lively Thursday evening. For a more intimate experience, perhaps a weekend visit would be ideal.

I can gladly say this is the best experience I have ever had at a restaurant, it was outstanding. My girlfriend and I arrived late in the evening to a welcoming front desk, we were promptly seated in a great seat in the corner of the room. Seating and the tables etc were very clean and comfortable and the room had the most amazing atmosphere! It was quite loud but this did not detract from the experience. We were served by a lovely waitress who gave us plenty of time to settle and read the menu, we did not feel rushed at all. The food itself was magnificent to say the least and very reasonable priced, they have a great range of food and drinks so there is something for everyone The portions are quite big so don't get too many sides if you aren't ravenous! The tables are candle lit and the lights are low so it creates a great atmosphere for a romantic meal or a work outing etc. All facilities including the toilets were very clean and sanitised well. I'll be coming back as soon as I can!

This steakhouse is amazing. Good quality steak cooked just right with some lovely desserts. Service was casual and friendly made us very comfortable. The best steak place for me so far.

I recently dined at this amazing steakhouse and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The food was impeccable, and I couldn't find a single fault. Every bite of the steak was cooked to perfection, tender and flavorful. The service was top-notch, adding to the overall delightful experience. I can't wait to go back!

The food was very good. We had a good variety of dishes around our table, and everyone was happy with their choices. The servers were attentive and were frequently buzzing around the table, refilling drinks and clearly plates. This was actually quite impressive considering how extremely busy it was this evening. The only thing to consider is that the wide open dining room gets very loud with all of the competing conversations happening. So, at times, it was difficult to hold a conversation within each other

Sadly not the best experience. As we were a table of eleven it had to be a set menu which isn’t a good start. To then be told on arrival that all meat will be cooked medium rare or more was a slight disappointment. After four different members of staff came over to discuss eventually they agreed on cooking one piece of steak rare. In fairness this was delicious! Sadly my wife isn’t much of a steak lover so went for the chicken option. After the restaurant deciding the first piece of chicken wasn’t up to their standards, the second attempt arrived. Sadly and very oddly the breast was bleeding? The waiter instantly agreed this wasn’t right and took it away. Quite rightly it was knocked off the bill but sadly a few shared sides didn’t really suppress my wife’s hunger. Definitely not their best! We’ve eaten at other Hawksmoors which have been delicious! I guess they were just having a bad night!

The Sunday roast is superb. The meat was perfect... Great potatoes and awesome gravy. The service was fantastic too. I'd definitely recommend it!

So, we went out for a lovely Sunday lunch and decided to order the roast with a couple of sides and drinks. I must say, the roast was absolutely delicious, and it tasted even better with the mouth-watering gravy. The Yorkshire pudding was the perfect companion, soaking up all the delicious flavors of the gravy, and it was so tasty! The potatoes were another highlight of the meal, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The combination of the roast, the pudding, and the potatoes was simply divine, and we savored every bite. The staff at the restaurant were amazing - they were so welcoming and friendly. They also took great care to ensure that our dietary requirements were met, which was very much appreciated. The only downside to the meal was that it was a little on the pricier side, but we felt that it was worth it for the overall experience. All in all, it was a lovely lunch, and we left feeling happy and satisfied.

Took my partner here for birthday celebration. It was a hit! Food was delicious and service was top-notch. Steaks were cooked perfectly how we like them. Partner likes medium and I like mine medium well to well-done 🙈.

Amazing restaurant with great quality food with nice environment. I visited with my family with young kids. I was little bit nervous about bringing kids there, but the staff were super kind and friendly, and we all enjoyed the time there. We had Chateaubriand and prime rib for steak. Also, ordered grilled monk fish and many other side menu. Every single food was superb. I will definitely go again.

UPDATE: I was invited to try the steak and it was overall a much better experience this time around, largely due to how they cooked the steak. The flavour from the meat was better - because the steak was less well-done. Onions rings are a must have, sweet and crunchy - They're the real star of the sides. I liked the house made tomato sauce a well. I know other reviewers have recommended the sauces but I didn't really think that the steak needed it. Even so, I'd recommending ordering a half-step under what you want i.e. if you want medium, order medium rare. Old review -Disclaimer: I had the express menu, so it may not be reflective of the full Hawksmoor experience. Service is great, staff are really helpful and friendly without being overly pretentious. I enjoyed the starter which was a spring salad of radishes and herbs. The problem for me was that both steaks were poorly cooked - very dry around the outside edges. I ordered mine medium and felt that it was more medium well (definitely grey and well done about 1cm from edges). My partner's was similarly cooked. The beef was good quality though.

We love Hawksmoor. Never disappointing on the quality of the meat. Cooked to perfection on everything from starter to main to dessert. We had the sommelier help us pick the wines and we did have 2 wines that both were amazing (120£ Cab Sav from California and one Chile 68£ blend of Malvec and Cab Sav.) If you want a nicer dinner and in the mood for a good steak, Hawksmoor is the place to go! The service was as always amazing and they have even spoiled us with dessert and a drink in celebration of our wedding which happened a day earlier. 🙏🙌

Amazing food. The express menu offers good value (currently £20 for 2 courses), but there is a £6 surcharge for the steak. Worth it though.

One of those places where you can sit down in a fancy places, order a high quality steak and some wine, and enjoy the evening. The steaks are absolutely delicious: cooked to perfection, exactly how we asked. Very high quality cuts! The sauces were super on par with the quality: the bearnaise is one of the best, and I personally love the peppercorn. The fries were a bit disappointing: had a lot of super small pieces, nothing extraordinary with the taste. And to send it all with a blast.. the desserts were out of this world. We got both the sticky toffee pudding and the peanut butter and it was so hard to decide which was better.. super flavourful, many compliments for them :)

Came here for my friends birthday and would say that it is really great quality of good. It is quite a pricey restaurant but that's expected for the food and service you receive. Generally expect the same quality across the chain as I've attended others and they've all been great as well.

Great restaurant with amazing ambiance! The food was very delicious but definitely on the pricier side. The portions were surprisingly filling and we recommend sharing the sides cause they’re actually quite big for one person to finish. The staff was attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed the dinner!

The space is very inviting and the service was exceptional. The food was decent but not remarkable. The steak was a well cooked medium rare but the outside was scorched. Scallops were under seasoned. It was a good meal overall but for the price there are better options available in London.

Third Hawksmoor and just as good as the other visits. Service superb, food and drinks always impress. Especially the MEAT and the beef dripping chips, yummy. Visited for a Sunday Lunch service. Only niggle is the space between tables as very busy and noisy. I did ask about a loyalty card, but alas not! Will be trying another when we're next in London.

Havent been for about 5 years but the food was as good as i remembered. Pictured is the scallops, fillet steak and lobster, sticky toffee pudding and a melon daiquiri. Not pictured was the beef dripping fries and bone marrow gravy - all delicious! Staff were very friendly and attentive as well.

We had chateaubriand, prime rib, monk fish, and different side dishes. The steak is great. You can expect quality befitting the reputation. Sides are great but the portion is small. So feel free to order all the sizes you want. The dining hall is spacious and kid friendly. They have fee draft beer selection which are fantastic.

Was here on a work do and the place was filled with city peeps! Even it is was really late, the place was bustling! We had the steak, medium rare and a bunch of sides, sweet potatoes, mac and cheese, spinach! To finish off me had the lemon sortbet, the panna cotta and the chocolate crunchy nut thing. The wine was lovely as well. It was all lovely and will come back

Awesome Sunday roast today. Special thanks to our waiter Hasin, great professional with really good recommendations and delivering a great service. Really recommend the new dessert! We'll come again when back in the city!

We came for Sunday roast. We had the Bloody Mary to start. Confusing that they’ve changed the recipe (for a highball glass full of flavour and spice, to a lowball tasting of tomato juice and a touch of Worcestershire sauce). I sent it back (twice) and for mixed messages from the waitress (she implied that this was a ‘special’ Bloody Mary and then instantly insisted it was the classic Bloody Mary). Like my experience at other Hawksmoor locations (borough and seven dials), their cocktails officially suck. They taste bland and I’ve sent most of them back (lesson, stop ordering cocktails). A shame as they used to be great. Must have something to do with the fact they are all pre-made (so consistently bad) now. The roast was good. I think it’s less meat than before, but that might be me. At £27 a head, I think it’s time to look further afield. I remember when a roast was £19.50! Their prices are increasing faster than I can keep pace.

Nice steakhouse for any occasion. Delicious food and drinks. We celebrated my sister’s birthday and they gave her a free appetizer, so sweet. My sister had a steak and I had the Monkfish. We both had mash and gravy with spinach. Everything tasted soo good and hot; freshly made. My sister’s steak cut straight through almost gliding and it was so delicious she didn’t need any steak sauce. My monkfish reminded me of lobster, it had a similar taste. It was delicious, seasoned to perfection. The dining area is loud when it’s busy but we didn’t mind it at all. If you are looking for a quiet spot you may want to call ahead and specify a quiet spot but if the noise of talking doesn’t bother you book a reservation if you are in the area. The toilet Facilities were also very clean and well kept. Our waitress did a awesome job checking on us and recommending dishes and drinks to us. Our whole experience was a 10 of 10. This is a great spot to visit.

Visited for private dining with a set course. There were only 7 of us and we would have been better off in the main restaurant for atmosphere. It would have been better with 20+. Food was outstanding as expected from any Hawksmoor. Great cuts of meat cooked to perfection. All the staff were very attentive and helpful, no complaints at all.

The food was amazing and everything was full of flavor. Everyone's steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were all delicious too. The service was good and the staff were very attentive and kept topping up our water and ensuring that everything was ok. Although it was a bit pricey, it is in central London and we were all very full at the end.

Great venue and service, the steak we ordered medium-rare was closer to medium-well so that wasn't ideal. I love their espresso martinis! Will defo go back but will be more forward in sending my steak back to the kitchen if it isn't cooked right next time!

Visited for NYE - as always the team go above and beyond to give you a great experience so its no surprise its one of the best restaurants in London. Atmosphere was great - and cocktails were perfect. Been to Hawksmoor more times than I can count but first time having the mash and gravy - will now be a staple every visit alongside the creamed spinach and mac. Very glad they've just opened a restaurant in NYC and can't wait to try it when I'm there!

Enjoyed my partners birthday at Hawksmoor In the city and had a fab time. The restaurant has an extensive wine list providing a broad choice, given the occasion we went with a French Vouvray (1997) which turned out to be an outstanding white wine. We had scallops and marrow with onions for starters both delightful! Mains was a Chateaubriand and a Fillet steak with beef dripping fries and creamed spinach. Our pudding was The Ambassador…rich chocolate and hazelnut heaven. All in all both food and dining experience was outstanding, we were very well looked after.

  • 3/5 Nina J. 2 years ago on Google
They didn’t have lobster on the menu which was the only thing I wanted. My partner had beef and he said he’s had better elsewhere. The starter was delicious and the sides were okay. The overall vibe was nice inside the restaurant but food is average and nothing to rave about.

We held our wedding at Hawksmoor last weekend and couldn't fault the venue. Massive thank you to all staff (bar, kitchen, wait, events) for making everything run so smoothly. Many of our guests commented on the high standard of service - drinks were always topped up, dietary requirements were dealt with seamlessly and the food was absolutely delicious. Everyone working that day was so attentive, efficient and friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we all had a great time. It’s a shame that Hawksmoor Guildhall will no longer be hosting weddings, as I otherwise I would be recommending them as a venue to everyone - but for any events, private dining, special occasions etc. you will definitely be in very safe hands.

We visited for Sunday lunch - it was my Birthday and each person who interacted with us wished me a Happy Birthday - so kind of them to do that. A gent then came over - management I believe, shook my hand wished me a Happy Birthday and offered me a cocktail on the house - a lovely gesture. We had roast beef with all the trimmings plus cauliflower cheese and stuffing as sides. The whole meal was perfect, the beef was lovely and pink, the gravy was incredible and that stuffing was the best I have ever tasted, I have no idea what’s in it but I want the recipe! The staff were so attentive, topping up our water & wine. The personal touch here is 1st class you just feel so comfortable and well looked after. Thanks to all the team at Hawksmoor we had a wonderful meal - hats off to the team. We will be back :)

I am giving it 5 stars as food and staff were excellent but there was a large party of very noisy people which spoilt our special meal. However the manager did apologise and that goes a long way with me.

  • 5/5 Nirav P. 2 years ago on Google
Great ambience and friendly staff allowed us to change one of our bookings pre-ordered meal as they didn't eat beef. They were able to change to the chicken alternative with no delay and served all the meals at the same time. The starters were good as were the side dished but the main course and deserts were excellent. Our very attentive waiter ensure everyone wine glasses were kept filled and any drinks orders had arrived promptly. I will certainly be returning for another visit.

Reunion diner with ex colleagues, what a treat. Plush surroundings and attentive staff. One of our party chose this restaurant as he loved the lobster, unfortunately on this visit it was off the menu; there goes "my initial" choice of surf & turf. I chose scallops to start and sea-bream to follow. The scallops were succulent and sweet and the bream was so expertly filleted that at first I thought it was the complete fish. The bill was a little eye-watering but this was a special occasion and we had a great time so it was worth it.

  • 4/5 Eloise C. 2 years ago on Google
Absolutely delicious Sunday roast. Probably one of the best I’ve had. Would have rated it a 5 star however I had to send back the roast as I had especially a lot of bone marrow in the gravy that hadn’t melted in (more bone marrow than gravy) however was delicious when this was corrected.

  • 3/5 AVA L. 2 years ago on Google
First of all it is very loud. I almost lost my voice after dinner because I had to shout to my friend to talk to her. Food wise steak was okay. Nothing exceptional tbh. Bone marrow - I had better ones. Scallops were the best. Service staffs were very nice and friendly and professionals.

  • 5/5 Sonya C. 1 year ago on Google
Must try the sticky toffee pudding here! Very nice location that has a vintage London vibe to it. The service was quick despite the restaurant being quite busy. I can't wait until I'm back in London to stop by for dessert again!

Amazing steak! We had a medium rare sirloin and it was done to perfection! The triple cut chips is also a must-have! Service was excellent too! We were at the branch at Bank and were severely underdressed but still received excellent service from the very fun and professional team!

We turned up half an hour early and they were very accommodating about it. The service was lovely and they were really nice to the two young kids in our party. Food was lovely, as always at Hawksmoor.
