Went for birthday dinner and everyone enjoyed their food and inenjoyed my free birthday shot of tequila! Chili Relleno was good, really cheese, not melted and great flavor. Margaritas very tasty and sweet.

Love this place. This is the combination both chicken. Note the rice has carrots and peas in it not your standard plain rice. I'm looking forward to getting the guts to do the scorpion challenge! A drink or something with a scorpion in it.

Definitely authentic and delicious. The place was busy. We were seated promptly and asked about drink selection. Chips and salsa arrive with our drinks in no time. A good selection of entrees. They also have Flan for dessert, what a treat. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here.

Everything, I mean Everything was great. Steak, seafood, salsa, staff, street carne asada taco like I'vegottenin south Arizona. Manager came and asked if all was good. This is my new Mexican go to place. They say they have wonderful Margaritas too. Oh, Ceviche is on the menu and they do table side guacamole.

Austin, our bartender, and our server, Andy, were top notch! Food was excellent and the knowledge of the staff was even better! Definitely the best dining experience in the Cedar Rapids area! We will make it a point to come back again and very soon!!! So much fun!!❤️

Pretty good food. The margaritas were alright. It's a pretty good Mexican spot in cedar rapids.

I love this restaurant. The food was absolutely amazing and authentic. They had a huge selection to choose from and it was worth every penny. You get the bang for you buck because the portions are huge and the quality was amazing. The staff was very attentive, we didn't have to wait for refills or anything. If you're ever out there this would definitely be the place to go

We happened on this great little Mexican food spot. Since it was packed we knew it couldn't be that bad. The service was quick and very courteous. I had a chicken chimichanga, which had a lot of meat in it. The flavoring was perfect! My husband had tacos and said they were great as well. Salsa and chips really hit the spot. We'll be back for sure!

authentic mexican food served here, with plenty of options as well. the one time I ate there, the food was not all that good, but by no means bad either. its a smaller location with a bit of a home-like feel to it. the prices are a bit high, but they give you more than enough food for leftovers as well. 7/10

I have to say that I just dropped by to meet a friend or something like that. I had to wait so I decided to sit at the bar and order a drink. So, when the bartender lady (btw, great, excellent, wonderful and fun lady) gave someone and interesting looking drink, I had to ask, "What IS that?". The guy said it was a spicy margarita. So, of course, I had to order one too. AND, let me tell you, IT WAS FANTASTIC! Quaint, wonderful place to enjoy a drink and meet new and interesting people. I will definitely be going back!

Lance Sheldon Review should be deleted immediately…. And should never be considered and actual review… I’ve been coming to this place since they opened weekly and have had the best food and service. The management does their very best to correct orders if they are told on the spot not calling 4 days later to complain. The food is the best in Cedar Rapids home made authentic and fresh. If anyone ever has 1 bad experience here I would say that’s extremely rare and they should try again and ask questions if something is wrong because it always gets fixed on the spot. I’ve been here when it’s packed and I see all the works running around making sure everyone gets the best service. I’m proud of the owners and workers here they do an amazing job since day 1.

During a long shift today at work, my coworkers and I decided to treat ourselves with some dinner. We had a very large order and was skeptical when I was told how quick the order was going to be ready. Once I arrived I was greeted with each order individually wrapped and a very kind worker offering to help carry them out to my vehicle. Eventually the worker had found out where I had worked and asked if I would wait a second as she wanted to grab something. She so graciously gave us free desserts with our meals and thanks me for what we do. It was so unexpected yet so unbelievably appreciated. Our food was 10/10 amazing and the pricing was beyond reasonable. Myself and the rest of Mercy Emergency Department thank all of you so very much!!

Contemporary decor with both classic Mexican dishes and a few spins on traditional favorites. Service is excellent, food arrived in a timely fashion and was delicious.

We came in on Father's Day, visiting our son who just got a job and bought a house in Cedar Rapids right out of college. The molcajete was great, guiso was so flavorful, and the enchiladas mole were very good with depth of flavor but a little on the sweet size. More lingering spice would have made them exceptional. Birria was delicious as well. What a great find; regional, authentic Mexican food in Iowa of all places! Can't wait to come back and try out other menu items. Margaritas were so good we took a round to-go.

Don't be fooled or discouraged when you pull up to this place!!! The food here is VERY good. I'm not sure what other people like, but I'm from Wyoming, and my VERY MOST favorite Mexican Food is "The Armadillo". This is a close second!!! We liked it so well, we even bought a 32oz container of salsa to take with us. The staff was also kind and attentive.

Went to this hidden gem last night and enjoyed every minute of this Restaurant. I had a steak quesadilla and it was delicious!! Along with that I had a Mango Margarita!! The service was great, the servers were very courteous and attentive. The ambience was filled with friendly smiles all around here. I really like this place. Also, prices are very nice to your pockets when dining for two. Great job guys.

Worst experience in a long time! Ceviche is loaded with carrots, when I said I had an allergy to carrots they took it in back and picked half the carrots out. Not to mention the rest of food. Definitely won't go back!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our family dinner! The food was tasty, portions were generous, the staff were friendly and attentive (not once did we run out of a drink or chips and we were checked at the perfect pace), and the atmosphere was full of laughter, music, and chatter. Really great experience!

Got take out, and was okay. Was a bit concerned how the beef in the kids taco looked pink/under cooked. So, was afraid to serve to my child. The rice was alright, but my children were not wild about all the extra veggies added. The sides of guacamole, queso and chips were all okay. But, nothing to rave about for the price and quality. The beans were the winner and the salsa the saving grace of the meals.

Love their lunch specials. Can't speak to the authenticity, but the food is better than that served at the fast food chain restaurants. Service is fast and the staff are friendly. That's what I look for when I go out to eat, and as a repeat customer, I've never been disappointed yet.

This place is not worth 4 stars. Very overrated. I ordered a birria which came as stew and tasted horrible with no tortilla. The stew was very sour no salt, zero spices. Very disappointing giving the fact that it was 4stars. I later ordered tacos and was expecting at least fresh tacos (after the failed Birria). everything tasted horrible. They had one staff who was really nice but also took long to get our order.

Stopped in Sunday for a mid morning breakfast. First time in restaurant. Breakfast was outstanding! Huevos rancheros served fresh and hot. Extra tortillas serve with breakfast the way it should be! Service was friendly and quick. Also had chips and salsa, very tasty. Hard to find Mexican breakfast in this area especially a good one. I will be back

Wasn't very busy when we arrived. We were greeted and taken to a booth right away. The waitress was nice and helpful. Our order was taken about 5min after we were sat down and had time to look over their menu. The food was served nice and hot within 10min or so. Chips and salsa were fresh and tasted just right. The shredded beef chimichanga dinner was good too. My child loved the soft shell taco and fries kids meal. The steak fajita I ordered to go was excellent except it didn't come with their cheese. Kind of a bummer but otherwise it was a perfect dinner.

Came here for a celebratory dinner with 9 people and had great service. We had one waitress who handled our large group very well. The food and drinks were delicious and we had a very fun evening.
