Truly horrible experience throughout. I've been registered with them for over a year now and unfortunately have to visit regularly. Not only getting a doctor's appointment is a nightmare but also it's almost impossible to get an appointment with a qualified nurse! Simple blood test waiting time is weeks. Moreover, every time I'm supposed to get a repeated prescription or injection, there is a problem, which they don't seem to be able to sort out, so I end up waiting for hours or having to speak to the practice manager. Admin team is an absolute joke, very nice but completely useless. And I thought my previous surgery was bad! Currently looking for a new one as it's just too frustrating and stressful dealing with them.

Update on the below: the experience is still bad even after 3 years, and sadly it is worse than it used to be... Further update: been there recently with TWO issues, first of all they did not call back when they said they would AND they closed the PATCHES request WITHOUT RESOLVING MY PROBLEM, and also when I went to see them a week later in a different matter they made me wait hours and I did not get to see the doctor. WORST GP IN THE UK. Original post: You can just never rely on them. Even it is not a pandemic situation. My most recent experience with them is horrible. I understand the phone lines may be busy during the day however you are not allowed to walk up to an visit them in person. One thing they did not manage to answer my call but then when I have left them a message on their own website with email address and two phone numbers and then they simply did not bother to get back to me, it is outrageous, these days when we would need them the most. At lest they should have sent an email telling that there would be a delay, but no, no delay and no message, THEY JUST DON'T BOTHER. Rubbish service. An earlier experience: half of their doctors there don't care about the patients, they don't listen or maybe they are just incompetent, not sure. I have seen different doctors when visiting them, and only two of them cared and listened and wanted actually to help. I don't recommend this practice at all.

What is the point of this GP if they will not see you face to face and don't even ring you back - the clinic is virtually empty and devoid of patients when you visit. Also they have fixed the telephones so that when you ring you are always "no 19 in the queue". On one such day, I rang the clinic from outside their front door and had the same message yet popped my head in and noticed the ladies swanning around not manning the telephones.

Impossible to book an appointment. Multiple phone calls have resulted in a doctor not even with Harefield practice texting to say he/she will call in 96 hours. Meanwhile, my son is in agony. Disgusted. This is unacceptable. Have raised a complaint that I will escalate, because this practice is obviously overbooked with patients that they cannot possibly provide with even a mediocre service.

Poorly run GP practice, some of the good GP's have left and the practice is understaffed. I requested a call back first thing on the 19Dec2022 and never received one, plus had to chase that evening before the surgery closed, giving the receptionists the appointment request detail. Called again on the morning of the 20Dec2022, received a call back, but none of the appointment request detail was recorded, from the evening call on the 19Dec2022, so had to go through it again. No wonder they are busy if they can't do this right first time! Overall one of the worst GP practices I have ever dealt with, but they are all in decline as the government hasn't got a clue, as if we had a decent primary care service, this would then reduce the loading on our hospitals. Still on call back from a GP, just called again on the 21Dec2022 @ 08:36hrs and received a call back from the reception team. Hopefully today I will get a call back from a GP. I guess that there aren't many GPs working from this surgery anymore. I received a call back from Dr Gallagher on the 21Dec2022 @ 12:28hrs. He was very helpful and reassuring and has resolved what I was after. Star rating now changed

After trying to get through for a working week I was told there were no appointments for me to assess my medication with a dr, and they were really against letting me get a booster after an animal bite even though the NHS website recommends getting one. Not really sure what’s gone on with this gp surgery, they’ve been good for the 30 years I’ve been with them and the last year or 2 it’s seemed as if having an ailment is a chore for them. Specifically anyone between the point of contact to the dr. Once you get through the doctors are brilliant. I’ll be finding somewhere else to register, it’s beyond silly now with patients jumping through hoops trying to get medical attention from them.

Harefield Practice is undoubtedly the best doctors surgery I have ever been registered with. All of the doctors i have dealt with over the years- Dr Hogarth, Dr Dale, Dr Lemar have been empathetic, knowledgeable and kind. Today, I dealt with Dr Thakkar who was so patient, reassuring and caring, despite the daily worry of Covid risks that she and all of these wonderful staff take to care for their patients. The receptionists have always exceeded my expectations - they are efficient, helpful and welcoming. I personally witnessed one of the younger receptionists today dealing with several patients through the window and whether they were 18 or 80, she treated everyone of them with the same care, courtesy and respect 🙌

I don’t know what I have to do to get an appointment. I have conditions that are getting worse and worse. Despite calling numerous times and even walking down there. I always get told I will get a call back but never do. Unsure why I can’t just simply book an appointment. I’ve been trying for months now.

Been registered here for a while. In the last 4 months I needed to attend the surgery frequently. I always managed to get on the day appointment. The receptionists always were very helpful and tried their best to help. On a few occasions doctors phoned me after 7pm. Really impressed by the doctors' long hours and dedication to help the local community.

Having moved to Harefield from a busy, urban area near Heathrow, where waiting times to see medical professionals were frustrating at times, my experience with Harefield practice has been generally good. I had a health scare during the pandemic, which was followed up with hospital referrals very quickly. The call back phone system has been helpful, meaning I can get on with things, rather than wait on the phone. The response to my health queries and conditions has been generally very prompt. Prescription requests through the NHS App are responded to quickly and ready at the chemist within days. My only gripes are that when my hospital consultant requested a diabetes blood test, the doctor decided that I didn't need one. I now haven't had one for 4 years. The flu jab system is also wanting. I selected an appointment at 10.30 only to find a long queue at the surgery. I thought it unacceptable that the oldest members of the community, some with mobility issues, were made to queue for a long period. Good job the weather was mild that day. Hence the 4 stars.

Truly terrible... Waited in the phone que at 2nd for 9 minutes only for it to hang up on me, called back and now 5th in que. Takes on average 2 weeks for an appointment and now apparently another 2 weeks for a simple blood test.....

Its so hard for GP surgery's, doctors and staff right now, but I have to say compared to other surgery's, they provide a great service with only a few GPs. Yes you have to wait to get through but their phone system tells you what number you are and offers a call back facility. Yes the econsult system is awful but you do get triaged and you do get called when they say with text messages to remind you. And if urgent a GP, You will always get to speak to someone. So yes it can be tough to get an appointment but you will get one and in my experience this last 2 years, they do listen. (I am with Dr Patel who is amazing and is like days of old and really tries to make time to get to know you and the family as best as humanly possible). Harefield Practice are embracing technology unlike many others which helps now and will help further in the future. I recommend this surgery.

I Visited the surgery today to ask about how to gain access to my records and test results. I had been onto the NHS app but was not able to work anything out. A lovely receptionist called Brenda was so helpful and kind and explained the Harefield health centre website was where I needed to be. Also where and how to find the on line form to apply for access..I stayed in the surgery until I had made the request with Brenda helping me step by step. For those who say you aren't made to feel welcome going into the surgery and are having problems with the reception team please actually give them a chance to help you!! Also the website is a mind of information maybe if we all took the time to read it we could answer a lot of questions by ourselves I understand it won't answer everyone's questions but I shall certainly look at it in the future before phoning or going in there. Thankyou again Brenda for all your help.

Very poor GP practice. Lack of any customer service and very unhelpful from Reception and on call Doctor. GP Doctor did not read the notes provided carefully and caused more stress and disruption than necessary. Would not recommend.

Used to be an excellent surgery, absolutely gone downhill over the past few years. Latest experience was a doctor laughing at the IBD food supplement my son has been put on to treat crohns diagnosis, calling it baby formula repeatedly which it is not. And moaned how much the prescription would cost and was extremely difficult in issuing prescriptions requested by Chelsea hospital. Imagine your gp laughing at a child's treatment plan and bringing cost into it like that's more important than his health! Disgraceful unprofessional behaviour

Horrible. Can't get them on the phone, can't go there, can't get any help. Horrible experience every single time there's an interaction with them. And it's not the doctors, it's the reception "ladies". They hate seeing humans asking them things, they hate answering your phone calls, they hate when you go there and bother them when they are having laughs and enjoying their time chatting.

I used patchs and got a phone call within an hour and a follow-up appointment. Dr Sanjeevi, was very thorough and has arranged all the necessary medication and tests need. Gill on reception was amazing, so patient and kind and stayed later than her shift to help sort out an appointment and tests I needed. 😊

Harefield practice has been my Dr's surgery for nearly 5 years and I have always had a great experience. Since having my daughter the practice has been fab with a speedy response and always face to face if needed! I never specify a dr as I have found all are great I have seen.

Very helpful staff! I and my husband registered here recently and the lady at the reception was lovely, although very busy, the staff are very efficient! Can’t wait to meet the rest of the team!

Just called the surgery reception for advice on some medical investigations I am having and spoke to Tracy. My call was not urgent but she took time to listen and was very caring, polite and helpful. I don't call the surgery very often but when I have, the response is always caring and helpful.

Just awful. Upon injuring my back quite badly at work and in absolute agony I called the surgery for an appointment for strong pain management. Bearing in mind I could barely walk, I received a text 5 hours later to invite me for a telephone physiotherapy consultation in TWO WEEKS TIME ! The receptionist knew I was in more than considerable pain and this was how I was treated. They even had the audacity to text me twice the same week to invite me for tea and biscuits and a free blood pressure check at a local Church. Absolutely disgraceful. 5 Stars for absolute negligence. Also my next door neighbour was on deaths door and one of the doctors prescribed a medication that is no longer in use, which I found out 23:30 at night after driving around to four 24 hour pharmacies, who all said the same thing, no one uses that medication now. Disgraceful and an embarrassment to the medical profession.

I have to say I am really surprised to read the negative reviews about this practice. I have always been able to get an appointment in good time and find whilst with the doctor, they are patient and thoroughly examine any issues I have. I was blown away with how good my doctor was on my last appointment! I think the problem is, people are quick to write negative reviews but people that receive great care aren’t so compelled to write one!
