Attended for a wake. (nearest pub to the crematorium). Nice finger food served. Seems quiet and well run pub. Good keg ale.

We held a wake here and everything went perfectly. Steve was incredibly helpful and the staff could not have been any better. If you are holding any event, look no further. Thank you once again, you made a difficult day a bit easier. John, Doreen Donovan & family

The team at the woodman were amazing at my dad's wake. Steve and team kept in communication and were flexible, professional and very caring in at an eemotional time. The buffet was spot on and would highly recommend this team for delivering a great goodbye to loved ones.

I held the reception here last Friday returning from Breakspear as we said our goodbyes to my darling brother. The room was ideal as it was cosy and it had its own bar. The food was served, which makes sense as we face the post Covid world and was delicious. There was plenty of choice including homemade cakes and enough for a hungry group. But most of all,Lou and team were sensitive to the salaness of the day. They were quietly friendly but appropriate and Lou was .kind enough to see that I got something to eat. I was happy with the choice of venue but hope to go back on a brighter occasion.

Very nice and comfortable pub. A village pub. A great choice of beers which you can sample before purchasing. Various spirits and wines also on offer. Staff friendly and helpful. Outdoor seating comfortable with a clear plastic roof to keep the poor weather off you. The pub looked clean and tidy.

I first went to The Woodman a few weeks ago. I've always passed it & thought it looked nice. This is not in my area (Pinner) as I live in Norfolk. However this nice little pub was where a wake took place. The food was very good and staff excellent. They told me they do serve lunch but not dinner which was a pity. Certainly I would visit again when I'm that way which is about 4 times a year.

Friendly, really nice outdoor area, very dog friendly. Menu is very basic, which isn't a bad thing but think you expect a bit more because the outdoor area looks so fancy! πŸ˜‚ It's perfect to sit and have a bite to eat and a pint after a walk.

Buffet was held here after a funeral. The staff were run of their feet and still managed to offer a first class service, friendly atmosphere and the outside seating area was great. The food was homemade and an amazing choice, all delicious. Would definitely recommend.

A very well kept pub. Complimented by professional, courteous and attentive staff. We went for an afternoon tea, at no point did we feel rushed. In fact quite the opposite. Highly recommend, would give more stars if available

Good pub, doesn't serve people who come in after 2300 as they serve last orders at 2310.

Crashed this place after my husband's cremation at the nearby crematorium. The owner was surprised but welcoming and accommodating. Called in extra staff to assist with our crowd. Everyone was so nice and looked after us with respect and courtesy.

We held a funeral wake here for 35 people and the whole thing from planning to the actual day was beautifully efficient with calls to check arrangements. On the day everything ran so smoothly and Louise and her team were so attentive. The availability of the TV for a slide show of the life of my mother in law was a nice touch and they can play your choice of music in the background if you want it. Quality and variety of food were excellent and it arrived consistently all the way through the afternoon served by the pub staff so no scramble or queues at a buffet table. The whole event totally was stress free which was so important on an emotional day. Thank you to Louise and all her helpers. ❀️

Popped in here for the first time today and was so impressed with the welcome from the lady who served up and the clean and immaculate facilities - particularly the toilets. The service was excellent the product quality superb but overwhelmingly the people will bring us back again to have an evening meal

The Woodman was a very friendly venue. Unfortunately the reason I was there was for a wake after a funeral as it is very close by. It was a nice cosy bar area and the staff were very attentive and also low key due to the nature of the get together. All in all a very good place to have a small wake. Thank you Woodman for the event and sensitivity to the occasion.

The moment I entered the restaurant, I could tell that this would be a cozy, welcoming community. They had managed to think of the most extraordinary idea in the history of places to eat, which is that they hand around the food in a tray and each time there are different foods on each plate. The workers there (Lou, Abi and Hannah) are incredibly kind and you can always rely on them to bring your food and drinks to you. The quality of the design and furniture there is truly remarkable, with plenty of space in between them. The bathrooms were very tidy and spacious, and fancy too. There were golden outlines on the sinks and the design of the wood is even good quality! I would highly recommend going to this place either to hang out with your mates, catch up on some work or to wind down after a hard, emotional day at the funeral nearby. So, if you’re walking along the street and you see this building, maybe you should think twice about just walking by. EsmΓ© - age 10

We booked this for the get together following our dad's funeral in mid March, it had been highly recommended and certainly lived up to it's reputation. All of the staff were friendly and helpful leading up to, and during the event. The food was outstanding and was commented on by everyone. They keep the food coming out on trays and serve everyone, rather then leave it sitting on a table as a buffet, which ensured everyone got something who wanted it. The food was fantastic quality, very tasty and any dietary requirements were well catered for; and any that was leftover was boxed up to take home. Totally worth the money considering all of the above. They were also able to put a USB into the wall-mounted TV to show photos of Dad, which added to the atmosphere beautifully.

Really love this small local pub. Really welcoming not over crowded. One of the best small Beer gardens I've been to. Beautifully decorated with flowers and edible grapes. Very stunning. Beer and service is great. Great place for small families or quiet drink. Staff are very approachable and friendly, who are easy to talk to. Cocktails are really good and they garnish and present classics like Pims very well, with lots of summer fruits. It is quite small inside but in my opinion gives it more of a character. Food choices is very limited and they only serve this on the week days. Ranging mainly from sandwiches to Jacket potatos and Afternoon teas. Really great find. Will easily become my local. Just found out the garden was decorated by a local customer, who does it as a hobby and maintains it. Worth it just to see this of course with a drink in your hand!😁

Just had the cod, hallumi, chips and peas with my wife, nephew, his wife and their little 6 year old girl and it was delicious. Sat outside in the heated pub eating area with the food along with a lovely cold glass of beer, white wine and apple juice ... what a lovely change from traditional fish and chips, and what a lovely, friendly group of people cooking and serving the food from the 'van'. Do give it a try .... we will definitely come again.... thank you all for a very pleasant evening meal.

Really good traditional English pub. Food was really good. There is no specific children's menus but half portions are available at half price. Lovely outdoor seating area with beautiful display of hanging baskets. Very child friendly.

We had a memorial on Tuesday to celebrate my late husbands life. The staff were wonderful making everyone welcome and couldn't do enough for us. I can't thank them enough. They served food and drinks with smiles and chatted to everyone. What a lovely team of staff. A very big thank you. Valerie xx

On behalf of the family we would like to thank Steve and his hard working staff for the professionalism and consideration during our mums wake last Monday. Nothing was to much trouble and the choice of food was amazing. From start to finish it was made easier for us, from you all. Regards The Wallis Family.

I can't really say much about this pub as I didn't really stay for long or see most of there features. The public bar is rather small but very clean and tidy. The staff are very friendly too.

Excellent service, nice people, lovely outdoor terrace, lovingly flowered. Discreet Outdoor heaters under a grape canopy! 5 sandwich and 3 main options for lunch M to F 12 till 3 only ("welcome to eat your ordered in finger food") The nearby road is pretty noisy - they have done their best to counteract it. Lovely feel to the place. Will be returning. (Neck Oil on tap !!)

I visited about a year a go and gave it a 3 star rating, now charging it to a 5 star rating, it's very unfortunate the visit was a wake. The staff were brilliant and the landlord (I think He was the landlord) was a top form. We had a lot of people who were not from the UK and He was letting them have samples of the Real Ales. He excluded Me for some reason 🀣 by the way the Real Ales were in top form and at the end they were doing doggy bags for people take home . PS I am a CAMRA Member and the beer was spot on so was the pub.

I sadly had the privilege of hosting my mum's wake at the Woodman pub, and I couldn't have asked for a more comforting and thoughtful experience. Louise and her incredible team went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect on this somber occasion. The staff, managed by Louise were impeccably dressed, very professional and offered a warmth with their attentive service, it made all the difference as they seamlessly catered to our needs throughout the event. The finger food they provided was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, adding a touch of elegance to the gathering. What truly touched my heart was the personal touch Louise and her team added by playing a slideshow of my mum's photos and her favorite music on the TV. It created a truly heartwarming and nostalgic atmosphere, allowing us to celebrate her life in a meaningful way. But what truly set this experience apart was the genuine care and empathy shown by the staff. They understood the sensitivity of the occasion and ensured that every guest felt comfortable and supported. In a time of grief, Louise's management of Steve’s pub and her remarkable team provided a space of solace, respect, and comfort. I am immensely grateful for their kindness and attention to detail, making my mum's wake a beautiful and heartfelt tribute. If you're looking for a place that combines professionalism, compassion, and exceptional service, I wholeheartedly recommend The Woodman Pub on Breakspear. Kind Regards Mark Redman
