The carvery was warm at best, not hot, except for the carrots and peas which had just been brought out freshly cooked. The selection of vegetables was not enough (tlhere were none that I liked!). The chef was very rude towards a couple of my party. The ladies' toilets were disgusting and looked like they hadn't been cleaned or checked all day! The only good thing I can say is that our waiter was very nice. This restaurant used to be so lovely but, sorry to say, I definitely won't be visiting again.

First time I have visited this iconic establishment and it won't be the last. If you want great food, friendly staff & nice ambience this is where you need to go. Reasonable prices make it even more appealing,apart from the no cooking/washing up for hours on a Sunday. Good choice of roast meats, awesome roast potatoes, giant Yorkshire puds & great variety of veggies make this a Sunday treat that you'll want to repeat. Big thumbs up for Toby Carvery. Top tip: If you are a big eater get the large plate. It's worth the extra money. I had the standard size & I was stuffed.

When l shop at Costco or visit a friend who lives local, we always book a table at Costco. We love it. The food is plentiful hot and delicious. Excellent value for money. Staff friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to visit again.

Was there today looking forward to having a lamb roast was informed no lamb and there would not be lamb at the carvery unless a special occasion. This I found very disappointing as I had organised myself and 3 others to come for the Sunday lunch . When I chose the alternative beef and turkey was very disappointed in the portions. It may be cheaper to dine there but is it worth it when you put some drinks on top not impressed. I will say our server for drinks was efficient. Have just looked at other peoples reviews and I’m appalled to see the only response from Toby Carvery is thanks for your review rather then dealing with peoples complaints. I shall now try and find out who actually has ownership of this establishment and make my complaint directly . Suggest all others whom were not happy with food or service do the same.

Great Carvery, couldn't ask for more selection and quality and in a great venue and environment. The staff were so welcome, friendly and attentive. A big thank you also for looking after my property today after I accidentally dropped something, it really saved me a lot of hassle 😅

Great food! The service was quick, professional and friendly and the food was tasty, hot and fresh. There is plenty of parking available. I was catching up with a friend and we both had a really enjoyable time. I had the carvery which was lovely and my friend had a sandwich option from the menu which she loved. A really lovely lunch. I also had my young son with me and there were plenty of options for him too. The staff were great with him. Thank you!

I recently organized for 48 guests to attend Toby Carvery Watford for breakfast, and I must say the service exceeded our expectations. I would like to extend my special thanks to James, the manager, and Dennis, the head chef, for their outstanding efforts. The breakfast itself was absolutely amazing, and I was pleased to see that they had taken excellent care of our vegan guests as well. The catering provided for them was top-notch. I want to express my gratitude to the entire staff for their impeccable service. We had such a wonderful experience that we have already book event with them. Once again, thank you all, and we eagerly anticipate our next visit to Toby Carvery Watford.

We booked for Boxing Day 2023 with a big group, 13 adults & 9 kids. Salim was our server and did a fantastic job. He was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to assist us throughout our meal. He knows his craft very well and we will certainly be returning to Aldenham again. The Carvery food was excellent and the start and desserts were sizeable and tasty.

Very impolite chef ( the one standing inside the kitchen , helping customer to slice the meat) We were first time here, we wrongly take the plate by myself ,because there was no one that moment . After we get the plate and thinking which to choose That guy came out , and said “ are you guys first time here “ I said :Yes ! He said have you been to here? I said no . He laughed and said “don’t get my plate , this is not suppose for you to take “. I said Sorry I don’t know ! Can I have beef ? After he served , he continued to say Don’t take my plate remember . I wonder : there is no staff in kitchen There is no notice telling us how should we do too. This was the very worst experience we had so far. I think the “ guy “ think we don’t understand English , so he keep trying to make us feel difficult . We are family of 4 . 2 adult 2 kid Other than attitude problem , he offer a adult plate for my 10 yrs old son, ( which we wouldn’t know ) and finally charge a adult price. The waitress helped us to change thanks a lot

Lovely service! Come for mothers day booked the night before, welcoming and quick service. The head chef was incredible that day taking the orders and processing them quick but efficiently. Food was lovely and cooked nicely. No bad points.

Not too bad a breakfast and as we went so early, items were fresh and it wasn't v busy. We were disappointed however to find that despite the website clearly stating on weekends the unlimited breakfast included pancakes and maple syrup, when we couldn't see any and asked, we were told the only pancakes were the ones you had to order from the menu. This was very misleading and we were lucky the kids were understanding and seemed happy with their other items. If this is no longer something offered or never has been, please update your website menus.

Great food! Friendly staff! Especially pleased to see the return of Chef Dennis! Not only is his food delicious and the counter is always clean and full of fresh food, but he’s always so engaging and friendly with everyone, makes standing in the queue fun! Friendly waiting staff and the restaurant is always clean and tidy and the tables cleared even in busy times. A great healthy comfort food meal and no Dishes to wash up either a win win!

Come here all the time. Foods great, staff are great. Top tier service. Manager is lovely and friendly always remembers us on our visits. Max the carver is fantastic, very friendly and gives me my preferred bits of meat which is very appreciated.

Looking a little tired but had been told breakfast was excellent decided to try it. Went early and so was very quiet but excellent it was. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and delicious food. Hot too. Will definitely use again. Clearly used a lot which does show in fixtures and fittings. Looked and felt clean and looked after -

Came here for a late night birthday dinner. Defo better to come on a Sunday where there is a faster turnover and food is fresher/hotter. However, our server Salim was extremely cheerful, helpful and really witty. He made the effort to interact with our table in a way that made our experience worth while. Thanks!!

Always enjoy a good Carvery. We went and it was empty. But food was nice it looked dry but someone was in front of me so mine wasn't too bad. My only moan was the drinks machine was flat and no syrups really worked

Came here for Sunday roast. Food was lovely, we were served by a lovely gentleman who was the tallest person I have ever seen! He must have been 7ft tall! Will come again and highly recommended!

We really like it here because they have quiet areas where we can hear each other speaking. I'm hard of hearing, and suffer very badly with tinnitus, and I'm very grateful that I can request a quiet area via the booking system. The service is very good, and we like the food. It's not gourmet food, but we're not expecting that. We're getting what we're expecting.

Dennis the head chef was wonderful. The food was excellent and every bit of the roast dinner was perfect! Great roast potatoes, crackling and meat selection. I was very impressed and really enjoyed my Sunday carvery.

Carvery looked nice, but you will be served a little amount of beef/turkey/ham, sometimes not even a whole slice. The Yorkshire pudding hasn't shape and it tasted half raw, but there was enough gravy and vegetables to fill your stomach. My partner ordered a sticky toffee pudding for her dessert, but instead she was served a muffin in custard with a bit of caramel syrup on top. The waitress tried to do her best, but she has to serve what the kitchen offers. Was not happy at all and will not visit again the outlet at Watford, for sure.

First time visiting as was in the local area and was able to book online for our family at short notice. Restaurant was very clean, bright and very welcoming. Staff were friendly and very efficient and worked very calmly. Would highly recommend and also make the journey back ourselves to visit the restaurant again.

Great value food, generous selection buffet, friendly staff, quick service. Went at peak time on a Sunday and didn't have to wait long in the queue. Would definitely recommend for a great Sunday roast. Would recommend booking before hand for big parties.

The meat range was lovely and so succulent - even the turkey. The roast dinner was beautiful, and, despite going on the most expensive day, we spend under £20 each for a huge plate and unlimited veg. Alongaide this, the staff were so kind - we even had a small problem where one of my friends didn't want their dessert cake to be hot so they happily took back the order and subsequently came back with a cool one instead! Great customer service.

We arrived a little early and table was not ready. No problem, we were happy to wait. We were seated on a table suitable for 8 people even though we were a family of 5 with 1 being a baby in a high chair. Table was not set up bit it was clean. We asked the waitress if we could move to a table of 4 next to us and put a high chair at the end, she said no problem and could not understand why we were given a huge table. We ordered our drinks and sent up for our food. On return to our table our cups were waiting but we only had a fork, no knife. I asked another lady who came passed and she said that she will go and get some. After about 5 minutes still no knives I asked another lady and she supplied them a short while later. We ate iur food and had to request or someone to take our dessert order, after we finished we again had to request our bill. On arrival with the bill she had the card machine ready and she was waiting for me to tap, we had no time to even check the bill and discuss about payments as this was a treat for my 3 boys dad for father's day and my 2 eldest wanted to make a contribution towards it but I felt rushed and ended up paying it myself which caused total confusion amongst my 2 eldest

We received excellent service from a staff member called Salim. He was really helpful. He was proactive and was making sure all the visitors had been served and took good care of everyone. The restaurant was very well organised. I highly recommend this Toby Carvery.

Great food, great staff, great venue. Everything about this establishment is top notch. Also have had multiple delivery’s and they always come hot, well packaged and with a great amount of food. Great for all the family, easy to park and great for people with mobility issues and all one level and easy to access disabled toilet.

Tried to book a lunch for Sunday, I understand they may not able to book large table so I said we are willing to have separate table. The staff said they ARE GETTING booked up which it is not all booked up. He was not willing to check if they can accommodate in separate tables. We said if you not booked all, can’t you help to find out if there separate tables, but the rude staff not willing to try. And told also told us not to book from this restaurant. Well, it seem like we are no longer going to this restaurant then.

Loved my meal here. The roasted meats were well cooked and very tasty and there were plenty of vegetables to choose from, the roast potatoes were to die for. The plates were heaving with food and we left stuffed. Two adults and one child with soft drinks for just over 30 quid, can't go wrong. If you want dessert maybe don't fill your plates as much as we did, they looked great but I couldn't manage another mouthful. We will definitely be returning soon .

It was surprisingly busy for a Wednesday afternoon. We only wanted to get a lunch time meal and not a full carvery. Food was OK, I just thought it wasn't the best value for money with the amount of food we got for the price we paid. We have had a carvery in there a couple of weeks before and it was lovely. Service is always great as well. I just feel they should have more staff on when it is as busy as that.

Had the 1st carvery dished out today, came in at 11.30am... staff wonderful! Meat great! I love Toby mash, but today it was tasteless and watery, very bad as its usually a highlight of my meal. Stuffing was dry and tasted like mud. Veg was all good and tasty, roast potatoes were cold... Ella who served us was very polite, knowledgeable and sweet. Thank you

The meat portions on the carvery are quite meagre, small slices of (up to 3), meats bulked out with quite a fair range of veggies (and the ubiquitous yorkshire if required). Very busy, good service considering. Noisy, busy and bustling. Queuing didn't take too long.

I have visited for the first time. I have had roast pork, turkey, beef, vegetables and couldn't finish it all. It was very tasty, roast pork crispy. I have had a lovely time a and definitely will come again.

I enjoy my dinner and It was so yummy and tasted really good. I will really love to go back. The chef was fantastic because he make us laugh and put smile on our face. I didn't get his name but he is tall guy which glasses and he is dark . He is so fabulous 👌.

Portion is too small for kids menu. My daughter ordered macaroni cheese and I can’t believe how small the portion is. At the end I have to share some of my food to her as her meal obviously wasn’t enough for her. If kids menu is for 5 years old only then it should state clearly! Food for adult is fine though

The beef was delicious and tender. But the other meats looked lovely to. Our waitress was very helpful. Not big queues. But busy as we left. Vegetables lots of choice. Large Yorkshire puddings. Free parking. Everything was perfect.

We went in for a breakfast buffet the food was good for a mass produced buffet and a very reasonable price. The inside decor was surprisingly really good, I say surprisingly because when we pulled into the car park, the outside looks really shabby, in desperate need of a coat of paint or whatever. The look of the outside must put some customers off.

Our waitress was amazing very helpful and cheerful, nothing was too much to ask. Food was lovely although we prefer our roast potatoes nice and crispy but they were still edible. Lots of different choices to have, great deserts and even better it was affordable. We will be back regularly
