Great country pub with proper log fire to keep you toasty warm. Food quality delicious portions slightly less than expected esp. chicken leg size. Sweet potato mash to drool over.

Fantastic food and really lovely old traditional pub with big garden and parking

Very nice pub by the countryside with parking and pretty good food. I loved the sea bass two years ago, and the cosy dining room inside, but it was night time. Now we had lunch in the outstanding garden, with kind and smart staff and good burgers (conventional and vegan). My decoration advisor loved the way they have prepared the shelter outside (see her photos). Glad to see it survived the worst times. Good luck chaps.

One of my personal favourites for a long time. Food had always been good quality, good sizes and good value for money. They do seasonal food and chef recommendations. Their seasonal crumbles is one of my favourites 🤤 Never have I once been disappointed here. Both indoor and outdoor are well looked after, toilets are also clean and pleasant. Staffs are friendly and helpful - which always makes a difference in the dining experience. The pub is very family-friendly, with its own mini playground area for children, and enough tables around to watch over your children. It's also surrounded by fields, a great place to get some fresh air, and sunset is always a stunning view 🥰

Had a pint of cask beer only but wanted to revisit to have dinner next time. Nice pub interior. Only two cask taps were available.

Had the chicken and bacon caesar salad, it was beautifully done, not drenched in sauce and had anchovies throughout. Then sat in the outdoor area that had heating, happily recommend and will visit again.

What a lovely little pub. We popped in briefly after a walk with two dogs to a very warm welcome. Just got drinks so can’t comment on the food but would expect it to be amazing given everything else!

Lovely pub! Food tasty, meat from the barbecue which is so flavoursome and cooked perfectly. Chips super tasty. Menu for dogs is awesome. There's also plenty of walks around. Big parking, good facilities. Decor inside also nice. There's also space outside to rent if you want to celebrate. And there's little children playground. Lots of outdoor seating. We loved everything about this pub!

We just had the most amazing Christmas lunch ever! Everything served was so tasty the vegetarian option was absolutely wonderful!

The manager Ellie and all her staff, especially Emma are always really lovely and so friendly whenever i visit. They are so accommodating to me and i never feel uncomfortable sitting there by myself or for longer than a typical time, especially when I’m trying to avoid the hospital. The food is always amazing and I have yet to try something i didn’t like, even if i have my preferred favourites. Highly recommend this pub they are amazing!

A definite must, if you’re looking for excellent food at a reasonable price. I had one of the specials, which was pan fried salmon, mashed potatoes, broccoli and accompanied with a white sauce, which in itself was sublime, I would have been happy to have that as a creamy fish soup. My wife’s chicken pie was equally delicious and all the food was cooked to perfection and served hot. I had a pint of London Pride with my meal and I have to add, it was as good as the best I have tried of that particular brew. The staff are attentive, helpful and polite and offered relevant advice on all the food and drink available. Archie comes particularly well praised.

Had a lovely meal with Mrs, the Beer was perfect, "Torin" one of the head chefs also made my partner a meal that wasn't even advertised on the menu, due to a busy sunny weekend all the vegan food had gone! Really top place and top people!

Pretty reasonable food menu in a lovely garden. Comfortable pub, recommended for ale and food. Handy for the bus stop.

We had a nice meal and drinks after enjoying the local walks. Beers garden is lovely and nice family and dog friendly vibe. We mainly had the Sunday roasts. Which were ok. Not amazing. The chips blew it out of the park. Service was ok. Missed some item off our order but it was a very busy bank holiday weekend so can’t be too harsh. Overall a good place to enjoy a rest after the walks on a sunny afternoon

Delicious food and Sunday roast is a must. Huge portions worth every penny. What makes this place stand out for me is the dog’s menu. I was in the catering industry for years and catered for European Union and I know what I’m talking about when it comes to food. Then the little playground for kids is an icing on the cake. Highly recommended. We come all the way from Watford to taste and experience this country feel

Looks like a beautiful cottage house with a beautiful garden. It was a pleasure meeting our friends to this lovely place.They’re having delicious food and desert with a relaxing environment.They also have a good size parking area.We are definitely coming back to this beautiful place.👍

Disappointing for my friend with her meal but I had traditional gammon & pineapple which was lovely. A lot of places do gammon and eggs but leave out the pineapple. Nice helpful young girl staff who looked after us.

Amazing Ambience, very good Service and an unbelievable Dessert

It was my mum's birthday. My sister and her partner travelled from Cornwall and my brother from Milton Keynes. The glasses were dirty and cutlery too. The chairs were stained. The table not clean. We ordered 3 salads , 1 fish and chips and 1 steak. The chips were lovely.... the salads were sodden with dressing. I suspect to disguise old salad. I prefer would have dressings on the table. The fish was a kind of grey colour, once the batter was broken so I suspect not that fresh. An absolute disaster all round. We have been to the pub previously, over a number of years and it has always been amazing. Something has changed. I would not recommend at all

Cosy pub with friendly staff but apart from that, it's a building site with microwaved food. The roast came out 2 minutes after ordering and was rock hard! There was only one option of the roast available...

We booked a table for 8 for a special occasion of a 60th birthday but when we arrived the table wasn’t prepared for us and we were told to find a place to sit ourselves so we had to put two tables together.. the service was bad, they didn’t really take care of us: our food arrived before our cutlery, the staff were faffing around and complaining a lot between them.. so in the end they didn’t even remember the special occasion and we are utterly disappointed with the whole experience. Sure, the food was very nice but honestly the service was such a huge disappointment….

We went for the Mothers Day brunch on Saturday. The only positive was that the service was good. The food was average at best and really overpriced for what was served up. The pub was freezing inside too - it was warmer outside. The meal cost £111 including service (no alcohol) for 2 adults and 2 children. Not planning on returning.

Really cosy little pub. All the staff were super friendly and funny. We sat next to the fire and had our dinner which was lovely. I had the steak which was absolutely perfect! Great decor. Would recommend! Worth a visit.

Nice cozy ambience, lovely staff and amazing pub grub. Fish and Chips and Stilton Burger were both a clear 9/10. Highly recommended.

This pub is really lovely! The staff is very polite and friendly, definitely great service! The food is okay but I would have expected a little bit more. The vegan burger is a patty made by them and unfortunately it broke immediately after the first bite. Nowadays you can find so many good patties like beyond burger or moving mountains so it doesn't make sense to offer a homemade patty unless is really something special! So I would just use one of these already made patty. The pie was okay as well nothing special.
