Some of the best hot chicken I've ever had! I had 4 tender with medium heat with EXTRA honey tossed on top. The honey is a must! The staff was very friendly and the service was quick too. I am visiting from out of state, and I will definitely come back here before I leave!

Great menu. Unique selections with local theme. The regular hot chicken Tenders made for a great sandwich with very good, but not too much heat. The baked beans were pretty much standard and forgettable. The smoked wings were fantastic. The only downside was that even though there are a couple of picnic tables outside, there was no restrooms for patons.

When you’re passing through the food desert called Louisville, make the detour and stop at Louie’s. I ordered the full bird “Hot”. We were very surprised at the quality of food. Often when you order fried chicken, especially when you in the famed state of Kentucky you expect greatness. Almost never does it deliver. As for Louie’s it’s a great stop and worth the time to wait for the cook to order meal. It will take about 20min. If Louie’s reads this great job keep it up. We gave this a 7-10 rating as dining establishments go. For a Fried chicken joint it’s a 9-10. Unique and comfort food. Enjoy

The place is quite clean! I saw that they cater as well! I got the Hot Chicken Sandwich. IT WAS SO TASTY THAT I DIDN'T MIND THE COLESLAW IN THE SANDWICH! They are quick to answer the phone and I would recommend you call before you arrive. It's usually a 15-18 minute wait if you get something with two sides.

Have always wanted to try hot chicken. Was not disappointed. Drove from Ohio to check them out. They were out of brisket which was sad. But the pulled pork was very good.

This is a great spot for fried chicken. I had breasts and a wing. They were cooked to perfection. Their breast meat was juicy, which i appreciate. They taste good, too. The service was friendly. Would recommend people to try this

Perfect shop with absolutely fantastic flavors. Had the hot chicken with fries and Mac with cheese. Loved it. Will be returning every trip through Louisville.

Its great food and great service. Only recommendation is order ahead because if they're making it fresh it will take minimum 40 minutes up to an hour. The sauces are delicious- try all of them the first time you visit because you'll be back for more. Briskett was amazing but the chicken was just so good. Also this place may have the absolute best mac I've had at any bbq joint.

Amazing food, great service. We got hot tenders, no heat tenders, pulled pork, fries, smoked wings, coleslaw, a sampling of sauces and fried Oreos. All were great. You get a lot of food for the price and it was all well worth getting again. Louis sauce with the chicken can't be beat.

First time we have eaten here. Read the reviews & decided to give it a try. It was all wonderful! Have to wait for food to cook which was totally worth it. Ate at picnic table outside in the sun & enjoyed the while experience. Will go back for more often. Take out will be great & prices worth it.

So the chicken and wings were so good we ate it before I remembered to take a picture. This is some of the best chicken I have ever eaten. We got the medium heat and was seasoned perfect. We even made a special trip from Shepherdsville to Louisville to get it. The Mac n cheese and baked beans were very good too.

The chicken was delicious! Was my favorite lunch I had while in Louisville. The chicken sandwhich was awesome with some good heat. Restaurant is simple...has some canned drinks. Indoor dining was closed when I was there, but there was picnic tables in the parking lot. Was a little bit of a wait but totally worth it. Service was friendly. Would absolutely go back!

I used to love this place. What a letdown, first off the prices have skyrocketed astronomically. I asked to order specific chicken pieces and was advised had to take how they came because that’s how they place the orders. Inquired about the wings, they are no longer hole wings, they are wing pieces but yet charging a dollar per wing I ended up ordering the pulled chicken sandwich with a side of mac & cheese and coleslaw. Got to my car to eat it, the chicken sandwich was cold, the coleslaw was so dry I almost choked on it. The only good thing from my meal was the mac & cheese. Will avoid this place for the futre.

Louie's Hot Chicken and BBQ is so very good!! I love how they package everything do things don't soak each other. The bread was wiped prior to pic. The sauces were in lidded containers. Everything tasted so flavorful and tasty! Highly recommended aver I will be back.

Little hole in the wall shop. It's not really a place to sit and eat, but the food is worth it. If you're used to spicy, get the extra hot. Fries needed a bit of salt, but it was hot and freshly made. Definitely a good place.

Pretty good Nashville-style hot chicken. Very crispy chicken skin with a tasty hot paste. Maybe a little too much vinegar coming through on the flavor for my tastes, and the extra hot could have been even a little hotter. Appreciated the outdoor dining.

Visited 19 January 2023 This spot was recommended by a foodie friend, so I had to try it. Honestly, I wasn't expecting the small hut-like restaurant. It was a seemingly nice day, so some other customers planned to sit outside. However, once they sat outside, they realized it was too windy, so they moved back inside to 2 of the 8 seats (4 other seats were already occupied). The outside seating would be ideal during a fair weather day. Be forewarned, this is not "fast food"! Considering we ordered chicken, we waited over 30 minutes for our food. It was hot and fresh, so it was worth the wait. Other customers came in after us, ordered burgers, and got their meals in a shorter period. So, choose wisely if you're hungry hungry! The food. Our party of 4 ordered no-spice tenders, hot tenders, dark chicken, and white chicken. For the sides, we ordered mac n cheese, fries, green beans, and potato salad. My nephew, who loves extra spicy foods, thought his hot chicken tenders were too hot. But my hot chicken was just right and flavorful, although it was a bit salty. The green beans were a bit salty, too. The fries were hot and fresh. The mac n cheese was nice, creamy, and delicious. I did not have any of the potato salad, but my mother stated that the potatoes were a bit undercooked. Overall, the food was good and the prices were reasonable. I'd try it again if I'm in the area.

Now this is some hot chicken! Got the hot chicken sandwich with red potatoes side and French fries Chicken was tender and the breading was o so flakey and the sauce was hot! Comes with coleslaw and pickles on the sandwich The creamy potatoes matched well and the fries were appropriately crunchy and seasoned so well. I will be back and tell others!

Was craving some really good chicken and this place had good reviews. Let me just say they are well deserved. I got the spicy chicken sandwich with Mac n' cheese and Coleslaw. My fiancé got the large dark meat plate with green beans and Mac n' cheese. Portions were big and everything was so delicious! Will definitely be back!

Very yummy food! Long lunch waits… 45 minutes, but definitely would get again! No inside seating available. Outside bench tables available — but no rain protection. Which was inconvenient on a rainy day.

The hot chicken sandwich was huge, and it tasted great! Very friendly. Cost about $9 for just the sandwich. Pretty good deal.

We went at lunch time and they were already out of chicken. I was very disappointed because a friend suggested this and said it was the best in town. I ended up getting the chicken sandwich. I thought was made with chicken breast but it is made with 2 chicken tenders. My sandwich was very dry and hard. The baked beans tasted like pork & beans and not baked at all or flavor. The lady who took our order was short and looked aggravated. I don't think I will return.

I have visited twice. My first visit I ordered the hot chicken, but it was a bit spicier than expected, and thought I may not go back. My second visit (yesterday), I stopped in to give them another shot. I simply ordered some wings, sauce, and a small corn on the cob. I have to say their wings are some of the best I ever had - they are smoked wings and oh-so good! I didn't know what to expect with the corn, but it appears they deep fry it, and it was very tasty. I will definitely be stopping in again in the future to try some pulled pork and grab some more of those wings. They are a bit pricey, but worth it IMO.

Here is my super honest review. I've been a huge fan of Louie's for years now to the point of eating here 3 times a month or so since it's close to my work. The food is definitely not what it used to be 3 years ago. It's a shame because I really love this place. Joella's has nothing on this spice! I understand there is a chicken and staff shortage during pandemic times. instead of a full cob you now get a half. I'm fine with the prices going up 30% The chicken is definitely lower quality but it's probably the only thing they can get. local business struggle to absorb higher meat cost they must pass this on. I don't eat here like I used to. Occasionally it can be a gamble if my corn is going to be undercooked or the chicken is going to be super dry crunchy bits of bird or not seasoned right (two orders this past year just gave me plain tenders when I ordered Hot). Screw ups happen but I am not sure if they have a new cooking staff or it could just be the dinner rush because I know this place is a lot busier now they frequently sell out of food. Maybe it's just that more people have found this gem. Regardless you rarely if ever have to wait more than 15 minutes for your order. This feels like a 3/5 but I'm upping it to 4/5 stars for the super friendly staff. They always have the best customer service and greet me with a smile. And the desert is amazing! Deep fried Oreos and Banana A+👌 I hope to update this to 5/5 in the future.

Hot chicken yumminess. Smoked wings are next level good. Their extra hot could be hotter though. But I’m a sadist with my spicy food.

I usually don’t like places that give you all the ingredients but have you make the pulled pork sandwich on your own. This was good. In fact, if I got bread from the fridge I coulda made two sandwiches. Coleslaw was good and Mac n cheese too. I’ll go back.

The best smoked wings I've ever had! The gentleman running the front of the house was very helpful and did a great job explaining the menu!
