Such a great experience! There are approx 10 museums all with a different theme. Antique cars, cars from movies, Disney theme, music hall, tractors, war, vintage mobile homes, trains, and a torture/gangster museum. Something for everyone's interest. Easy to walk through everything in about 6 hours if you're looking in detail or faster if you're just breezing through. The coolest part was the vintage arcade games in the Disney part of the car museum. I also loved the music hall with all the self playing live band vintage music machines. Bring $1 or $5 bills to get tokens for some of the interactive parts of the exhibits. There are machines to change out for tokens but the majority are cash only. There is a little cafeteria with pizza etc at the start! There is a path to follow but besides the car museum you go from building to building so you can break away if you don't want to do all the museums in one day.

The museum was pretty massive. There are different kinds of tickets. We did the combo with the Volo museum and Jurassic gardens for $35. The Volo museum by itself has a lot to see so you can easily spend a few hours with that. You will see many classic cars as well as cars from movies. Jurassic gardens is a lot smaller and kids will enjoy that. We spent like 15-20 mins in there. It’s worth checking out.

Went on a school trip. This was a great experience with a lot to see and do. Staff was so very helpful and students were engaged Every time we turned the corner I heard "ohh that's so cool" or "take my picture." Our kids are still talking about it. They were very positive and excited about their experience. This was fantastic! I would recommend this to everyone!! We are for sure going again!

This place is awesome. They are open from 10am to 5pm, and there's plenty for the entire family to do. If you like antiques, the antique mall alone can take an entire day to go through. I didn't visit Jurassic Gardens this time but I spent pretty much open to close going through the entire museum and checking out some of the antique mall. There's games and an outdoor play area for the kids when the weather is warmer. There's some really cool movie cars on display and even snowmobile, boat, and bike exhibits. If you like military memorabilia they have a pretty well showcased section from various wars, there's a crime and punishment section that costs $2 extra and is well worth it. You'll get a lot of walking in so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. If you visit everything the museum offers you'll walk over 5 miles. I was really impressed with the way the cars were displayed by theme / era. Staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a drive from where I live but I plan on making it a point to come here at least twice a year if not more.

Went to the museum last weekend because it says on here and the website that they’re open which is beyond false!! We got there just to be told that it’s only the antique malls are open! The red headed woman behind the counter had an attitude while telling us, like it was our fault for believing the website and google!! Thank you for wasting my only day off! We drove 2.5 hours for absolutely nothing. This used to be one of my favorite places and I was always telling everyone who’s never been that they should go.. but I doubt I’ll ever go back.

We paid for 6 people to go to the dinosaur part, while it was nice, we thought it was a bit expensive. My mom, paid for both the cars and the dinosaurs and she thought the car portion was the best bang for the buck.. if you are a larger family (like 5 or more), you might be better off getting the membership in the long run... now the food was good, the employees were very nice, the exhibits were nice, and the park was great! It's kind of far for me, but I would recommend this to people who live closer... My sister loved it so much, she wants to have her birthday there...

So much to see (if you love cars)! There is something for everyone. There are various showrooms and a dinosaur garden which is great for the little ones. There were some beautiful cars to look at, classic and modern. A military showroom with vehicles, displays and memorabilia from the various wars. There is a Disney showroom which was amazing. There are rides and games for the kids in this room. That is just a few of the showrooms. Oh, can't forget about the celebrity car room. Loved it!!

Went for birthday. I enjoyed the experience very much. Different care designs and growing up as a kid, I remember watching TV shows and liking the different cars. Brought back a lot of memories that is for sure. It is difficult to navigate through the 58 acre museum with not the best signs. They have old school cars that are for sale as well. Overall, it was a great experience. They even have an antique mall which has many interesting treasure in there.

Visited on June 8, 2019. Wonderful place to visit. There truly is something for everyone here, even if you're not a "car person". You like spooky things? There's a section for you! You like antiques? A section for you! You like a bit of elegance? Also a section for you! You're into movies and cartoons? Well boy, do they have a section for you. Heck, there's even a section for you outdoorsy types. This place is wonderful, I can't wait to visit again.

Very nice exhibit my kids loved it! The new park is great as well. However it is on the small side so a little over priced at $15 for anyone 5 and over it only took about 20 min to walk through. The food is also very expensive one we got 2 slices of pizza, and one hot dog and it was over $30.

Awesome place! Whether you’re into cars or not this place is so great! They have all kinds of vehicles from movies, muscle cars, trains, trailers and more! Was great seeing cars from shows or movies and bringing you back to those awesome memories. They also had really old tractors and the little ride on machines that you often see at grocery stores. Great place to bring visitors if you live near by or even if you want to check out a spot outside the big city of Chicago near by. Definitely a go to spot!

Amaizing place to go with friends or families, they got a playground outside and an old cafeteria inside with a lot of interesting things. The Dino area is not to big but ok for that place. stuff are friendly and they help with any questions they you may have.

A little expensive for such an exhibition, but my son really liked it. Hot dog for 10$ also seemed overpriced, but the restored animatronic stage show smoothed the price a bit. Fun place for kids!

Went to the Volo Museum on a Saturday. Line moved quickly especially if you know what you want to do. Volo Museum (fun for all ages) Jurassic Gardens (geared towards kids), and Titanic - A Tribute to Tragedy (artifacts, and replicas from history) are the three passes to choose from. Combo passes are a available and discounts for each additional activity admission. There is a pizzeria, ice cream / coffee parlor and gift shop. The food available included pizza slices, hot dogs, chips, nachos, drinks, and desserts. In their eating area there is a vintage Pirate Stage Show animatronic that reminds me of the old school Chuck E. Cheese entertainment from the 80’s/90’s. There are also a variety of collectibles hanging from the ceilings of the restaurant. Overall, it was a great experience, and I spent many hours looking at the movie, modern, and classic cars. Majority of the cars on display are available for sale. (Beautiful cars but all out my price range. 😂) Before leaving, I stopped by the antique barn, where they have a variety of items on display from various vendors for sale.

Wow, wow, and WOW ! What a find in basically the middle on nowhere. Easy to find and get to , we just had never heard of it before. Car lovers might want to leave your checkbooks at home you will be tempted to buy some of the dozens of museum quality car that are for sale. So much to see we didn’t even do it all There is also a huge antique store and a Jurassic Dinosaur exhibit too. A lot of walking but is is basically flat. Definitely worth making a trip to see.

Living in this area all my life, I was shocked by how massive this place is. We didn’t leave enough time to see everything, however, we loved it. It was so intriguing to see all they had on display. They truly have something that will appeal to anyone! I would recommend this for adults, children or anyone looking for a fun day activity!

Incredible collection of movie and television vehicles and props. Classic and collector cars for sale! The Titanic exhibit was interesting and well worth the time. If you are into antiques, there are no less than three buildings full of vendor offerings. My only negative comment would be about restroom locations. A couple are easy to find and a couple, not so much. Would I drive three hours to visit the Volo Museum again? You bet!

Such beautiful cars here. Plenty to do and see, definitely an all day trip. Only thing I wish was better is the flow of the buildings. There aren't to many signs directing you where you need to go in the beginning. Other than that it was a great experience. If you love cars and history this is the place for you. Lots to keep kids entertained too. Parking was free, they have some food and drinks on the premises. Oh and if you want to visit the antique shops, go there first. They close earlier than Volo. We did not know that and missed the chance to look around. I would highly recommend visiting.

My husband and I have been members for many years and enjoy the place. BUT I feel sick when I am within earshot of the Dixie horn and stars and bars auto. We have talked about it among ourselves and our friends for years. We've had to apologize a few times when we brought guests. For now, we let our museum pass lapse and we are in no hurry to renew it again. This place is in Illinois, don't you know? Why glorify confederacy garbage? You never received complaints? Where can I lodge a complaint?

There is so much to look at. The cars are amazing. I enjoyed walking through the museum. It was very well air conditioned because I went during the summer. The restaurant was cool. The food, was well food. The hot dogs were tasty. A little expensive but it's a tourist place do that's to be expected.

This might be my favorite place in Illinois to take my kids (possibly just my overall favorite place). I try to go every father's day and at least once more throughout the year. With the constant turnover in the cars and random updates to the exhibits, there's always something new to see. The last time I went I brought my father and my stepmom. My stepmom was skeptical and reluctant to go; however, by the time we left she had "picked out" 3 or 4 cars she wanted, ridden on the carousel with her grand daughters, listened to a bunch old music players, and shopped the antique store. She enthusiastically admitted it exceeded her expectations and then some! A great place for the whole family with something for everyone to enjoy!

OMG!! I was expecting a small car collection! These guys have hundreds of cars, plus military collection, tractors, vintage RV trailers, scooters, trains, airplanes, and yes even the "Family Vacation" car! Took over 3 hours and we didn't see everything. Highly recommend!! Also they have separate Jurassic Park and Titanic displays. AMAZING!

This place is so cool! I loved everything and every section in the Volo Museum. I wish we had time to do the Jurassic Park part which is a separate museum section and u pay a fee as well there. They also have the Titanic part which they recommend older kids so we didn’t go to that section either, they also have a fee in that museum. But we were happy with just the Volo part, it was huge and so many different cars. They have very old model cars to cars used in Hollywood movies. I need to come back because we got there 2 hours before closing and we could of used more time but overall was so fun. They also have something in the Jurassic part for kids with sensory needs on specific Sundays I believe it’s every 3rd Sunday of the Month. I would double check and call in for the dates and times. Overall amazing place.

Expensive, but fun. Extra fees for everything. Also wish there was more ventilation in the car buildings. The "car" smell is overwhelming. The place is clean and well cared for. We really enjoyed Jurassic Gardens too. Great way to spend a couple hours!

Fun museum and very educational. The cars from earliest to movies to famous people. Loved being able to see inside the cars. War area was being reworked but we were able to tour through it. Will go back to spend more time there. WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm. Interesting to see how much was changed and improved. Campers were fun to see how little they were at first. Had snow mobiles from the first made. I can't put the detail we saw throughout the museum in this review. Just too much. We didn't do Crime and Punishment or the Dinosaurs. We weren't sure how long we would spend and we only had 1 day. All the workers we met, even mechanics who were busy were friendly and helpful. Buildings were not all connected, so we did have to go outside to get to the next one. Not just a few steps to the next building. Not far, but if it was inclement weather you'd get wet or cold. I use a Zoro scooter to get around when there is a lot of walking. Some of the doorways did not have enough room for me to swing out and hit the doorway square. Had to lift the back end around. My granddaughter is in a wheelchair. She had no trouble. If my scooter had been shorter, it would have worked better. Aisles were big enough to make it easy to navigate. War area was a bit congested. Single file mostly. We will be going back. Could have spent a lot more time, but we wanted to make sure we got through all of what we paid for. We took 3 hours. I think I saw a sign that said it could be done in 2 hours. I wouldn't do it that fast! Crime and Dinosaur are extra. Crime age restricted to 12 and up. My sister says it's very graphic. Cafeteria style eating. Pizza, nachos, soft drinks. Not much else. Not great either. But a good size place to sit down and eat.

It's a really cool museum for all! Even if you're not a car enthusiasts you'll still appreciate everything that the museum has to offer. My only issue was there's a strong smell when you get to the Disney/kids area I don't really know how to explain it but also if you have allergies I would recommend taking meds as the military section can be a little dusty. Overall, it was a good experience! You can also check out their shops where they carry a lot of vintage/antique trinkets.

A trip to the Volo museum was well worth the hike from the city. This is an attraction for all ages. Whether you a car enthusiast or a kid who wants to see the cars featured in popular movies and Disney displays. They have old cars restored cards, bikes, mopeds, pedal cars, snow mobiles, vaudeville puppet shows, Disney figurine makers, the ninja turtle pizza van, the terminator car, Johnny cash guitar car, the Barbie cars, all in various showrooms for you to walk through. Ending in an old decorated styled pizza parlor. They’ve put so much thought into every detail!

Really a great attraction! There is something for almost any age group. We thoroughly enjoyed the old time carriages and campers as well as the scooter collection, so it's not just cars. Lots for little kids with the Disney character displays and then pizza parlor, candy, ice cream options etc. Great place! We will be back to browse the antique shops in site!

Great museum filled with cars from the ages. There are cars that are customized, concept, owned by famous people, and in movies. They have even more than cars though. There are motorcycles, scooters, snowmobiles, boats, tractors, and even pianos. They have a nice path that leads you to each exhibit and a couple stops along the way to watch a video and learn about the owners and the creation of this museum. There is a cafe, a gift shop and clean restrooms. It is a long walk around and may take more than a day if you stop to look at everything. They do offer scooters and wheelchairs for guests. There is even an antique mall at the end for more enjoyment. I barely scratched the surface of describing what is here. I highly recommend you go check it out for yourself.

We really enjoyed visiting the Volo Museum! The exhibits are fun to see, and some are interactive! I was excited to see the Titanic exhibit, but they didn't have as much to see as I had hoped they would. I'm still glad I went, but I thought the exhibit would be bigger. We had a great time watching the animatronics perform. My kids enjoyed seeing the cars from their favorite movies. I would also highly recommend visiting the history of RVs exhibit. It was really interesting! This museum honestly has something for everyone! If you like antiques, they also have a huge antique store on the property!

The museum it's self is absolutely amazing. I took almost 500 pictures and videos combined. They are a little pricey on the food and drinks. Example $2,95 for a 12oz coke at 1 snack place and same price for a 22 pz fountain drink. 8 dollars for a slice of pizza. So just be ready to spend a lot of money to eat if you go as a family. They have a lot of neat and interesting exhibits some geared specifically for kids. Overall I spent 5 to 6 hrs out there and enjoyed myself.

Very good museum for any car enthusiast, from timeless classics to famous movie cars to Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen, beyond even to brand new Corvettes and even Ralph Lauren's personal Lamborghini Countach the Volo Auto Museum has many sights to behold, one of my personal favorites was this 1923 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II which I have attached a picture of. If you're a car enthusiast, movie nut, or just looking for something fun to do on a weekend the Volo Museum is a great option. The food served in the restaurant is also phenomenal. Great experience, cool cars, and friendly staff. I cannot recommend this place enough.

I haven't been there in years. They have added a lot of other cars, rooms and the Jurasic is a good place for younger kids. The mention the dig for fossils but that really isn't anything. They have more cars for sale there then they did before. They have a nice room for all the kids cars, from barbie to flinstones which is nice. They put in a new area for the war but a lot was under construction. Overall it was nice and you can sit down n eat and watch a little stage of the same people they had at chuck e cheese.

This is a really interesting place that I recommend to visit at least once. We visited on a Saturday afternoon. Purchasing tickets in advance saved only a small amount of time, and there was no wait to enter. We skipped most exhibits except the cars and dinosaur park. It's a tad expensive at about $30 a person for both, but still very cool. They have so many awesome cars from well-known movies that make you feel so nostalgic, and there are lots of awesome older cars, as well. The dinosaur park was a little underwhelming, but it was still cool to gain perspective with the life-size animatronic dinosaurs - very humbling and bewildering. They also have a nice dining area, dessert kiosk, and gift shop, along with a mini golf course and dino park for kids. The bathrooms are well-placed throughout, and they make it very easy to navigate through all the exhibits. Highly recommend!

Love that you see cars throughout the ages. Also the antique shopping is fun. The cars that you will see are for sale and all I have to say is I wish I had more money. You will enjoy the relaxation in the exhibits as well as the incredible knowledge the workers have.

This place is awesome! The whole family enjoyed it. Great collection! Well worth the admission price. We paid extra for the crime and punishment area which was small but pretty cool, worth the tokens. Bring cash for the antique rides for the kiddies!

This place is AMAZING!!! Great for people of all ages. They have an extensive super cool car collection, Disney theme displays, A Titanic exhibit, a military exhibit, a dinosaur exhibit, and even a torture exhibit! There is a little bit of everything and lots to see. Some exhibits are building to building so you do some outside walking but not much. They also have coffee, liquor and a cute pizza diner.

This place was great, what a treasure. Went there as something to do not knowing really anything about the place, and now can't wait to visit again. They have old cars, motorcycles, famous vehicles from TV and movies. Old time pinball machines and such you can play. Old planes, old jukeboxes, and so much more. Basically something for everyone. They have a tram tour that is worth taking. You get the story about the place plus the layout of the place. Plan a few hours if you want to see everything. You can also buy many of the vehicles if that's what you're into. They also have about three buildings of antique booths to shop at. The antique buildings are free to visit but there is a small fee to get into the museum part.

Great place for a date or family fun morning/afternoon! You will definitely see some movie magic here. There’s a bus tour to show you all the cars around if you do not want to walk! They also have military and medical torture exhibits. You do have to pay extra for the bus and special exhibits. It was a total surprise as well that they had old Disney Store window displays! They have several warehouses full of old cars that you can purchase and a diner as you walk in for lunch or snacks. We enjoyed walking the different buildings all afternoon.

Great selection of cars, a lot actually for sale. A little difficult to navigate through the displays, with steep ramps if you have a wheelchair it could be difficult.

Very boring to be honest compared to other car museums and car shows I have been to .

Great place for family. About over an hour from Chicago and is worth the drive. There are different sections to visit. You can easily spend the whole day because there is a lot to see. Most of the cars are for exposition only, but there is a section to buy.

This is a hidden gem. So glad we randomly decided to have an adventure. $20 for adults well worth it. We easily spent 5 or 6 hours there... and that was before the antique shop. Great fun for the whole family. Plenty to do!

Went on a Friday around noon and had the best time! I had no idea they had Showbiz Pizza animatronics, definitely gave off nostalgia. The restaurant is very cool with hanging lamps, bikes, movie memorabilia and more! The food available is pizza slices, hot dogs, chips, nachos, drinks and Mac n cheese. The women behind the counter were so awesome! There is also a gift shop selling desserts and ice cream. We did the Jurassic World and Auto Museum since we have kids of all ages. I was able to bring my stroller through. We loved all of the cars, scenes and displays. We ended up spending 4 hours there without even realizing it. Then the kids enjoyed the playground when we were done with all of the showrooms. We will definitely be back.

Really enjoyed it, and the price of admission isn't bad at all. Lots of interesting things to see. Highly recommend. We'll go back again next time we're in the area just to see their changes and new exhibits.

A super fun "car" museum, but with much more to do and look at! A variety of exhibits to keep the whole family entertained for the whole day! Plenty of cars to keep the auto enthusiasts focused all day too! A "don't miss"!
