I stopped here for lunch at 11:50 am and the place was packed. I took a seat at the counter and after several minutes my server came by and took my drink order. I had to ask for a menu as there wasn’t one at my seat. By the time she returned, I had received a call from work, and I had to leave to take a phone call, so I didn’t get a chance to eat here. A few notes on this place. Its menu is extremely limited, almost all breakfast items. They did have some daily specials, but all with eggs. It is a small, but very old fashioned diner, I just wish it had a typical diner menu, including lunch items. Based upon the menu, I won’t be back. UPDATE: I wanted to update my review, I must not have been given a full menu. The one given to me was pretty torn up and was only consisting of the front and back covers with two pages of food. I will try again the next time I'm in the area.

This place is straight out of the 20s/30s. The food is absolutely fantastic along with the service. Come early, come hungry, and be ready for one of the best breakfast plates of your life with their "Garbage plate". Absolutely phenomenal and will make this place a regular stop for breakfast. Be prepared to wait tho, very small amount of seating compared to the demand.

I went to Franks Diner for the first time, with my Mom. It was quite possibly my favorite breakfast meal that I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I 100% recommend checking it out! *Though I do recommend going during the week if you can, because it’s a VERY popular & pretty tiny place that gets packed quick.* The service here was absolutely wonderful - We got seated immediately, and all of the staff that we interacted with were very friendly & checked in on us regularly (even the staff who weren’t officially assigned to our table). The food came out quick, and as alluded to earlier, it tasted absolutely delicious! Me & my Mom both had a 1/2 size order of their famous Garbage Plate…though the 1/2 size was still quite large (yay for leftovers🙌🏼). Lastly, I must note that the meals came with the MOST scrumptious homemade toast I’ve ever had. Definitely check this place out if you get the chance!

Avoid if you are in a wheel chair or physically disabled because it's not Handicap Accessible. Only stairs to enter and restrooms are downstairs. Narrow pathways. We were told there was a 25 minutes wait which turned to 45 minutes for a table. We were told to wait in our vehicle since they don't have a waiting area. We ordered 4 meals and after waiting for more than an hour we went to the counter and mentioned it to the manager. We were finally told 2 of our meals were given to random tables. Once the owner was involved our meals were prepared right away. If we would not have mentioned anything we would not have been even served. I only mention this because customers that were seated after us were served at least 20 minutes earlier. I am diabetic and told them I needed to eat because I was shaking due to my low blood sugar. The cook mentioned my meals would be free. That is not the point. The cook gave me someone's toast with an attitude and said that I should have informed them I was diabetic and they would have given me something much earlier. Finally, we got our food and it was not worth the wait. The food was bland and unappealing. We ended up not consuming it. We are so disappointed and will not be back. The owner was very sincere with his apology about our experience. The owner decided the meals would be on the house. This is not the type of experience we have ever had or hope to ever have again.

One of a kind gem. Food is great. Home made bread is their standard toast. Yummy. Pancake is huge. The original train car is fantastic. Small diner, so get there before 8am. We loved it.

The food here is really simple but so good. I always get the garbage plate with sausage, bacon, and cheese. The homemade toast that comes with it is so thick and fresh. It's a bit cramped, but the food is so good, and the ppl are friendly that I can't help but keep going back.

Frank's Diner is legendary for good reason. The food is legit! We enjoyed the 2 Meat Half Garbage Plate breakfast with corned beef and bacon served skillet style. When you specify skillet style, the eggs prepared your way are nestled on top. The runny yolks from our over easy eggs made the bed of hashbrowns even more delectable. Unless you have a monster appetite, the half plate is definitely enough. It is served with three eggs while the full plate includes five. The homemade toast is killer as well. The bread is freshly baked and heavy but somehow avoids being dense. In true Wisconsin fashion, they load on the butter, too. The staff is super freindly and helpful. Luckily, if you need to walk it off, the place is only a few blocks from the lovely Lake Michigan shoreline. It's understandable that Guy Fieri recorded his show there because when it comes to this diner, "Frankly, I DO give a damn."

Small place and crowded. Some staff are pleasant, some overwhelmed. Very generous portions at reasonable prices. You probably will take part of your order home (despite several signs "order what you want, eat what you order"

I have been here many of times. Always so good. Decent prices. The other day 2 of my friends and I went. They did mess up our orders but nothing horrible. They didn't charge us for what we didn't get and did apologize. I would recommend going here though. Again great food and prices.

Very happy we checked this place out! Love the history behind it. Nice vibe. Very friendly staff. Owners were very nice! Food yummy! Biscuits and gravy on point! Definitely check it out. We had garbage was plenty of food. Homemade bread yessss! Be prepared to wait. But it's worth it!! 😉

The Garbage Plate is essentially a scrambled omelet with hash browns mixed in and it's amazing. The French toast slices are large as well as delicious. I will definitely go back to try some other items on their menu. Very unique dining experience, worth a stop!

Came from Arizona, and I heard this place was on Diners Drives and Dine!! OmG I must say I was definitely impressed!!! There were so many items on the menu to choose from!! The portion size was EVERYTHING! They definitely give you enough to have some for now and some for later!! This place is a must try.. very small place, but there was no wait when we went, and food came out fast!!!

This place is a must try. Owners are amazing I'm a first timer and they treat you like family. Food was just amazing. I had half garbage plate and it was huge. Pictures of amazing lemonade and cranberry mimosas

It's an old style train car type diner. Been featured on Diners, Drive ins, and Dives. Bela Lugosi, Three Stooges, Duke Ellington all ate here. Good enough for them, good enough for me! It's s total dive. But great service, good food, reasonable prices. Recommend for breakfast.
