Kim's Garden

Restaurant Chinese restaurant

😠 We ordered weekly from Kim’s Garden for years. Since the new owners took over 2 yrs ago or whenever it was, the food has gone downhill & prices went up. We still continued to order. I always give a large tip even though carrying out, because there is never customers dining in & I felt bad for them.... People often mention chicken, ordered, fried, good, restaurant, rice, sauce, meal, Chinese, order,

We ordered weekly from Kim’s Garden for years. Since the new owners took over 2 yrs ago or whenever it was, the food has gone downhill & prices went up. We still continued to order. I always give a large tip even though carrying out, because there is never customers dining in & I felt bad for them. Today I ordered what we always ordered, the woman repeated back the order correctly. My husband brought it home 35 min away & 1 of the items was incorrect & smelled just awful! I called & the woman would not take responsibility for giving us the wrong order & would only exchange it if we drove right back to the restaurant now. We did not want to turn around & drive another 35 min. I asked if I could exchange it tomorrow. She said NO! Only today! Kim’s has lost a long time, loyal customer for an item costing about $10!! We are never going back. This shows how this restaurant really values their customers. THEY DON’T VALUE THEIR CUSTOMERS AT ALL.

I ordered chicken and fried rice. The rice tasted like dirt and the chicken was hard. When I called to return it they hung up so I called again and they blocked my number lol. They're over priced for small portions and pretty gross. Go somewhere else

VERY sadly disappointing!!! I had two other family members each drive 45 minutes one-way to meet me so we could all try this restaurant for the first time. I was encouraged by the high reviews of past patrons, but I'm not sure what earned the high stars. The service was SO SLOW!!! We were the only customers inside initially, so no reason for the snails pace of both our waitress and cooks for refills of drinks, bringing out food, and checking on customers. They really don't write good descriptions of what's IN their food... if you've eaten elsewhere and expect anything resembling what you are used to, forget it! Out of the four of us, only one of us finished most of their meal- chicken fried rice. One person didn't eat theirs AT ALL-- it was supposed to be General Tsao's Chicken (photo below), but it looked and tasted very strange- the sauce seemed to be made of mostly vinegar with a few hot pepper flakes and had many different vegetables we've never experienced other restaurants ever having served in the dish (usually its just broccoli)- when we told our waitress, she simply said "I'm sorry," and walked off. She didn't offer to take it back to the kitchen, replace it with something else, or even remove it from the table since it literally sat UNEATEN. The other two dishes were the orange chicken and the combo lo mein. The orange chicken was mediocre- not terrible, not great. The lo mein was fair, noodles very oily and with virtually no flavor, and nearly all of that left uneaten, too. The dinners came with eggrolls--- its a good thing none of us were allergic to shellfish, because they all had shrimp (again, unadvertised as an ingredient and appreciated by only two of us.) We had to wait quite a while to get our check, and nothing was removed or discounted from the total after our we told the waitress the food didn't taste very good. We literally had nearly two complete, untouched meals, and one half-eaten meal, sitting on the table and the waitress did not even offer to-go boxes. Needless to say, it was a $60 mistake to eat at this restaurant. Save some money and get a much better meal at Panda Express just up the road.

A little disappointed that I drove 20 minutes to find out they're only open for takeout for lunch. The lady taking ordes and cooking was super friendly. Waited 20 minutes for my food. Pan fried noodles, fried rice, egg foo young and egg rolls were all great. Will be back at for dinner so I can dine in.

So my daughter use door dash for Kim's garden an this is the 1 place that never messed up orders an we only do Kim's garden when it comes to SFR/ BBQ NOODLE ETC.. well we accidentally thought our order was wrong so I called immediately an the gentleman I spoke with was very professional an wanted to find the mistake in case other orders were effected. It turned out we just ended up with an extre item which he said to enjoy on them an we would not see a charge for it as it was their mistake. Anyways Kim's garden has always been my #1 since I was in my teens now my 18yr old daughter can't get enough of them . I know Kim's garden has come under new owner in the last few years but to me they are still the same if not better. P.s. to old owners they are upholding your name well. Anyways who ever you are I think you for your professional manner an the extra meal my husband said it's absolutely delicious 😋

We were in town visiting family and ordered over $100 worth of takeout combined for our group. The sweet and sour chicken was hard, dry and flavorless. The szechuan chicken didn’t have a sauce on it and lacked both heat and flavor. The wontons tasted like they were fried in old oil. We threw most of the food away- that’s how bad it was. I love to leave positive reviews, especially for small businesses, but unfortunately cannot do it this time. 100% disappointed.

Craving Chinese food and this was the closest to the delicious Chinese I get in NY. We ordered a bit of everything and it all exceeded expectations. I definitely found my go to place when in Wisconsin. The help was absolutely lovely, food was ready when promised and I can't wait to be hungry again to dig in to the left overs! I doubt you will be disappointed.

Pretty flavorless, took a lot of herbs and sauces at home to make this palatable. Very blah. The beef had a lot of oil sitting on it.

We had a group of six that was there when they opened at noon on Sunday. We all ordered nice entrees and my wife and I ordered the dinner for two which includes a fried platter including two egg rolls 2 wontons 2 crab rangoons and maybe something else? The other items were a beef dish a pork fried rice and a chicken dish. We all had lots of food and lots of leftovers except my brother who ate his hot noodles. He was sweating. Very nice place.

This is probably the best Chinese food around. We live out of town, but visit often and usually plan a trip over to Kim's Garden when we're in the area. It's definitely our go-to Chinese restaurant when in the Waukesha area.

Always great food. Great people too. Love their sesame chicken. They do it better than anyone.

Egg Drop Soup tasted off today. Very Dark. Should probably pack spoons when someone orders Soup. Been coming here since 2003. Seems like this place is going down the drain since Kim sold it. Very unfortunate. We used to brag about this place and come from Milwaukee for their food. Gal at front was very nice. Which is a good change. Usually person at front is not very personable. Please get it together guys so we don't have to find somewhere else.

We ordered Mongolian beef, but received a dish dominated by bamboo shoots and pinions, lacking the expected beef. Despite my previous experience with and attempts at cooking Mongolian beef, this was a disappointing deviation. Hoping to support a local restaurant, we found ourselves hungry and dissatisfied—it turned out to be Mongolian veggies rather than the anticipated beef dish.

We ordered take-out last night. It was just fine and comparable to the very few Chinese food restaurants in the Waukesha area. Was it amazing or the best ever? It was good. It seems they are under new ownership and getting things figured out and I have noticed some changes. I definitely like the new owner's lo mein noodles better, much better. My wife wishes they go back to using straw mushrooms. We fed our extended family of seven and there were no undesirable issues. If there were, I would contact them directly and give them an opportunity before trying to destroy them. Kim's prices are lower priced and it reminds me of the mid to lower priced take-out Chinese places on the east coast.

Sometimes I love the food, sometimes it’s underwhelming. The times that it is good are what keep us ordering from there, but it can be a gamble on quality unfortunately. The egg rolls and crab Rangoon are always great- my favorite in town. I love the sesame chicken on good days, but sometimes I get it with mushy breading and lower quality chicken pieces. The sesame sauce is superb though! Online ordering is convenient and food is usually ready quickly and on time.

undercooked doughy dumplings and Curry was filled more with chunks of raw onions and canned mushrooms rather than tofu and chicken. Taste was equally as appetizing it looked Won’t be coming back.

Only takeout now, very disappointed! We tried twice, different days, different times. Your wait staff can only handle one table?? Used to be excellent...now we will never be back.

We ordered for delivery. We upgraded to fried rice for both entries but be warned, even though you pay extra for fried rice, they take out key parts of the entree. For Moo Shu Pork I did not receive housin sauce or pancakes so i just got stirfry. For General Tso they didn't include sauce so it was chicken nuggets. Very disappointed in food but more with customer service. They were rude and refused to fix our order.

Food was amazing. I got there about 10 minutes before they closed. They were very happy to take and make my order.

Any other restaurant Small meal = small fry Medium meal = medium fry Large meal = large fry But here, any size meal will cost you a crazy amount more and you will still only get a small white rice, that is if you dont have to drive back because they didnt even give it to you the first time Update: chickens overcooked, the fried wontons are chewy and undercooked, and ive never been more mad at a restaurant over 30 dollars for 2 people

Food was too expensive for how bland it was, no flavoring in anything we got. I really wanted to like this place. Only tasty thing were the egg rolls and they were sadly over cooked with old oil.

Very disappointed in our food tonight. My orange chicken, has very little orange sauce on it and it does not have any flavor. Cashew Chicken has flavorless sauce and no Cashews.

Small portions and high prices. I was in recently and this place has really slipped in quality. Ordered a dish with extra shrimp and there did not appear to be any extra added despite the $4 increase. Egg roll was small and burned, entree was barely warm. Bad experience.

I dined in here for dinner. The service was great. We got our food pretty fast and it was really good. I ordered the sesame chicken and it had great flavor. No complaints about the food or the service.

We ordered off the menu at lunch as the buffet is closed due to covid/hygiene concerns. I was reminded how really very good their brand of Chinese cuisine is. Highly recommend this family owned business.
