I bought a rod from them and was charged $135 for it. I was given a 5% discount because I also had a reel filled with braid. I then saw the exactly same rod at Anaconda for $79.99. I then spoke to the manager/owner and told him about it. I asked him to price match or if I can get a refund? He told me no I couldn't. They spent time with me while selling me the rod. Isn't that a salesmans job? Please do your homework while buying from this shop because everything is almost over priced. I feel its daylight robbery.

Went in this afternoon, a lady who worked here came over to me and gave me plenty of great information as I’m new to fishing, defiantly not a pushy salesman but informative and helpful, overall a very good fishing shop and I’ll only buy my stuff from here from now on, it’s great seeing staff who actually have a passion for there job

I bought a couple of baiting casting gear here, was new to bait casting, the staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

I purchased a rod protection tube for a trip to Fiji. I was packing my gear ready for the morning flight and my runners were too big for the tube… Emergency!!! I called Danny at 9:30pm he agreed to meet me at the shop early and do a swap for the correct gear! What a legend!!! Thanks Danny catastrophe averted and hopefully I catch a fish or too.

Well done to Danny, Lachlan and the team at Gone Fishin. Nice to know that there still are real Fishing Tackle Stores in Melbourne where the people that work there fish and know where the fish are. Gone Fishin has all of the best brands in stock and everyone is always happy help with anything I need. Would highly recommend to anyone living in Metro Melbourne or surrounding areas to drive that little bit further as it’s definitely worth the drive. Walked in with a reel to get line put on walked out with a broken reel ready for the bin wouldn’t recommend to anyone! Also spent $150 on a lite rod and real combo 2 eyelets have fallen out so far only 3 month old very disappointed in Danny the owner what happened to good customer service. 👎🏻

Wandered in to the store with my two young boys - first time boat fishing and was provided with ample advise and assistance with the right bait and the right spots. Proof was in the pudding : 20 (undersized) fish caught (and returned) but great fun. Thanks guys. We will be back next time we are heading down EastLink.
