Go to Midwest Money on Hampton avenue, their coins are priced and their employees are honest.

I disagree with the negative reviews of this place. My family has been customers for years and I recently moved back to St. Louis after 16 years. We took my moms coin collection in after she passed and received a fair price. We also were happy with the gold exchanged and we brought in my moms necklaces and parents rings to melt down. They have been in the business for 40+years and know what they are doing. I recently hot a ring sized and they made sure I was happy and do little above and beyond extras which is not always found at chain locations. Thanks everyone appreciate you!

Conartist ,unfair, dishonest are just a few of the nicest words I can think of. I wish I had looked as reviews before I ever went there. All of the negative reviews of hit him spot on. I'm from the country is where a crook can't keep a business door open for more than a week. If it wasn't for a high population density he wouldn't be able to keep his store afloat. I took him $380 melt price in silver quarters. He acted as if he was doing me a favor and offered me $150 we're asked if he could do any better he would have to resell them and was trying to make a dollar as well which is perfectly understandable. The next day I had a few more coins that I had laying around and he said he was giving me the same price that he had given me the day before , she gave me $15 for 11 silver quarters. In all honesty I am an idiot for not thinking through the deal he was giving me, but being raised in a small country town, I naturally assumed he was a fair businessman giving him the benefit of a doubt, if you do the math on the deal above, he first took advantage of me by giving me an extremely unfair price on my coin and then the next day the man said that he was going to give me the same rate that he had before what's the weather like I he had given me even half of that, 11 silver quarters should have been approximately worth $40. With him getting a 30 percent profit margin he should have given me 25 - $30. He only gave me 25% of my coins value and act like he did me a favor. Those coins were given to my three-year-old daughter from her recently deceased great grandfather and we're going towards a playground for her I assume I will just put in more time and work a little harder to make up for my poor judgment. I guess I can thank him for teaching me a very valuable life lesson.

Every time I stop in to buy a gift, there are always "friends" visiting that monopolize employees. They also block the glass cases. I feel like I am invisible or an intruder, so I am done. Really, deserve a zero.

Planned a wedding in 2 days and this was the 1st shop (closest to home) we stopped at. My Huband and I have never been to another Jewelry store in 9 years now. They are extremely polite and knowledgeable and the prices are very reasonable.

I just want to say thank you so much for the amazing staff here!! My fiancé and I went in here to have my ring sized and had it back way quicker than expected. He let him come back and look at the barcode on our diamond and wrote it down so we could check it ourselves upon pick up. The price was very reasonable and you can tell the owner knows his stuff. Thanks again for such a pleasant experience we will certainly be back!!

Dave is always willing to go the extra mile for us. He has made custom rings for us, repaired jewelry for us, and has always been a great resource when we are trying to find that one-of-a-kind gift. Super happy with our experiences at South County Coin & Jewelry!!!

I love this place! Not long after I moved back to St Louis I took a beloved "art clock" to South County Coin & Jewelry to be repaired because it had been damaged in the move. I also took in a few other items that needed resizing, or a repair, or a watch battery, etc. I quickly learned that Dave Jalil and Kelly Scott, the proprietors, are incredibly knowledgeable about all different eras of jewelry, as well as, extremely knowledgeable about gemstones, and while they obviously have a tremendous appreciation for the antique there are some absolutely stunning contemporary pieces available for sale there! But I digress, LOL! My beloved clock was repaired and four years later it's still running, and everything else I had asked Dave to do that time was done beautifully and expertly. Since then we have done business in various forms, I have sold him gold, he has sold me some fabulous jewelry, and he has done a number of repairs or modifications for me. A visit to the store just to look around is absolutely worth your time! The space seems small at first, but don't be fooled, look closely because there are treasures everywhere! And definitely do NOT skip the charming, old-fashioned electric revolving display cases because there are some amazing treasures hidden in them! In one spin, of just one revolving case, I found (and purchased) an amazing antique citrine ring (don't know if it's an official "antique" but it's old.) An antique lavalier with a spectacular solitaire diamond, and lastly I snapped up a gorgeous heavy silver & garnet ring that was so inexpensive it would have been ridiculous not to buy it even if it had not been so cool! I couldn't afford to pay for it all that day but then I learned they offer layaway! Did I mention I love this place?! ;-)

I went in to find a gift for my grandson for graduation. I told them what I was looking for and ended up with a silver bar. My grandson was very excited to get the gift.
