Very good location if your travelling however the wifi was on an unsecured network so i disappointingly had none. This hotel has sauna facilities and a pool as well which is great. The bar is livelly and upbeat, and the entrance halls look nice. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I also HAD to have a twin room which was not ideal as i was travelling with my fiancee. Also received a response regarding lack of wifi very quickly which i value as i will be staying there again shortly. I added an extra star for the prompt reply.

OK is all I can say. The room was nice, just what you would expect. It was very busy when we went as the commonwealth game's were on. So I think the staff were under pressure. The breakfast was nice. We did have one issue with the staff coming into our room even though we had the sign up saying no serves needed as we wanted to sleep in ?

This hotel is undergoing renovations. My room was lovely, fresh, clean and well decorated. Shower design is suspect as water spilled onto the floor easily! The exterior of the hotel looks a little tired still, limited access to the gym or pool for disabled without going outside the long way around on the road, as no pavement with a drop curb exists. Access to the patio to the side of the entrance for disabled wheelchair users is only from inside, as there is a drop down curb from the front. The bar, restaurant and other communal areas are very tidy, clean, modern and well layed out with a table ordering system in place via a small tablet that worked well. There was a contractors white van parked in a disabled bay, clearly had no blue badge, despite mentioning to the driver and to reception that he was taking up a disabled bay, when he shouldn't be, he was still using it the next morning. There is only five disabled parking bays and at least three hotel guests were disabled whilst I was there. Disabled parking needs to be better controlled! Staff were very friendly and helpful and I would happily stay again. Hopefully, accessible rooms will be available soon, after refurbishment.

Hotel was easy to find and has plenty of parking spaces with a simple system for entering your car registration into upon arrival. Reception staff were welcoming and were able to check us in really quickly. My room was a bit of a walk from the reception but was spacious enough, very clean and had plenty of sockets and a desk to work from. The complimentary WiFi worked well. I had a great sleep. I did not eat at at the hotel for dinner, but came back to the dining area for drinks in the evening. Again plenty of seats however the barman made a mistake pouring our drinks twice and seemed frustrated when told he was pouring the wrong thing. Visited the spa area early on the Saturday morning and relaxed in the jacuzzi and steam room. The changing room is a little tired and could do with renovation. Breakfast in the morning was great, a fine selection of different cereals, hot food and drinks. There are even paper cups for taking a hot drink away with you. Overall I enjoyed staying here and will visit again when in the area!

My recent stay at this hotel was a complete disappointment. Despite paying a premium for a room, I was given a small, cramped space that felt anything but luxurious. To make matters worse, the mini fridge in the room was not working, making it impossible to keep any of my food or drinks cold. However, the most concerning issue was the safety of the hotel's car park. During my stay, a car was broken into, which only added to the already overwhelming feeling of insecurity. While the hotel staff expressed some sympathy, I got the impression that they weren't taking the issue seriously and were unwilling to take any concrete action to improve the situation. I was deeply disappointed with my recent stay at this hotel. Despite paying a premium for a room, I found the accommodations to be cramped and uncomfortable, and the issues with the mini fridge and car park security only added to my dissatisfaction.

This hotel is just getting worse and worse. Why go you may ask. I am training and this is where work send you. The rooms are OK basic but OK. Although some are being updated. But not the bathroom. The reception welcome is really good. The main problem is the restaurant. This is where it all fails. The service is horrendous. The chefs are unable to cook the simplest things without burning it. To top it all off the prices keep going up and up every other week. Β£16.95 for a mac n cheese. It's shocking. Average wait time for your food to arrive is 1 hour. Then it's wrong because the chef is unable to read what you have put in the notes. If they sorted the kitchen and restaurant oit and put their prices down to a decent amount then I would rate this hotel higher. They also sent out a review to ask my opinion to which I told them. Did I get a response? No.

I was surprised that I was the guest of the day 😁 and my room was upgraded 😁😎 Room was lovely ❀️ very clean and beautiful view, the only thing was missing was fridge 😭 We ordered water with ice through QR code, we never received πŸ˜‘ We were waiting a long time and in the end we went out to eat as the restaurant was closed because we were waiting for our water. On the check out I reported that we didn't have a fridge and we never received our water with ice, the lady replied I will add the note no apologies so Im little bit disappointed 😞

Stayed on a business trip for 4 days. Had access to the gym, sauna and pool. Everything was okay. The staff were polite but not above the minimum standard. The food was average and so were the rooms. It was a perfectly beige experience.

We have stayed here for the last 4 years as a stop off on the way to Cornwall. Dog friendly, which was important to us. Good rooms and plentiful selection at breakfast.

The room was a bit old & could do with a new lick of paint to refresh the room. Carpet was frayed where the wheels of the bed have been moving, plus alot of lose wire around bed leg/wheel. However, the food excellent & the staff excellent. Nina is a new starter πŸ‘Œ very polite, friendly & helpful & I wish her all the best in the future πŸ˜€ πŸ˜‰ 😊 πŸ‘

Did a first aid course over 3 days here... the facilities are what you'd expect from a standard Holiday Inn, nothing too fancy but just decent. We were provided with hot drinks and a few pastries free of charge so that's always a bonus. I didn't have much interaction with the staff but they seemed nice.

It was beautiful experience. Best Holiday Inn so far. We stayed in 14 different Holiday Inn but this one the best one so far out of all the other. Great service, so warm welcome, kids friendly, swimming pool, sauna, steam, so many options at breakfast buffet, latest Tv in the room, AC and so on. Free parking for hotel guest. Plenty of parking spaces. Very neat and clean hotel. Every staff member is doing great job with great customer service skills. Welcome with still or sparkling water cans and a sweet treat. Drawing kits for kids, welcome drink and snacks for children. Every day new drink and fresh chilled water near the door with different fruit options. Just amazing.

Stayed here on business. The hotel was looking a bit shabby, and I had to change rooms as my room door was broken (looked like it had been kicked in). The room was clean and functional , but the iron didn't work. My room was on the ground floor and was next to the outside dirty linen storage where staff go for a cigarette and a chat, so I had to shut the windows. Corridors were tatty. The food was good , and breakfast was plentiful and varied. Evening meal was good quality , I had the chicken curry. Only one lager on tap (Stella) but bottled available. Staff were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Hotel advertises free WiFi, but it's useless. It doesn't work. You can't do emails or WhatsApp messages, nothing. I did ask a member of staff who told me it's always like this, and you're better off using your own data. The hotel is next to the M6 but not noisy, but you're limited to the hotel facilities unless you drive out of the hotel. 20 minutes to Birmingham centre, depending on traffic (remember it's a ulez zone going in) There is plenty of hotel parking. The hotel really needs a refurbishment, but it covered my needs.

Overall, good. Our room was not ready when we arrived but we got another one, very clean and cozy, plus we got invited to two drinks. Restaurant and bar was surprisingly good, and the breakfast buffet was extraordinary diverse with options. Shame the swimigpool was out of service, but they called us in advance to tell us so.

Very nice hotel. The room was fresh, modern renovated, and very clean and tidy. Breakfast planty of choice, very good and tasty. Restaurant modern and clean, area gor kids with games and toys. And pool, steam room and sauna, gym, we were ther 3 times is our 3 days stay and was great for us. Kids were so happy because most of the time we've been alone there . Unfortunately, Jacuzzi was out of order. Many carpark spaces. Everyday housekeeping service. I recommended Definitely, we will be back for the weekend again

Loud hum all night kept me up. Room was nicely fitted out but to get through the door into the bathroom then to the shower behind the door was a challenge and I'm pretty thin 😁 so not sure how anyone a bit bigger would manage. Really needs a layout redesign. The service in the restaurant wasn't great. Hair in food. Staff on reception looked fed up too and a bit snappy. Compared to other holiday inns this was pretty poor.

Staff great and welcoming, My room was clean and well presented, I booked a Standard room the pictures showed a double bed but I got given a Twin room (even though Twin rooms were advertised separately) not happy about that as single beds are a bit too small for me. Noise wise there were some from guests in corridors outside room (someone whistling at 22:30 😏) but the room itself was quiet from banging and other hotel operation sounds. Food wise it was the first Holiday Inn that I've seen with Vegetarian Sausages cooked and out with the buffet, sadly they were Linda McCartney ones which aren't very palatable - but well done for them catering for veggies. Coffee machine one was out of order the other had full filter, so there was trouble getting the first brew. Hash browns cooked to perfection! Crispy not cardboard for a change. Only complaint with food is that it was cold, they need to turn the hot plates up. Other than that all good.

Nice clean hotel, food was expensive and average. Pool was great, clean changing rooms, steam room, sauna and gym. Couldn't turn the radiator off so had to get help who were all lovely and helpful. TV aerial was unplugged for some reason so we had a great time at 6.30am trying to get channels on for our baby who was woken by doors banging. Breakfast was great loads of choice and nicely put together. Staff very helpful and polite. The hotel is far from anything.

We stayed here on my Birthday, using my rewards points.. The staff on the front desk were super helpful and really welcoming. Upon learning that it was my Birthday, they arranged breakfast for us. When we arrived for breakfast the next morning, there was cake on the table, balloons, glitter, bubbles (for the kids of course), and a Birthday card. The breakfast staff then serenaded me with Happy Birthday. What a nice touch - it really started our day off on a really happy note. Well done team. It's things like this that keep me coming back to Holiday Inn above other hotel chains. Thanks you so much

I understand it’s Christmas Day and a lot of staff will not be at work. The most important thing is to anticipate the customers you have and maintain the food so people don’t need to wait for breakfast. Normally 10/15 min wait I wouldn’t complain. I waited up to 1 hr then when the food arrived. The new customers had come and taken it all. The failure to properly equip staff and instruct them on the structure of the morning has been an extreme down fall. 3 hungry children and angry adults.( Rough start to Christmas Day )

The hotel was clean and a good size. The room was lovely, a good selection of drinks at the bar. The staff were friendly and polite. The pool and facilities were clean and well kept. Definitely will be back.

The rooms are a bit old now and do need to be refreshed. However, the staff and food are very good and there is a gym if you are up for it. Watch out when you come off the motorway, easy to miss the right turn on the roundabout. Liked the order at the table kit, which meant the food service was really quick.

Normally a great experience here but on this occasion wrong rooms given at check in Rectified with no apology Had to change rooms again due to hardly any space to move in the bathroom Then during the first day the rooms were not cleaned. We complained and despite assurances that they would be done they were not so we had to complain again We were offered complimentary breakfasts and a slightly later check out time but again no real apology Really disappointing and after 2 good previous experiences will most likely give this hotel a miss next time I visit Birmingham

The hotel is conveniently placed by the motorway, there are also regular buses through Perry Barr into town. The rooms are dated and the majority are twins, not doubles; with small bathrooms. No fridges in rooms. There is power next to the bed, and there is air conditioning. Some of my colleagues A/C didn't work, and the hotel refused to fix it or move rooms - so beware, in summer. However they are clean and the cleaners do a great job each day. There is a free car park but it is not secure, and thieves were actively breaking into vehicles during our stay. The hotel food is average quality but the menu is small and overpriced. For a short stay - no problem. For longer stays, you will need to arrange something else. There is a nice Indian restaurant, a Harvester and a chip shop nearby; as well as a grocery store and petrol station. The 51 bus can take you to Aldi and Asda easily. The bar service is very slow and the staff are clearly not happy there. We were often ignored at the bar, the staff preferring to arrange glasses or count loose change. When you are served, the staff do not know how to properly use things like beer taps or corkscrews, so service is slow and substandard. The reception staff were very helpful and welcoming, as were the night porters. The bar and restaurant staff were mostly rude and miserable. Breakfast is acceptable quality but very expensive. Two or three times in a six week stay I was ill immediately after breakfast, so clearly a little work is needed here, especially to justify the Β£15 price tag they put on it. Overall I would say if you need a business hotel for a night or two then you will find the hotel to be acceptable quality. However it is not good for long stays or holiday breaks etc - the quality is not high enough.

Unfortunately the standard of this hotel has declined in all aspects. I booked a double room and was provided a room for disabled persons. The room was spacious, but the bathroom was not usable for those who do not have a disability, such as the sink was so low I had to bend over double to brush my teeth and wash my face. There were bars in the bath which are located in such awkward places which are again not suitable for able bodied individuals. There was a bulb which was fused in the bathroom and the iron was broken. I went to the front desk to complain and Jackie responded that I got what I had booked (nite i did not book a disabled room) and that if there is a disabled room with a double bed in it, then the Hotel does not have to say it's a disabled room. She also said "no one else has complained". When I insisted that I couldn't stay in that room, she said that she only had a twin room available which I agreed to take. Next morning went for breakfast, which is OK but more on the expensive side for what it is. I only book to stay here because it has parking, but looks like I'll be going elsewhere.

I was gifted a red letter day so we chose this location for an overnight stay on our way to a holiday in Wales. The staff were very friendly, attentive and made us feel very welcome as soon as we walked into reception. The 3 course evening meal and breakfast were well presented, plentiful and delicious. The room was spotlessly clean. Housekeeping can be commended for the pride they take in their work. The room had everything we needed for our overnight stay, although the decor is a little dated. The corridor areas definitely need attention. On leaving the receptionist said that the hotel is due a refurb. It will be interesting to see the improvements made. The location was quiet and overlooked fields. Although close to the motorway the sound of the traffic was very far into the distance. We slept with the window open and had a peaceful night's sleep.

Serviceable place, bit noisy closer to the evenings but room was tidy and clean and has great transport links for getting into city centre. WiFi was very poor however and kept cutting out, plus no smart TV. Lots of on-site parking which is free providing you enter your car reg upon arrival. Room key stopped working a few times, but staff were helpful. Also Starbucks drinks are available at the restaurant which is very clean and has lovely staff on hand. Would stay again.

A very good place for stay. I mainly booked this place because it comes recommended for their swimming pool facility. The rooms were neat and clean. First of they have a very large parking lot. The staff at the reception are available 24 / 7 and they are very kind and very helpful. The room was cleaned when ever we requested. The restaurant was very good with flat screens running some news or the CWG, as we visited during that time. The food was very good. They have a good sized swimming pool along with a separate jacuzzi. The kids had a lot of fun. The mattress are very comfortable (I found so). I was very surprised and excited that they serve a full English break fast. Priced at Β£ 16 the morning breakfast was amazing. Everywhere you find helpful people, except for one person who failed to attend the table even to check what we wanted to give directions on how to order. But that was only on the first evening, then we had friendly faces all around. Check-in & check-out were very smooth. To sum up it was a excellent place, friendly staff and a very comfortable stay

This hotel is a little tired and the rooms and coridoors could do with an update. At current rates which have not long ago doubled, it is over priced. That said the bar food was very good and keenly priced. It is also very quietly situated compared to similar hotels. I would stay here on business again without any doubt if the room rates are more competitive again at a different time.

Normally get a great service. Staff are generally really friendly and helpful. Food service is spot on. And the waiting staff very attentive and helpful. Desk service is normally great but one or two staff can be serious and sour, but helpful non the less. Will use again, but as we are corporate customers we can feel taken for granted that we are easy business and not to be fussed over.

Far better then I expected it to be after being disappointed by Holiday Inn Lime street, London. Cleaner rooms and bathrooms and good customer service too. Their breakfast was awesome and the staff specially Roxana & Deni, were very friendly and courteous, made it a memorable one for us. Loved our stay there and highly recommend if anyone is thinking of staying at Birmingham.

Sharon at front desk was extremely helpful and welcoming. We had booked multiple rooms and needed extra pillows, bedding sheets etc. She even managed to find us another room at very short notice. We were very grateful as she went out of her way to accommodate for us, even at 2am! She is a real asset to this hotel. Excellent stay πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ
