An average Premier Inn visit that should have been better. Trying to check in took more than 20 mins, when all I wanted was to go to my room. I was then told there was an outstanding balance to pay for food when everything was fully paid in advance. Asked for an iron and ironing board as I often do on stays but was told an ironing board wasn't available. Also was given incorrect times for an evening meal, which meant I nearly missed something I had paid for. Was told what I wanted for my meal was out of stock but felt they just didn't want to cook it, so was presented an overdone microwave curry that srltuck to the plate and poor quality pudding on already limited menu. Whilst the room and bed were as usual fine, the cooked breakfast which I had to preorder had items missing from it despite being the only one eating at the time. Lots of work to do as not decent representation of this brand. Has put me off staying with Premier Inn again.

The room was clean and the bed comfortable but very stuffy and not noise proof at all. Got woken up on numerous occasions by other guests in other rooms making a racket. Its proximity to the zoo and museums is its main draw. The breakfast was great value and they make an extra effort for those with allergies, which is a big plus for us.

The hotel is in a good location, it was clean, tidy and quiet. The only issue I had was the restaurant and this is why I’ve given 3* There is a hungry horse next to the hotel, I assumed this is where I would be eating but no. The hotel has its own restaurant, it looks more like a bar but this wasn’t a problem. What was a problem is the lack of choice on the menu! Including starters, mains and desert there was no more than 10 items on the menu for all. If you don’t like curry or pizza then you’re going hungry! The chef was the hotel manager, I’m all for efficiencies but that’s a bit too far. The breakfast on the other hand was good so I don’t want to take that away from them. The biggest issue of all was the waitress, she didn’t really have a clue bless her. We ordered two beers and a third of the glasses was just head. I mean if she works the bar how has she not been shown how to pour a beer? Absolutely disgusting! Don’t get the meal deal here it’s really not worth it. It’s far more cost effective and overall a much better experience to eat at the hungry horse next door.

We stay in Premier Inns regularly but this one really is the worst we have ever been in. We arrived and the room wasn’t ready, instead of any urgency for the staff to make the room (it was 6:30 at night) they told us to come back in an hour?! The staff that we approached had no urgency about them, the continued to sit in the bar and have a chat between themselves, one of these staff was actually the duty manager Grace- she offered no apology, just lots of eye rolling and sighing as if we were putting her out by asking for our hotel room to be made. We had other issues throughout the night, included an issue making one of the beds completely unsleepable yet when we come down to let the staff know just after midnight, there wasn’t a single staff member to be found anywhere in the hotel. I imagine this hotel is fine if you’re just on a quick stop over but if you come across any issues that require even an ounce of good customer service or empathy from the staff then god help you

Our room (201) was very clean and comfortable. The bed was so good I wanted to bring it home with us!! The choice at breakfast was excellent too, very nice sausages! Staff were friendly and helpful. We had a 3 night stay and will definitely return.

Stayed for one night as it was convenient for visiting family. Arrived about 9pm after a 3hr drive and the check-in machine didn't work so I pressed the buzzer. I waited for a while and was about to try and find a phone number for the hotel when someone appeared. The lady checking me in didn't have any speed to the process. The bar was closed and the lady didn't mention anything about getting a drink despite lots of items in the room displaying bar prices. I didn't go back to ask though. Room was a typical premier Inn. Bed was comfy and room spacious. I was on the ground floor but the corridor was quite loud. There was also a strange stain on the bedsheets that was quite unpleasant. I was only there for one night so didn't bother reporting it. I might stay again but might ask for a room on the 1st floor

Premier Inn has absolutely the worst customer service I've received recently. When making a booking, there is no flexibility to make small requests. You try and ring in advance of your stay, and nobody ever picks up. There is no email address to drop a quick message either ... Premier Inn keep shooting themselves in the foot, when a simple adjustment would alleviate so much angst and frustration. On the plus side the staff have generally been helpful and the amenities fine, but the experience is ruined unnecessarily.

Friendly staff, great sized rooms, clean and welcoming. We asked for extra tea and coffee, and it was no trouble at all. Bed was really comfortable, and the shower was lovely. Location is close to restaurants and other places to visit.

Booked a family room for 2 adults and two children. Arrived at the room and dropped bags as we were due to be picked up straight away. Noticed the double bed and a sofa bed which had no bedding was also concerned as that was not enough for the 4 of us. Mentioned to reception as we were leaving and she told me no worries she had another family available which was made up. Got back to the hotel at 130am and spoke with a different receptionist who gave me a different key on the 2nd floor. Moved all of our belongings to find the two additional pullout beds but no bedding!! Went downstairs and waited 15 minutes to find a receptionist to be handed a bed sheet and a pillow case. Had to go back down to reception to ask for a duvet cover also. Not great going!!!

Just had a great 3 night stay. Close to all the nearby attractions and loads of places to eat nearby. Rooms were clean and beds really comfortable and despite being close to a main road, rooms were extremely quiet and I had no trouble sleeping. Steve, the manager, and the rest of his team were superb and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was also lovely

We as a family would highly recommend this place to stay. Great friendly staff. Very very clean and comfortable. You definitely get a good night's sleep. The breakfast is amazing. This is the only place we will stay when we visit Dudley

No wifi all weekend.. Room was great, location great, but staff were unhelpful with anything/everything throughout stay.

Lovely hotel and great staff, very comfortable bed but rooms looking a bit dated, also only enough milk and coffee for two cups and not replenished the next day, great breakfast 👍

Convenient location, but not a very comfortable stay. We stayed as a family of four, but none of us managed to get any sleep - you could feel the springs in the beds and the pillows were rock hard. Ended up abandoning mine! A nice touch in the room was a search for a hidden animal (escaped from Dudley Zoo), which ended in a prize. The prizes were really decent and the kids were really happy with the game. We ordered breakfast in the morning, but some convention had been through and apparently taken the "all you can eat" buffet quite literally, so there was nothing left. Felt really sorry for the staff who were trying their best.

Only stayed for one night but had everything we needed. The room was clean and the bedding was spotless (and comfortable!) Didn't see a single member of staff on site as it was automatic check-in, though this wasn't a problem for us. We would, and will, stay again.

Arrived on the 16th of July 2021 very good welcome from the desk under the circumstances accommodation does what it says on the tin no more no less Saturday morning breakfast excellent service cuisine as good as you can expect from a Premier Inn Sunday morning arrived for breakfast at appointed time 9:15 greeted by the manager who said (go and get some fresh air and I will table for you?) Unfortunately short-term memory not his strong point as he forgot , and 45 minutes later I went back in and remind the staff that I'm still waiting for my breakfast the lady who I spoke to (MEL) whom I believe was originally a housekeeper drafted into the dining area to help out was probably the best person in the building and nothing was too much trouble for her and she was working like there was no tomorrow she was rushing everywhere where as the gentleman was sitting down and becoming too familiar with guest so all in all not necessary A good experience from that point of view but don't let one person's lack of Enthusiasm puts you off take a gamble I did? James disappointed

Had a course up here so based here for the week, easy check in , comfy quiet room and lovely breakfast in the mornings, nice touch with the coffee station so you can refill your room with hot beverages when ever needed. Easy access to main roads and across the road from a decent assortment of bars and restaurants plus cinema and bowling if you like that sort of thing. Staff were lovely and friendly and can't fault the room.

Practical, clean and quiet away from the main road. Big, spacious car park. Restaurants/Costa/KFC/ BK/McDonald’s are all stones throw away and near big and Tesco supermarkets. Nice staff, warm smiles. Rooms are clean, air conditioning is amazing. Highly recommend.

It was hard not to give this place 5 star but unfortunately the WiFi didn't work once during our whole stay. Everything else was above expectation so just a shame about the Internet.

Nice big room. Mobile reception could be better. Main reason for three starts. Have asked for them to only clean out the bins, very basic, and failed at doing that, twice in a row.

  • 4/5 Vera H. 1 year ago on Google
It was like the rest of Premier Inns. .basic but that's fine...accept we had to leave our rooms at approx 1am in the morning due to some person smoking in the room..it was a very cold night..n I have breathing problems n the cold weather certainly doesn't help with my condition Im also recovering from heart procedures which adds to the problem. .. .Only been in bed 1.1/2 hours..the night staff was talking on the the phone as she couldn't turn the alarm off...she knew what room its was but couldn't isolate the alarm...apparently the police came n escorted the person to the police station. ...no apologies for us though. When my friend tried phoning the head office as she had booked the room ..their policy was. ..something like .you can't get any money back as it was a fire alarm... So this time round our visit was a little bit stressful. Which is what I don't need.

Very nice hotel bit out the way from town centre. You need a car or a taxi to get into Dudley. But that's not much of a problem.

Having stayed a night at the premiere inn i am giving a generous 3/5 The lady who wasn't on the front desk came out eventually and didn't seem to happy to be there which is a real downer. The room was fine and no real crazy problems but it was little things, the bedsheets were incredibly heavy and felt like i was being crushed, you can state your opinion but thats mine. The air con didn't seem to kick in till after 20 minutes and an was very loud and hard to fall asleep. Like i said it was little things that kinda dropped it down in score for me and comparing it to other hotels. They also had an old bath style instead of shower so the worry of slipping was in my mind when trying to clean up in the morning. I would most likely stay here and at PI if i was traveling and didnt wanna try an independant place cause at least i know what im getting for my money

Nice enough hotel, it's a Premier Inn, clean and fresh comfortable bed. It's on a trading estate with lots of places to eat, the hotel only offers microwaved meals in the evening. On the bad side, the Internet is awful. Even after paying extra for premium, it keeps dropping out. You can't watch catch-up tv without buffering. it's terrible.

Upon arrival at about 8.30pm a member of staff was waiting outside for her Uber but went out of her way to greet us which was nice, once inside a very friendly and polite lady called Grace checked us in. The following day my wife and I had forgotten our phone chargers and our phones were nearly flat by the afternoon, we asked at reception if there was anything they could do to help and Grace got a charger so we could both charge our phones whilst having a coffee. whilst we waited for over an hour for our phones to charge we observed Grace and Maria who were covering reception and found them to be very polite, professional, welcoming and they were just two lovely ladies. There was also another gentleman who worked there that was sat in the dining area on his laptop that was also friendly and pleasant to guests and staff, in the morning we handed our room key in to the same gent and told him we'd had a lovely stay. we have stayed in quite a few premier inn and thought this one to be the best.

For what you get with 3 kids is unbelievable! Room was perfectly fine, breakfast was great, and staff/service was second to none! A huge shout out to Joe! He was excellent with the kids and truly made us feel special/welcome, loved him! All in all, best stay at a Premier Inn to date 👍

Good, clean hotel. Great customer service. Good breakfast, only issue is the bar, no draught

Purchased meal deal but Extremely poor choice of menu for evening meal cooked by the girl on reception, refund offered an ate in the hungry horse around the corner, this Premier Inn has no pub attached but isn't made clear on website. Breakfast compleat shambles, many people complaining about the lengthy wait for items to be cooked. Rooms were standed Premier Inn, clean and comfortable.

  • 3/5 Mark W. 1 year ago on Google
+ Good room and location, to where i needed to be. - Staff always chatting in the kitchen, leaving guests at reception frustrated! Very poor "selection" of evening meals - best go next door to either the pub, or one of the fast food outlets

Everything about this place was stellar. The location being near Dudley Zoo & Castle, the Black Country Living Museum, eateries and bus stops was perfect for my partner and I to stroll around. The room was easily accessed by contactless keycards, and it was perfectly clean. Very comfortable beds, seating area, desks, and the bathroom facilities were top notch. Incredibly helpful and cheery staff. Zero complaints, I look forward to staying again in future!

Nice place. Great location. Four star service: great service, no faults other than breakfast buffet - order was taken and (cooked) food brought to table but no clear indication how to get more. Friendly staff and like I said, great service.

Room was a bit grubby but I had a good sleep and a hearty breakfast. Restaurant staff were polite and friendly, reception not so much. Free parking and plenty of food outlets within a fee minutes walk.

When we arrived the automatic wasn't working, so had to call for someone to help. When they came was greeted with alright! Very odd way to welcome customers. The room was very clean but the internet was awful the TV information as what was on did work and the toilet got block on the first night . But after this the rest of the staff was friendly and very helpful.

Located near a hospital and main road so if you're a light sleeper, you can enjoy the sound of sirens every hour. Room is decently sized, bed is decent and there is AC, but no proper cupboard so not much space to store clothes. Bathroom wasn't great, it had a bad smell, likely due to plumbing, they don't have normal toilet paper and the bath shower isn't ideal. There is a restaurant but do yourself a favour and eat somewhere else if you can as the food is rubbish. Breakfast wasn't great either - I had the continental which tasted a day or two old, Flapjacks were heavy, hard and cold, croissant rock hard, they do an English breakfast but I'm not sure what that's like. Not the worst hotel I've stayed in but not great either, if there were more viable alternatives I would go somewhere else.

Great rooms, nice and clean 👌. A very quiet place to stay. Also a big thanks to the chef for boiling an egg for my 5 year old 😋. Well done keep up the good work 👍.

Very easy to get to, with facilities around it. Good car park, reception did the job and the receptionist was nice. Room smelt a bit stale though, might have been from the air con. But the beds were very comfortable and the curtains were black out which was good.

Fantastic stay last weekend at Premier Inn facilities are so clean staff are amazing. We arrived at reception right when the fire alarm started to go off but staff were great with responding and telling us where to go. It was a false alarm and we then got booked in at 1pm which is great because room was ready we check in wasn’t meant to be till 3pm. We stayed here because of the peaky blinders night at the Black Country museum and it’s around a 10min walk away from there. Also the town of Dudley where you can go for drinks is a matter of 5mins just past the zoo. The breakfast was included in the stay and was fantastic plenty to choose from like full English to pastries and fruits and cereals. The beds are so comfy and bathrooms are lovely and clean. You can tell the staff take care at this place and i recommend to stay here as you get more than what you pay for. Free parking as long as you let them know on arrival of your reg number. Will be staying here again next year
