Mike in the restaurant was very welcoming. He went out of his way to make my husband an impressive omelette for breakfast, even though it wasn't on the menu. Customer service outstanding, especially with the way things are today. Its very nice to still have nice people with a warm 😃 smile. Thanks Mike

Stayed one night for the Commonwealth Games, still good value for money even when all around were inflating their prices. Rooms were immaculate and ours had a nice view of the canal turn round point. Parking was very easy, although the app to pay the 24hr fee was a bit of a faff. Worth it though as it’s a bargain. Easy to access the train or bus stations to get places, car best left were it is! We paid for the breakfast, which, as with other P.Inns was very good and in a nice bright eating area.

Since it was built we have always stayed here when visiting family and they are helpful. We stayed last weekend when it was so hot we had the air con on and wasn't helping me so I had the door open with a chair one of the workers saw me and went and got me a big fan was so helpful .

Stayed here after our original booking was cancelled due to flooding, and we had to stay elsewhere. Why the company just cancels and refunds your booking instead of trying to relocate you seems bizarre to me. Talk about lack of customer service? Anyway, ending up here, was 5 minutes from our original destination and no major problem. The car park is “offsite” but actually next to the hotel. It is charged though as it’s managed by a parking company. Although you can get a special rate if you are in the hotel, so why they can’t negotiate free parking for hotel guests is beyond me. The room was lovely, quite spacious for two adults a teenager and toddler. The menu in the room mentions a kids play zone in the restaurant… they don’t have one! - A downside of having corporate marketing information and not individual to the hotel. The food is reasonable, typical pub food and served with a smile, although fairly expensive for the portions and quality. The local area is busy but a couple of floors up you don’t hear anything. The room was very comfortable and had loads of room. I am guessing this is a newer build as it was quite modern and well equipped. Breakfast was great however, loads of choice and the kids are free with the adult meals. We all managed to get fed without the usual quibbles of “I don’t like that”. So it started the day well. Overall not a bad stay. I have deducted a star for the lack of free parking and misleading room information. Also the fact we had to rebook instead of their booking team actually helping us instead of making us pay again and wait for a refund for the first. The air con and space make up for one star though. So a 13/15 from me

Check-in was easy and the ladies at the front desk were so helpful and friendly. Parking was a bit of a faff as the machine isn't easy to use but after conferring with the ladies, I was able to get the correct tariff. Room was clean and tidy. David behind the bar was fabulous and very patient with my elderly father. All in all it was a great stay and we recommend it 100%!

Based right by the wharf with bars, cinema, cafe and shops galore. Kind, patient and helpful staff if sometimes not in synch from night to day shift. Well worth doing consecutive nights

Good hotel. They have to try to improve a little bit the room cleaning. But is ok.

Stayed here for 4 nights, no issues! Room cleaning is on request, so just make sure to let reception know before 12pm each day if you'd like your room cleaned. Rooms are cleaned to a very high standard and are genuinely spotless. A couple qualms I have are that there's no conditioner in the rooms, so people with longer hair may wish to bring their own Beds are spacious and comfy, exactly as you'd expect for premier inn. Our room came with 4 sockets, which was plenty for us but if you need to charge any more devices or are travelling as a slightly larger group, you may appreciate bringing an extension lead. Passports are required for non British/Irish/Commonwealth citizens, as is pretty standard around the UK. Overall, a 5 star experience.

My sister and her family came to visit me in Walsall but had some issues checking in. We later realised that the booking was made for the previous day, which was no fault if the hotel. Harriet at reception was absolutely outstanding, her customer service skills were tremendous, she went above and beyond to ensure my sisters booking was reinstated with no charge, she handled it the whole situation very well. Harriet is great asset to your company and I hope she continues to make to do well.

Hotel was fine, clean rooms and friendly staff, with a warm welcome, however the pull out bed was quite small width wise and very uncomfortable, rather lumpy, the hotel had run out of extra pillows, apparently everyone wanted extra,,, we did get one extra out of the two we had asked for.,,, All in all it was a good stay, food was nice and there were about 70 of us adults and chlidren, So did take a while getting us all served!!! I would go again but next time book an extra room for a better bed.

This premier inn is one of the better ones. Good location, plenty of places to eat. Service was good and the rooms were very clean and tidy much better than other ones I have visited.

Very basic, for the price could include a small fridge, shower power poor and bit stingy on towels. Staff very friendly, apart from last day, very slow on topping up coffee, beans etc..

This is a great location to stay. Everything is within walking distance, shopping and restaurants/eateries. We stayed for the maximum nine nights/ten days. When checking in and checking out, the same lady employee provided outstanding customer service. Our room was nice but had stains on the carpet and the purple lounge chase that the stains need to be removed or replaced. There were only two elevators and one broke down the day after we checked in and was fixed the day before we checked out. It was the service elevator and employees would have to occupy the only elevator working, which was not a service elevator. The following items are no longer provided in the room: telephone, lamp, clock. The fire alarm kept randomly going off for us to evacuate the room and there was no fire. This is why there needs to be a telephone in the room to automatically notify guests of false alarms. We requested our full room to be cleaned, they did not change the sheets and just made the bed, and they did not give us clean drinking glasses and mugs, they just wiped them out and put them back, which is nasty and not healthy sanitary. I would recommend for short stays and not for long stays.

A great team with a warm welcome, greeting each and every customer and doing everything they can to make sure their stay is memorable for all the right reasons.

We had a bad journey topped with me losing my cash cards. Shannon and Jasmine went the extra mile. Also again a Birthday card as when we've stayed before. Nothing too much for any of the staff. Well done all at the Wharf Premier Inn Walsall

My husband and I spent the night here a few nights ago. There is a car park but it's not owned by the hotel so you do have to pay which is £3.50 for the night. That wasn't bad. The problem we had was trying to pay online 🙄 it kept booting us off the website. Luckily enough, the reception staff were lovely and helped us. Previously working for Premier Inn as a room attendant supervisor, I have a habit of inspecting the rooms when I stay at one of their hotels. I could not fault anything in my room. No dust anywhere, no stray hairs lingering, and the kettle had been descaled. Cups and glasses were clean. The bed was comfy 😌 and the bath was amazing (lovely and deep for those who prefer baths than showers). Only let down was the room was quite warm for November even without the heating on and the room has no air conditioning. There was no noise to complain about as the hotel was quiet considering the number of people that were staying there. There is a restaurant downstairs brewers fair that you can have a meal and some drinks in, and the hotel also does a meal deal for £24.99 where you can have a 2 course evening meal with a drink and then unlimited breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful all in all a great place to stay.

Decent hotel. Not too expensive and good location. Parking next door. I enjoyed my stay. Stayed 3 nights. The only negative thing is that all 3 mournings the coffee machine at the breakfast was out of order. Cannot believe that they didn’t find an alternative solution for this.. they only had hot water and sachets with powder. That’s why only 3 stars and not 5

Comfy beds. Rooms were clean and spacious. Courtney on the desk was so lovely and helpful! Wait until you’re inside the hotel before paying for car park. You’ll get a cheaper rate with the code that’s in reception

An absolutely beautiful room, very neat and tidy, with glasses and cups ready on arrival. The towels were very soft and the bath was lovely and deep, perfect for relaxing in! When my room mate needed more towels, the staff were brilliant at looking after us and making sure that we had what we needed. Thanks once again to the staff for being so wonderful and helpful. A side note, you do have to pay for on site parking via an app called PayByPhone, but it is not expensive (£3.70 until 11am the next day, depending on what time you book it).

Amazing stay. Best hotel in the area. Staff were truly one of a kind, really friendly, helpful and thoughtful. Hotel and room was clean and beds were really comfortable. Food was nice too! Will definitely be returning.

Excellent rooms with a view of the waterfront. Triple glazed windows mean a quiet night. Close to the town centre, with a bar below, that also serves all you can eat breakfast.

Budget hotel, so I didn't expect 5-Star service. Room was clean and quiet, but I didn't expect to see a bathtub in the bathroom. Not complaining - had I known I would have packed some bath salts! Luckily I'm 6'1", but if you're short, get ready to climb into bed, and believe me, it IS a climb! The hotel is only 1 minute away from the town centre, meaning stocking up on supplies is no problem. Breakfast buffet is served downstairs, but only if you pay in advance, and TFI Fridays and Nandos are only a few minutes away. You may even wish to watch the latest blockbuster at the nearby cinema. Staff was helpful, but check-in time could have been saved if the electronic check-in points were actually functioning, and you may wish to take a hot water bottle with you, I was cold. Nevertheless, great birthday treat for myself, but would I visit again? Absolutely!

Travelled here with my friend Bridget for her birthday. The Welcome from the staff was Lovely and Welcoming. The room was lovely and cosy, nice and warm. Breakfast was Great what a Variety of foods. The Staff even went above and beyond and left us some biscuits on our room with a wee note saying Welcome to Warlsall and enjoy your stay

We came here for a Mothers Day dinner. Carvery had finished although the website said it should still be on. Food was acceptable. Staff were lovely.

I like this place and dislike this place in equal proportions. The bad: car park is £3.50 per night 5pm till 9am, no cctv, very tight spaces and full of large vans bigger than the spaces so parking a car is risky. The rooms very often smell of cigarette smoke and the windows don’t open so no way of getting fresh air if the room does smell. The good is that the rooms are a good size and comfortable, the breakfast is good and staff very friendly.

Always look after you and happy to help with whatever you need. Don't forget to add your registration to the machine in the hotel if you park at side. And press hotel guests on the machine in the car park for a discount price.

Great central location, the late check in went smoothly, the room was in line with other premier inn hotels that I've visited. The parking instructions were confusing. The nearby parking is a Euro Car Parks - Waterfront car park is the nearby car parking. There is a hotel rate for overnight parking £3.50 - which the car park sign says it finishes at 9.30- hotel says it finishes at 10.30 but who knows!?

This hotel provides great service, price, rooms and location. The hotel is 10 minutes walking distance from Walsall Rail Station and is surrounded by venues for food and drink. The staff are hospitable and friendly. The hotel is modern and clean. The bar and restaurant are a good choice for refreshments and socialising. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The bed is perfect with good firm pillows for sleeping. The amenities are of a good standard. The price is an exceptional rate, and they could charge more. Highly recommended if staying in the area.

Stayed here when attending Commonwealth Games. Easy to travel to and from the stadium. Standard Premier Inn comfy rooms. Friendly staff despite being so busy. Car parking is a pain and they need to make it clearer about picking up and dropping off. Best to use a parking app to find less expensive nearby parking

Decent hotel with friendly staff. Room was spacious and clean. Good central location. Be mindful you have to pay for parking in the adjacent car park. Also, would not recommend the Brewers Fayre restaurant that is attached to the hotel.

Middle of town so a good location with plenty of shops and bars close by. Same to other premier inns standards but the staff were helpful and more than happy to assist with any questions.

The hotel and rooms are good. Clean, comfy and a good location. The restaurant is best avoided though. Not enough staff, food slow and not cooked properly.....just glad I didn't have to pay for it

My first time using Premier Inn and I can say I will use them again. Staff were very friendly; and helpful place was very clean. Room was clean, TV was slow to change channels and only had Freeview so limited for choice. but this was minor issue.

  • 5/5 Sue H. 1 year ago on Google
I was in a disabled room, my bed and walk in shower room where spotless. But the carpet, one easy chair and the chair at the desk could do with a deep clean. There was a smell like dirty socks , think it was from the carpet, get some Shake n Vac if you can't deep clean it. The staff where excellent, polite and very helpful, a credit to you all. The evening meal let you down, chicken and mushroom pie ... No chicken in it ... And it left a nasty taste in your mouth. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of everything 😋😋

Sitting in Premier Inn for over 1 hour, only to told they had lost our food order. Dirty plates still laying about on tables, limited staff. All in all not impressed. The poor people that use the hotel and rely on this restaurant. I feel sorry for them. Won't be returning.

  • 3/5 Neil E. 2 years ago on Google
They've changed it all round so the satnav sends you right through the bus lane. The hotel could easily warn customers about it. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was nice, but cold. Staff all good.

Better than expected. Well located in town with some restaurants nearby. Car parking is extra although inexpensive. Room is a good size and clean.
