I found this gem of a place quite accidentally. We were looking for a quiet place where we could spend a weekend while the COVID epidemic is still raging. I found this place while browsing through the hotels in the area in the maps. I was not sure what to expect when they said charges are Rs. 1000 per person per night. When we arrived we instantly realized this is the ideal place. Latheena Resort has a beautiful sandy beach in the back, which stretches for more than couple of miles. I enjoyed morning jogs in the beach, and I could run up to Weligama town, on the beach without interruption. Children couldn't get enough of playing in the beach and bathing in the sea. It was very child friendly property. The family who looks after the property are great hosts. They were friendly and helpful. It has it's own restaurant which serves a variety of Sri Lankan, 'Sri Lankan' Chinese, Italian and Mexican dishes. Prices a reasonable. There are a number of restaurants near by which served amazing food as well. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. They had quality mattresses for a good sleep. Air conditioning was working properly. There are few things I can complain about. Although the whole property was maintained in a reasonable good condition effects or COVID on tourism were showing. There were few things that were not maintained like the stacked tables on a side and the front garden which gives the place a run down look. All in all it was great value for money and we enjoyed our stay much.

Latheena is the best hotel and restaurant in weligama! The owners are a beautiful family, the hotel is in a beautiful and quite beach where you can surf, and I loved every food that I tried there. The breakfast is amazing! There are 8 different options. I recommend it 100%

They have a very friendly staff.They know what hospitality is all about. It is located near the sea. Special mention should be made of their fujisan restaurant.The food there is very delicious and they charge a very reasonable amount for it.As far as I know the manager has 15 years of experience in Japanese food. you can enjoy your delicious meal while enjoying the sea breeze.

Hotel beds where good, not too hard or soft. Breakfast was good with fresh fruits. Location of the hotel and restaurant is very nice by the beach away from the crowd and noise. Restaurant was so good! Excellent food made by Japanese chef who also is the owner. Before sunset they move tables to the beach so you can watch the sunset while you drink or eat by the sea.

Good food, reasonable prices. Once we came to then in breakfast time when they were serving breakfasts only, but waiter agreed to take an order for the main menu. And that was very nice

I never stayed here. I booked on Expedia and I got charged for the booking but when I showed up they said they don't accept bookings from Expedia. I was not refunded the money, and I kindly asked the owner to resolve the problem, never resolved. It's a nice place, but don't book on Expedia or you will be robbed.

One of the most amazing locations if you want to stay right on the beach. You can have you private Bonfire at night and go endless surfing during the day. The rooms are old colonial British style with attached toilet and bathroom. The management is extremely helpful and they went out of their way to help us. They have a wonderful restaurant which serves mind blowing dishes. I would definitely recommend this place to people who want to stay a little bit away from crowd.

Amazing place! We could not have find a better place to be confined... Lovely people, helpful, kind and generous. The food is fantastic, we have never being left down. I would definitely recommend visiting the place, the location is a great reason to come but the family running it and their staff is the best reason not to leave.

Wonderful stay. Friendly staff. Delicious foods. Will must go there again for few nights. Clean, tidy and comfort.

Such a Wonderful awesome place with natural environment. Staff is very helpful and tried to make every wish possible at all time. Food are so delicious . Very Calm and Quite environment . Would highly recommend to anyone considering staying here.All Tip Top
