Best rice and curry I've had in Sri Lanka! They prepare everything from scratch when you order and you can really tell. The owner is super nice too and they take care of you the whole time. Do not miss this place when passing through or staying in Weligama!

Don’t look further. Best restaurant in Weligama by far. The food, the family, the atmosphere, the price! I am by far not a vegetarian and tend to run away when I see it on the menu and somehow I fell in love with their vegetarian dish and the 6 curry that goes with it. Try it you won’t regret it!

WhatsApp messaged the restaurant beforehand per website's instructions and was served fairly promptly on arrival. I would recommend doing that rather than just showing up else service will likely be slow. There are also only four tables so you may wait a long time if they are full already which I imagine is often because this place is popular. Pretty good calamari curry and rice! Huge portions. Note that pricing is a bit confusing: if you order calamari curry then you pay 350/- for the calamari and then 600/- for the rice and everything else that comes with your meal. Still such a reasonable cost for really good home cooking! I didn't try their dessert but it looked really good. Also note they are open every day from 6p to 11p. Enjoy!

Family run cute restaurant, their specialty is multiple curries served with rice. Being one person, I passed on that and went for the prawn single curry. Small portion, but BIG flavor. Very delicious I left satisfied.

If you’re in Weligama you have to try the food here it is PHENOMENAL! It was hard to come across authentic Sri Lankan food unfortunately as most restaurants in Weligama were Pan Asian or western. This place is vegetarian friendly and ordered the all veggie platter, prawn curry, egg curry and chicken curry. I suggest everyone to skip most restaurants in Weligama as they’re owned by foreigners and support local, family runner restaurant like Miri. Thank you to the Miru family your food and hospitality was amazing!

Had a perfect dinner tonight! I can definitely recommend this place. Me and my boyfriend ordered the rice and curry and a lime juice and everything was sooo good! The lime juice was probably the best so far in Sri Lanka. The rice and curry was a huge portion and super super delicious. We loved it! Beside that the owner is super nice and friendly. He even offered us a ride to our homestay in Weligama! Moreover, the seating area is very cozy. The restaurant is a small family business and everything is cooked and served freshly. Definitely check out this place!

What a lovely family-owned and operated restaurant. The place is small (only four tables), the food is cooked fresh and to order, and the kindness of the family is unmatched. The food is absolutely wonderful and the portions are large. We ordered the vegetable curry, which includes 6 dishes, plus a chicken and a prawn curry. Everything was delicious! Really loved the pumpkin curry and the eggplant. But everything was so tasty, we'll be back again in a few days. 10 out of 10!

My second time here in 2 days and I didn't belive that I would be able to enjoy it today as much as yesterday... but I was proven wrong. Out of the 3 dishes I tried I can't decide which is my favorite, but the curry and rice and prawn Currys are a must try here. Very clean place, very fresh ingredients and a amazing vibes.

Wonderful cosy place with homemade food, as a family holds it. Note that for same reason the service is not fast, so don’t count for a quick snack and run. Come if you have time to chill, wait and enjoy wonderful curry. ❤️ Prawns curry - the best. As well as banana milkshake. Prices are wonderfully moderate.

Excellent rice and curry. Real homemade food. We asked it non-spicy for the children and it was perfect. My children loved it so much we had to order more. Prawn curry was a favourite. Clean and neat place with excellent customer service.

If you want to eat a fresh, delicious, yet affordable meal, prepared by a wonderful family, then Miru is the place to be! A hidden gem amongst all the tourist traps on the beach. Would definitely recommend to support this cute family-run restaurant!

One of the best dinner experiences in a long time! The family was very friendly and the food beyond tasty 🥰 we even got asked whether we would like a second portion of some of the dishes for free because we told them how good they were. We will be back soon!

The food was delicious and way too much. When something was finished they brought us something again. We had the vegetarian curry where you get 6 different bowls of curries and I can highly recommend it. Furthermore, the prices are really fair and local.

Miru restaurant is a family-owned restaurant in Weligama. We had a veggie rice & curry which was among the best ones we had in our two-week stay in LK. The prices are SO reasonable (especially for the area). If you are desperately trying to avoid western food and love to eat local, this is the place to go!

We loved this place and came couple of times while we stayed in Weligama. This little restaurant is a part of home of family who runs the business, so you literally sit on their courtyard. They serve homemade local curry which is one of the best we have tried in Sri Lanka. We found out that you should order vegetable curry as a base (including 6 different curries or chutneys with rice) and then you can add some more different curries in an extra bowl (fish, chicken, calamari etc). When we were two or three, we just shared one vegetable curry and one or two more extra curries and it was way enough. Their list of desserts looks so great but we could never make it as we we’re always extremely full 😂
