INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! We ate at Locale on the off chance during our trip to Sri Lanka and honestly was amazing! The food was beyond delicious, the service was amazing and the location stunning on the beach front! A MUST VISIT if you are in Weligama! We ordered 3 mains as couldn’t decide - we had pork shoulder, Ragu pasta and tuna and all incredible, plus we had delicious cocktails to finish our meal! Thanks so much for our amazing experience!

Wow! This is how a restaurant should be done! Unique and delicious cocktails made perfectly. Best cocktails I’ve had (and I’m so picky)! Food was incredible. Very highly recommend!

We have been in and around Sri Lanka for over a week, we unanimously feel that this restaurant was beyond all others. The atmosphere was clean and beautiful, service was friendly and professional but the food was just….amazing. Fresh, delicious, and obviously done with fresh products. My only wish was to have a bigger stomach to try everything!

The person who runs this place has some magical energy❤️ I just called them to check if they have live music on that day, (they didn't) but the guy was so friendly, offered to check at other places and gave me call back with recommendations! Melted my heart how kind and sweet he was! I'll definitely be back to Weligama and pay a visit to Locale! God bless you!

Definitely one of the best spots down south. Perfectly sized delicious portions, pork knuckle with wedges were cooked to perfection. Extremely clean and comfortable rooms and a gracious host and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely return soon !

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Locale during my trip to Sri Lanka and let me tell you, it was the best experience ever! The staff at Locale were absolutely amazing. They were always so friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. From recommending the best places to visit, to helping us book transportation, they were truly exceptional. The food at Locale was out of this world! The chefs are truly talented and the meals and cocktails were all so delicious. Plus, the brunch spread was simply fantastic. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. We had a fantastic view of the ocean from our balcony and enjoyed watching the sunset every evening. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of exploring. And last but not least, the location of Locale couldn't be better. It's situated in the heart of Weligama, right on the beach, which makes for some stunning views. We loved being able to walk out of the hotel and onto the sand within seconds. Overall, I can't recommend Locale enough. If you're planning a trip to Sri Lanka, this is the place to stay. The amazing staff, delicious food, beautiful rooms, and perfect location all combine to make it an unforgettable experience.

This is absolutely one of my absolute favourite places in Weligama! It's got fine dining quality food in a lovely rustic setting, with probably the best cocktails on offer. I am absolutely in love with their Negronis & Gin Aviation. A must visit when in Weligama!

First visit for lunch. We came after getting drenched on whale watching boat in Mirissa. We had great service and the food came out quickly. I did observe that other tables struggled because they had newer staff who weren't so good at English. Really enjoyed the octopus starter and chicken for mains. Definitely recommend if you're passing by Weligama and looking for an alternative venue instead of the big hotels.

Locale is a true hidden gem on the shores of Weligama. The food was divine, the cocktails beautiful and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming! It certainly is a must do if you are hitting the southern shores of Sri Lanka!! Special thanks to Wendell who made the night even more magical for us 😊

We stayed 4 night in a comfortable stylish LOCALE room and restaurant became the nicest surprise. Delicious breakfast a la carte (till midday!!!) was included in the room price and we had all our dinners here too. Loved a choice of fresh fish on the menu! Friendly staff and very attentive, professional and charming owner Highly recommended !

100% best food and cocktails in Weligama. We ended up eating here almost every day of our 10 days vacation. Tuna steak was truly special - must try for sure! Variety of traditional and unusual brunch dishes.

Locale is definitely the go to spot for incredible cocktails, delicious one of a kind food, and epic parties. I have a massive love affair with the dance floor and it’s disco ball, and have spent so many memorable nights with the great staff that keeps Locale groovy. With a fantastic brunch and plenty of live music in the evenings, this gem has something for everyone. Perfect for those cozy date nights, or a fun night out with friends!

The food and cocktails here are absolutely 10/10! Wendell is such an incredible host and you can see how much love he puts into his food and cocktails! My favorite part about Locale is that I can always hear great music, and that it's the perfect place for a romantic dinner AND a fantastic party. I've spent birthday's, NYE, and many Friday nights here and each time I leave with a happy tummy and a huge smile.

If you’re an epicurean this gem of a spot is a must! Locally sourced and hand picked menu from an extremely talented chef. Cocktails with passion fruit and fresh coconut milk were outstanding. The only difficult bit was deciding what to have - we wanted everything on the menu. If you’re in Weligama and you’re looking to treat yourself, this is definitely a great place. Excellent service, quality and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

A truly wonderful experience!!! I have no enough words to describe our awesome experience at Locale. From the friendliness and proactive approach of all the staff members to the courteous management Wendell. The place is across a beautiful quiet beach and 5 min walk from the buzz. We stayed there few nights while in Weligama and after visiting other cities in the south we decided to go back to Locale for few more days before we departed.Food is delicious and fairly priced, the bartender Jayson delighted us with some tasty cocktails, the music curated by the resident DJ Ben was on point. An overall wonderful experience that we would definitely repeat soon.
