The Sea Salt Society in Kurumba Bay Weligama is a mixed bag. On one hand, the dishes are overpriced and the portion sizes are small. The taste was average and the service was just okay. I noticed that the staff seemed to give better service to foreigners. On the other hand, the location is great, set in a chill spot in Kurumba Bay. The coffee, which is made with "ily" beans, is overpriced but the taste is good. However, the presentation could be better, it seems like they should have hired a proper barista to make the most of the expensive beans. Overall, I'd give my experience a 3.5/5 rating.

Really nice ‚fancy’ food court style bar! we tried Crab Pot in sweet chili souce which was super good and surprisingly filling. also Funky Tuna was an interesting creation - pizza style on very thin crust with large tuna chunks.

Delicious, but small and expensive. For the same money, it is better to go to Nomad across the street and get 2 times larger portions. Sitting on the shore is cool. They cook quickly. There are a lot of package tourists who spoil the view. Sometimes children scream.

Okay so this place SLAPS. New so not enough em reviews yet. The crab pot. Is. Insane. Ismail is a incredible host so friendly, the right amount of chatty. The butter chicken curry also great. Must order tuna tataki.

We stayed at the Sea Salt Society for two nights. The Staff was very friendly and attentive and we felt very welcomed. The rooms were beautifully designed and decorated. Although we really liked the rooms, both of them had some issues. In the first one the air conditioning was not working and we were not able to open or close the door without bringing up a lot of strength. So we moved to the other room. In the second one the ceiling was leaking water while it was raining and there was also water leaking out of the light switch. The cocktails were very good and tasty!

Food is amazing, please try Sri Lanka Prawn Curry, it’s delicious! Deep fried calamari is also super. The service was great, thanks to our waiter Osho :)

Good food (huge portions), I've taken a very good pizza. No alcoholic beverages but you can order in the Zephyr bar (10 meters) and they bring your cocktails / beers / pichet to your table

I had a crab pot and it was so tasty (even though it was hard to eat) and thank you to Teshan he was very welcoming and make me feel comfortable while I enjoy my food :)

The food was good. The portions could have been a bit bigger. The fish of the day (white snapper for us) was really good. The pasta was good but not a highlight

Great food, nice vibe with the open air restaurants and bar. The tuna tataki was a particular highlight, as well as the delicious cream curry. Alcoholic drinks have to be ordered from the bar across but they'll bring it right to your table

Unhappy with the way they treated! Didn’t even offer a table and said food will be ready in 2 hours. They didn’t want us to have us in their restaurant. Customer service is poor and I think they can’t remember that they survived because of locals when there were no foreigners during Covid period. We go there because we can afford to. But they looked at us in a very bad and disgusting way! Will never go their again and not recommend! We have dinner from another restaurant in Kurumba Bay. It was really nice. Its name is ISSO!

Great concept of public place with pool right at the beach, family friendly. Food is a mix of local and common international dish as you find everywhere here. Value for money is good. Nowadays places show prices in USD and for a day out you pay sometimes exorbitant prices. This concept should be seen more. People get treated all the same and special wishes for any food changes are no problem at all. Well done.

The 7.5 usd pasta with prawns had curry sauce which doesn't go well with prawns - basically it's curry with pasta instead of rice

Came twice to this place to have a breakfast. Couldn't order the loaded toast. Once there were no eggs to cook it, the second time there was no avocado. Also both times they didn't have coconut milk, which is presented in some positions in menu. Not to have products so typical for Sri Lanka is at least strange

I have been in Sri Lanka for a month. And I have to tell you that “Sea salt society” is one of my favorite places! First of all, they have the most delicious hamburger I've ever eaten here in Welligama. the tacos are also excellent for my taste. The service is perfect! Samir the manager and all the employees gave us everything we asked for and were always nice. It felt like family. Even though I received a strong blow to the head, I sat down there and Samir took care of me with ice and water. I highly recommend.

They have a super menu (tried the nachos, fish and chips, butter chicken, and pandan jelly) and the sweetest staff! I highly recommend Sea Salt Society!

Island prawns and the calamari starter were both great, staff was friendly and the place super nice in a cool „beach club“ vibe environment. (Only my garlic rice was a bit dry but I forgive you ;) )

We had late lunch/dinner here and food is amasing, very tasty Sri Lankan platter with exceptional homemade rotti. Stuff is super friendly and location almost on the beach.

We ate here multiple times during our stay in Weligama. Food was always really good, freshly prepared and worth the price from a taste perspective but portions a bit on the smaller side.

Good portions , tastes great, quick and friendly service. Reasonable prices considering inflation these days. Our son loved the cheese pasta. 👍🏻

👍👍 Good food, great staff and quick service. We had the karaage chicken and seaweed nachos for appetizers and tuna and prawns poke bowls for mains. Their sauces were pretty amazing including the Kochchi Mayo

👍👍 Amazing Lebanese restaurant! The service was great, doesn't take long to get your food. The staff are friendly and accomodating! Went back to try most of the mains as we were in Weligama for a week. Highly recommend the hummus with meat, fajitas, prawns and shawarma.
