Bad customer service is one thing but making fun of foreigners and mocking them is so disrespectful. At the wine shop we pretty much got ignored even when the worker was at the counter. Another worker pushed in front of us to get change (I get it but the way she did it was so rude) then literally in front of my partner and I they started mocking customers. I don’t speak their language but they were saying in English ‘do you have change’ repeatedly in a mocking voice then in their language they started making fun of my partner and I for asking what they had and their prices.. constantly looking back at us and laughing. I had to walk away before I said something to disrespect them OUT OF POLITENESS. At the counter the same lady was serving 2 girls in front of us, said absolutely nothing and was practically throwing things in the bags with a big thud. The worker then put so much stuff in 1 bag that it nearly broke so the girls asked politely to have another bag and then she made them fix it. Came to us and we got the exact same experience. To me this is not acceptable and owners should train their workers to be A LOTmore polite

Ah, weary adventurers, gather 'round as I recount our tale of thirst, intrigue, and the epic quest for refreshment! 'Twas but a fleeting sojourn from Unawatuna to Mirissa when parched lips and arid throats led us to the doors of Cargills Food City, a supermarket nestled within the bustling confines of Weligama. Alas, dear friends, our parched palates were met not with the oasis we yearned for, but a purgatory of pungent scents and chaotic crowds. What travesty, what cruel twist of fate, had led us to this forsaken realm of malodorous misery? We braved the teeming masses, our spirits undaunted, our quest for quenching unquenched. Yet, the staff seemed to be as lost as we, navigating the pandemonium with nary a clue. One bewildered soul even took to brandishing a rag as if it were a weapon, narrowly missing our intrepid selves. Oh, the horror! In our darkest hour, we could only weep for the good citizens of Weligama, who must daily endure the maddening labyrinth that is Cargills Food City. If but a solitary word of wisdom could be gleaned from our harrowing journey, let it be this: Beware, thirsty travelers, and venture not into this den of chaos! 🚫🌪️🥤

Pretty small, but had the stuff we needed for our baby, diapers and formula. There is a bottle shop in the back. Small aisles with a pushchair tho. Lots of spices and rice, fresh produce etc. Great fish counter, crazy cheap fish. Tuna and shrimp 6 usd a kilo. Feb 23

Very poor service. No enough staff in the outlet. I came around 7.00pm. 04 cashier counters are there. But only 02 counters are functioning. There are big queue because of that. Only one person is available in vegetable counter are. Many people are waiting to take her assistance. No any sales assistant available to get any help or support. I think this outlet need more staff to provide quick and efficient service to their customer. And also, most of the customers are foreigners. This experience gives a bad impression to them as well. The management must pay their special attention to this. Thank you!

It's the only supermarket in Weligama so hard to complain but the check out counter takes forever and it seems like the workers work very slowly. The selection of food is hit or miss as they might not have what you bought today in a few days when you go back so I would recommend buying more if you find something you like. it's not very organised and you need to check the price of each item as they sometimes/often put things in the wrong place. There is parking out front and masks are required.

The worst customer service I have seen in a long time. Our oats had moths in them and were already open when we had bought them. The managers didn’t seem to care and wanted to charge us extra to replace the product we had bought. Also, fruits and vegetables are way more expensive than at that stands around the place.

Very friendly front staff to the security guards in front and cashiers. They sell alcohol here; green sign. Some empty shelves but not the store's fault as Sri Lanka is going through some difficult times at the moment.

Went there to pick up some munchies and refreshments. Rating a 3 because there were no cold drinks at all and the checkout took forever. Otherwise, nice place to pick up some food, fruit, or drinks, at reasonable prices.
