Hi,
I
wanted
to
share
our
Sail
Lanka
experience
about
our
Mirissa
Whale
Watching
trip
on
the
boat
JADE
today.
We
-
family
4
PAX
-
booked
via
WA
just
one
day
ahead
and
we
were
assured
that
there
are
only
18-20
PAX
total
on
board
including
us.
One
of
us
got
sick
and
couldn’t
join.
No
money
back
and
23
Pax
total
onboard.
So,
they
overbooked
by
20%.
Then
there
is
nothing
about
sailing.
It’s
a
diesel
yacht
w/o
the
usage
of
any
sail
at
any
moment!
Very
choppy
sea.
No
sight
of
whales
only
2
dolphins
for
5min.
At
the
end
of
a
6
hours
cruise
along
the
coast
they
stopped
150m
in
front
of
the
harbour
to
let
us
swim.
Another
family
left
the
boat
early
by
water
taxi.
We
started
late
and
finished
more
than
30min.
early
w/o
explanation.
Communication
with
the
crew
is
minimal.
E.g.
we
saw
Sri
Lankas
most
southern
point
with
Dondra
lighthouse.
No
comments
from
anybody.
No
snorkeling,
no
SUP.
Service,
friendliness
and
food
is
good
for
a
boat
trip.
Whereas
welcome
drinks
and
refreshments
drinks
on
an
European
price
level
could
be
so
much
more
than
just
water.
Extremely
disappointing
and
absolutely
not
worth
the
money:
4
adults:
$408,-
plus
$18,-
wildlife
fee
per
adult.
The
repeated
claim
is
a
50:50
chance
of
seeing
whales.
Due
to
other
reports
I
doubts
this
probability
very
much.
