Delicious food and amazing hosts!

Amazing Place! The owners are lovely people and the staff are excellent. They are really friendly and welcoming. It was easily the best pizza I have ever had. I asked the Chef to make it extra spicy which he did. They also had some really nice red wine. You have to book a day in advance if you want a table because the place is always busy. Highly recommended.

I would walk 500 miles for their ravioli!! The pesto, vegan cheese and torte caprese made my heart and stomach happy. A real treat for vegans / vegetarian foodies!

This is a must visit restaurant in Weligama! They probably have the best pizza in Sri Lanka! :) We can really recommend to have the miniburger as a starter and then add the burrata to any pizza you like! Magic!

Very disappointed for authentic italian restaurant. We ordered 4 pizzas, the calzone was ok but the others were very dry and really poor garnisehd. Pizzas arrived one by one. The room is very noisy and difficult to hear each other.

It's really annoying that some people here influence the ratings negative due, I am quite sure, there own faults as the service here is outstanding and the restaurant seems super busy. We were lucky and arrived early enough before the place got full. The Pizza is simply awesome and as Italian as it can be. Anyone saying something different is perhaps better served at Domino's 😃 No idea how you manage to get those ingredients in Sri Lanka and I am quite sure this justifies the "higher" prices (it's still just 10-13 euro). Definitely check it out if you love Pizza and need something different then Roti and Curry for a change :)

Best Pizza in Town, if not on the whole island! Real Italian pizza, no fakes like elsewhere. Italian cook making a delicious pizza after another, waiting times are very short, huge accomplishment for the standards in town. Very recommended if you are looking to treat yourself with an authentic pizza!

Great pizza. I've been here several times and it never disappointed. Might get busy in the evening. Make a reservation or prepare to wait a bit.

I live in Sri Lanka and order for myself and my guests on regular basis from Rise. In my opinion this is by a long mile the best restaurant in Weligama in terms of food quality and service. We are never disappointed in the contrary take back by the amazing flavours the restaurant offers and high quality of produce. The service by Fraser and his team is super quick could never fault the team. Absolute professionals! If in Weligama Rise is must try.

Review for the pizza. Authentic taste and crazy good service! I closely observed my waiter and he was constantly scanning the floor to see if anyones body language said they need something. Going to come again and again :)

I am very pleased to make this review. I have first met Kate years ago and happy to see that she materialized her project into this lovely place. The decoration is very nicely done with a shop section including quite unique products. The food was fantastic. I first had an aperol spritz, feels good to enjoy this drink in area. The pizza is simply great. The dow is perfect and I can only imagine that long iterations have led to this result. I had the caminetto which is a pleasure to eat with aubergine, scamorza and speck. Congratulations for this achievement. It is quite unexpected to have such a quality pizza in this part of the world. Wishing you to enjoy a well deserved success !

Amazing pizza! As if I was in Italy. Great Italian chef in the kitchen and his wife came say hello. They made the Buratta fresh and have great red wine. Definitely recommend to go here. It’s a bit pricey, but totally worth it :)

Rise is amazing! We spend 8 days in the guest house and almost ordered the entire menu: pizzas, ravioli, gnocchi, chicken salad and bruschettas. We were always extremely satisfied with the delicious food. We really felt home here. As an Italian man I can definitely say that Simone's pizza let you enjoy an amazing Italian food experience! The best vegan pizza in Sri Lanka. The homemade vegan cheese and pesto are excellent. The owner and the manager are super welcoming and friendly. They make sure to provide excellent service. Need to book a table in advance. However, I wish there were even more vegan options :) Prices are reasonable for their quality. They accept credit cards, which is a huge plus.

We spent our first 2 nights at Rise! Kate is wonderful, super friendly and so helpful with loads of recommendations. The pizza is SO good! Rooms are clean and so nice to have aircon. We would recommend.

This is the most delicious food that we encountered during our stay in Weligama and neighboring villages. Admittedly, I may be biased towards familiar Italian cuisine, but the food is actually delicious. What matters even more — it’s reliably and consistently delicious! A lot of other places suffer from unpredictable variability in taste and customer service quality, but here every time of total five times I enjoyed myself immensely. A bit more about my experience: - there are a lot of vegan options and they are just as tasty as regular menu - we’ve seen the same people coming back several times and becoming regulars along with us - when we tried delivery, it got delayed by an hour, because the driver got lost delivering the previous order, but our food nevertheless arrived hot, which was a very pleasant surprise to us

Delicious and really Italian pizza, hospitable cheerful hosts and a warm welcome. After sitting down we were provided with free fresh and cooling water. The pizza itself was handmade with crunchy side, juicy sauce a a magnificent burrata on top. We were glad to visit such a place for our anniversary😁 It was the best experience. Will gladly come again if the opportunity allows👍

I had a 3 day stay at Rise over Christmas. Absolutely loved it. My room was clean, decor was tasteful and a great location. I’m vegetarian and the options were all amazing. I can’t recommend the gnocchi enough! Mimi is an awesome host and chef. Can’t wait to come back. 🤍

Rise is one of the very few proper restaurants along the South Coast. It ticks all the boxes. The interior is lovely, the service was faultless and the food... absolutely delicious. The ravioli was the best I've ever eaten and paired a with an exceptional red wine. Can't wait to go back.

The place is very nice and staff friendly and professional. The pizza did not match my expectation based on the venue and prices. You could tell the ingrediantes are good quality but overall, for a neapolitanian pizza it was too thick and felt a bit heavy. The taste was a bit flat for me. Overall I would not visit again.

Bella ciao, Rise was a small holiday in itself, an authentic Italian escape just a few footsteps away from Weligama. No joking around, the food was incredible, the wine was even better. Really nice pizza and pasta is delicious. ! We found Rise a little more expensive than other restaurants in Sri Lanka but nevertheless good food and service so we will definitely go back. Highly recommend a visit.

Spent 2 months on the south coast and dined here at least twice a week!. The staff are lovely and the menu has a great range of pizzas. I have tried almost everything on the menu. Many of the ingredients (cheeses, meats etc.) are imported, and flavours are authentic. The ravioli is incredible. Without a doubt the best Italian restaurant on the south coast of Sri Lanka.

We were the first guests of the season and stayed for 6 nights. We received a very warm welcome. The staff, owner and manager were always ready for us. They wanted us to try the Pizza before the big opening. We also ate in the restaurant two More times. The prices are a little higher, but it's good imported food and great quality (italien cook and taste)! We were very satisfied and would love to come back. Thank you Kate and Fraser! :)

Amazing! My husband and I make it a point to come here when we’re in Weligama. The veggie salad is amazing, as is the pizza. And the bread! Everything tastes super fresh - definitely one of my favorite restaurants in all of the South.

I'm normally not that much into pizza, but this one was amazing! Sincerely, try whatever pizza that you like, the dough on which the pizza is put on, is amazing on its own and you won't be disappointed. For pizzeria, I strongly recommend to make a reservation in advance, as the place is usually totally full and it's hard to find a free table if you just decide to pop in randomly. Since there is an accommodation upstairs of this building, I stayed at this place for few nights with my boyfriend and we were very satisfied. The rooms are clean, well equipped and you can take free tapped water at the restaurant downstairs at any time. The best part of this accommodation was the host, which was also co-owner of the restaurant, that was very much willing to help us with anything that we needed, regarding tips and local recommendations. As a part of the accommodation, you have breakfast at the restaurant downstairs. There are few options to choose from, and you get great Italian coffee served with it. Our rooms where we stayed was a bit noisy, since it was oriented to the road in front of the building so I was sleeping with earplugs. But to be fair, this is more about my preference. I need very quiet environment to sleep without interruptions.

Fraser and the team were great! Very friendly, attentive, and took the time to get to know us. Bruschetta and pizzas were just what we wanted! Prices are high, but using authentic Italian ingredients and giving back to their staff even during the off season was a winner for us! You have to try this place.

Beautiful restaurant with great Italian food! The decor of the restaurant was really nice, warm, cosy and comfortable and the pizza we had was the real deal and tasted delicious. Service was also excellent and super friendly from both the owner and the staff. Rise even has a shop section, supporting local businesses. Delicious pizza from an authentic Italian chef. A must visit while in Weligama. We had the bruschetta to start which was absolutely delicious. Made with their home-made vegan pesto drizzled over the top, which I’m still craving more of now. We had pizzas for main course and both were gorgeous, and definitely the best we’ve tasted! The decor is really cool, lots of greenery and a chilled but fresh vibe to the place. We will return :)

Easily the best pizza in southern Sri Lanka (and possibly the whole of Sri Lanka) by some distance. The crust is perfect, the toppings always fresh and the style/taste reminds me of the time I spent in Milan. The owner/chef is Italian and it shows in the high quality and authenticity of the product. I live in Galle and happily trek to Weligama often to eat their delicious pizzas because it’s totally worth it. They also do takeouts and deliveries, particularly in these times, which is convenient. If you’re looking for the most authentic, delicious and mouthwatering pizza experience on the island, look no further.

Simply amazing. Our first night in weligarma and we went to Rise for our evening meal. The brussetta was fabulous and the pizzas were excellent. Just about to order a nice bottle of red wine to go with our meal and the waiter said they don't serve alcohol. Omg I nearly fainted. The wife nearly phoned for an ambulance for me. They did say you can bring your own drink so next time I'm off to the wine shop because we will definitely return

The best pizza in Weligama. I wish the owner arranged for taking orders for delivery via WhatsApp or any other messenger. It would be much easier to send a location. My order was delayed because the driver could not find my place for some time.

We stumbled across this place by chance and are so happy we did, a huge thanks to Kate and Mimi for making us feel so welcome and serving us some of the best pizza we've had in ages. Really lovely chilled atmosphere, clean restaurant, great service and delicious food. We ordered the Greta pizza and a salad and both were inhaled by us. The restaurants newly opened but that didn't show in the faultless service, a really lovely place serving yummy food absolutely loved it!

Superb place to stay and have a true Italian meal. Clean and spacious rooms, very close to the Weligama Beach and surfing there if you are into this thing. Wonderful hosts, Kate and Simone with their little boy Alexander. We had many, many tips from there as why to do and where to go. As well help on-site with the transportation. Simone is a very good Italian chef and well - it was almost like eating calzone in Milan.

Had dinner here with some friends. Service was quick and the staff is super nice and welcoming...and the food it s just OH MY GOD! I think I had the best pizza ever in a very long long time...(and I come from Italy so well I do eat pizzas a lot :-)))) ). I tried torta limone too, a lemony cheese cake, which was super tasty too! I would def. Reccomend it!!

This is without a doubt the best pizza we’ve had in the whole of Sri Lanka. And this is not an exaggeration. From the italian pizza chef making the dough himself to the freshest ingredients this is hands down the tastiest pizza spot Sri Lanka has to offer. The redhead buffalo mozzarella, burrata and home made pesto. Really really impressed!

They have a great selection of beautifully prepared fresh pizzas. They are all made by an italian pizza chef using the freshest and best ingredients. We ate here numerous times and everything we had was delicious- The chocolate pizza is amazing! The portion sizes are huge, never fear they do a doggy bag! BYOB obviously- it's sri Lanka The staff are extremely friendly and attentive! There is a lovely eco vibe, free water in glass bottles, vegan options etc. We were also lucky enough to stay in their guest bedrooms, which were as delightfully furnished and comfortable as the restraunt and the breakfast you recieved was phenomenal!
