Absolutely fantastic!!! We went out with Sammy a couple of days ago. We were supposed to be back at 6 but it was closer to half past. The reason? Our guide, despite doing this every day, was as enthusiastic and keen as we were! What makes a fantastic place 10 times better is when the person showing it to you is full of passion and love for his area. Sam had this in spades!! He also had huge knowledge of the plants and animals we saw (including taxinomical names). The wildlife came thick and fast, from crocodiles to more bird species than I can remember. Icing on the cake and proof of his love for the lagoon came when a coke bottle floated past a little way off - the boat was put into reverse and we went after it & removed it. If you're remotely interested in wildlife you MUST come here.

I went on a boat ride with them a week ago and it was a total joke I payed 4000 rs for the boats man which was a mistake because it was useless, they forced me and my friends to buy thing from a island and if we didnt buy anything they would be disappointed and would become strange,and I felt really unsafe because they didnt give the customer any life jackets and the boat was taken by a teenage boy, I was scared if something could happen because he didnt have any experience and could even speak English properly, and we got to know after the boat safari that this organisation was famous for stealing thing from their customers which iam really disappointed about, Sri Lanka is such a wonderful country but after this experience i was kind of disappointed, the boat riders at this place must have a knowledge about the lake which they didnt have at all,and it would be better if the teenage boy who took us on the lake go to school for education.

I was on a $4000 LKR tour and the guide wasn’t really understand too much of the surroundings and unable to really do a sustainable tourism tour by identifying the livelihood of locals and those plants. The cinnamon island is alright but the grower father and daughter were seemed quite reluctant to do this job. Maybe they don’t get paid well therefore they are merely interested in promoting their products rather than having some decent conversations with you. They seemed to be unwilling to host me as a single tourist who might not buy too many stuffs from them. After I filed the complaints, I was getting some apologies without refund or anything else. If you got nothing else better to do, you might like to come along but perhaps you could go somewhere else. But at least they do respond to my complaint.

Boat ride was super enthusiastic from the begining. The person who rode the boat was with full of knowledge on everything. He knew every places arround the river, history of seven islands, scientific characters of plants and economical importance of protecting the koggala river area.
