TL;DR:
Beautiful
site,
great
food,
friendly
staff.
BUT
camp
is
too
big,
quality
of
surf
coaching
was
really
poor
for
non-beginners,
too
overpriced.
Would
not
recommend
&
will
not
come
again.
If
you
wanna
improve
your
surf
rather
book
with
quality
coaching
camps
e.g.
Drivethru,
Infinity
or
Surf
School
Sri
Lanka.
The
good
-
Site,
food,
staff
The
camp
itself
is
beautiful.
The
rooms
are
pretty,
the
pool
area
is
nice
to
hang
out
&
you
can
really
enjoy
a
day
off
or
between
sessions
at
the
pool.
The
food
is
fresh
&
super
delicious.
Great
selection
&
dinner
varies
for
14
days,
then
repeats.
Food
was
my
favorite
part
of
the
stay.
The
staff
is
super
nice
&
friendly.
The
bad
-
everything
else
really
The
Surf
Coaching:
They
have
a
rather
weird
booking
system
with
a
star
rating
which
shall
match
skill
levels
where
you
book
yourself
into
the
session
you
want
to
go
to.
However,
the
stars
are
given
to
spots
only
not
taking
conditions
into
account
(tide
level,
height
etc.)
+
no
one
assesses
your
actual
level
at
the
beginning.
Due
to
that
system
they
don’t
chose
the
actually
best
spot
of
the
day
for
the
time
&
level
for
you.
Also
due
to
first-come-first-served
sometimes
the
actually
best
spots
for
your
level
might
be
fully
booked
already
&
you're
only
left
with
too
challenging
or
beginner
spots.
Also
they
go
to
spots
at
non-ideal
conditions
e.g.
high
tide
for
Lazy
Right
&
when
conditions
are
not
good
(SURPRISE!)
then
just
come
back
to
Weligama
bay.
A
few
times
when
the
conditions
were
not
great
at
the
checked
surf
spots
some
of
the
coaches
did
not
even
bother
to
pretend
to
care
&
at
least
go
to
Weligama
with
you
but
just
left
after
arriving
back
at
the
camp
(some
didn't
even
come
back
to
camp!).
This
is
ridiculous.
Some
coaches
care
more
than
others
&
actually
tried
to
help
you,
but
some
don't
care
at
all.
They
just
go
out
with
you,
sit
in
the
lineup
&
are
more
interested
in
taking
waves
than
looking
what
you're
doing
&
giving
advice.
Many
also
don't
speak
good
enough
English
to
actually
go
into
detail
with
you
-
hints
like
"more
paddle"
is
not
really
what
helps
you
to
improve
your
technique
as
intermediate.
Only
because
you're
a
local
&
can
surf
well
does
not
mean
you're
qualified
to
teach
surfing
🤷🏻♀️
The
camp
is
just
too
big
&
impersonal.
There's
so
many
people
&
you
will
have
so
many
different
coaches
it's
impossible
for
them
to
know
your
skills,
what
you
should
be
working
on
to
improve
or
even
just
to
remember
your
name.
Some
coaches
do
not
even
ask
your
name
at
all.
For
theory
lesson
they
just
ask
if
you
have
questions.
Nothing
prepared
from
themselves.
This
is
so
poor.
The
video
analyses
were
good
though
-
if
you
were
lucky
to
get
a
space
in
a
session.
The
coaches
actually
took
time
to
go
through
the
video
&
give
tips.
Booking/Payment:
The
booking
process
is
a
bit
dodgy
already.
On
the
website
it
will
always
say
that
there
are
cheap
rooms
available.
After
booking
request
the
rooms
are
full
&
they
will
offer
you
something
else
for
way
more...
Happened
to
everyone
I
talked
to.
Also
once
you
booked
you
will
find
out
that
you
have
to
pay
to
their
HongKong
bank
account
at
your
own
expenses
–
so
add
another
50€
on
top.
Board
Rental:
Prices
for
board
rental
are
SO
overpriced.
They
charge
10€
+
insurance
per
day.
Local
prices
for
rental
are
3-4€
per
day
(w/o
insurance).
Rather
go
to
Cheeky
Monkey
-
specially
if
you
stay
a
bit
longer.
I
paid
only
a
bit
more
for
60
(!)
days
than
what
Kima
would
have
charged
me
for
10
days
😅
The
Vibe:
The
camp
is
just
too
big.
With
50
or
so
people
it
does
not
have
a
familiar
vibe.
It
felt
like
there's
10
new
faces
every
day
so
no
real
group
feeling.
Overall,
during
my
10
days
I
talked
to
many
other
intermediates
around
&
many
were
super
unhappy
with
the
surf
coaching.
Most
beginners
were
more
happy
though.
A
friend
&
me
we
just
stopped
going
to
the
sessions
for
the
last
2
days
&
rented
TukTuks
to
go
to
good
spots
at
good
times
alone.
I
am
sorry
to
leave
such
a
bad
review
but
I
am
being
honest
about
my
&
the
experience
of
many
of
my
fellows
and
hope
Kima
does
something
good
with
it.
