Honesty, it's great place, it's clean, nice people around.. But I did not really match the owners vibe about the place. It feels more like 'how I can get more money from people' not like 'I want to make my guests happy.' They do extra things in hostel but only if you pay heavily. If you are young, wanna party every night, surf and do not really care about spendings.. This is place for you! Really. If you are backpacker as me with preference of kinda family vibes - this is not really a match though.. Sorry.

Cool Hostal. Clean rooms. Comfy beds. cozy hangout area. they also offer Yoga classes if you like to participate. Good breakfast (you hv the option to choose local breakfast or a western type breakfast ). Helpful and friendly staff. 20m distance to the beach. They maintain a very friendly and lively environment at the hostal. So you will never go bord. Recomended..!!!

I planned to stay in this hostel for 2 nights but ended up staying for 2 weeks! I was traveling alone, and the moment I arrived the people made me feel at home. The location is nice, you just have to cross a road and you're on the beach. We went surfing every morning, after some sunrise surf we came back in the hostel where our breakfast (and quality coffee) were waiting for us. Avocado toast, pancakes with fruits and coconut, overnight oats, but also string hoppers with dahl. The place looks tidy, there are people busy cleaning it all day ^^ There are outside showers so you can shower in open air with a palmtree above you... These are small examples of the hostel. I can definitely recommend this hostel to anybody. Don't doubt coming here.... ! Thank you so much Beatroot, definitely coming back

Beatroot's a great hostel. Considering the quality of the dorms and the incredible breakfast it's definitely worth the price. It's really social but not to the extent where it's loud and annoying. Perfect location and excellent staff, couldn't recommend it more!

Spend the day here visiting a friend, they are super friendly and the food is yum! Nice lounge area and felt super welcome. If I didn't have a hostel already I would have surely stayed as it's clean and nice female dorm too.

It’s definitely my favorite place to go in Welingama. It became my home base for 5 weeks and I still feel at home after coming back. 🙏🏼 Super nice employees and the food is just Wow! Everything is super clean and there is a big area to relax and chat with people in a super chill vibe.

Generally the Best hostel option in Weligama, BUT: - a lot of mosquitos in the rooms, -rooms are not very spacious, - you can feel that the stuff is at work and there is no "family" feeling, - its very popular so they are most of the time fully booked (1 girl had to change the room 4 Times during 4 days because of that) - very expensive coffee almost 4 usd !! - no curtains - not so cheap because for the same price there are many private rooms nearby. What is good: - central location, close to the beach, - cool, backpacker vibe and Daily events, - food is really good, - easy to meet other travellers, - cleaning, local stuff very friendly.

Really nice hostel, good vibes and the restaurant for brunch/breakfast/coffee erc was really good. I stayed in a 6p dorm with A/C, they also offer laundry machine usage for a good (fixed) price. There were no social activities when I was there because of the low seasons.

Very friendly hostesses. Lovely chilled atmosphere with Mangoes literally hanging from trees onto tables. Coconut Cappucino brewed from their industrial Coffee Machine is Melbourne (Coffee Capital) Coffee quality and a must have. Lovely breakfast and we enjoyed our Vegan brekkies. Kids loved their giant Cookie monster Milkshakes. Looking forward to trying the famous Plan B Hoppers another day when in Weligama.

For sure the best hostel in Welligama, the staff here are great fun, very friendly and very helpful!! The food is excellent, some of the best food I have eaten in Sri Lanka! I originally booked 4 nights here and stayed for 16! I love this place, it’s a very chilled vibe but a great place to meet fellow international backpackers. 110% recommend staying here and for sure I’ll be returning here at some point in the future!

Just go there, you'll stay longer. The beetroot is a small hostel with an awesome vibe and amazing owners. It's a place where you'll meet and know each person. Can only recommend it 100%

You can build your own breakfast from the parts. Also they have professional espresso machine for making espresso, cappuccino, latte and etc.

Best hostel in weligama!!!! Best style and vibes. The place is so well made and designed it’s just amazing. Rooms are comfortable and the hostel is always so clean. I recommend this place so so much (been here for almost 2 months in total(!!!)) The food in the cafe of the hostel is honestly the best in all the area, and I tried so many the coffee also, of course. Super professional. Thank u Beatroot for the most amazing time ❤️

The owners are incredibly unfriendly and act as if they don't want you there. The guy running the hostel is arrogant as and makes you feel like any question you have is an inconvenience. I decided to ignore it and just spend my one night and leave the next day. Then my one and only interaction with his girlfriend was her passive aggressively yelling at me to take her helmet off my head while 5 seconds before the other guy working told me i could use it. I asked other people staying at the hostel if they were experiencing the same treatment and many others told me that they think the owners are rude. Go to Spindrift, Hangtime, Jojo's.. literally anywhere else. These guys are asking to have an empty hostel.

Very clean hostel with a super nice and chill vibe. The coconut milk cappuccino is one of the best coffees I’ve ever had, and the overnight oats are amazing. Great people, great music, great food!

Very nice hostel: good vibes, AC, great (free!) breakfast. We where out most of the time but it's also a nice place to hangout. For some reason the volunteers where kind of strict on some things which was the only downside in my opinion, didn't expect that of such a place (Examples: we arrived in the evening after a very long trip, we had to go to an ATM (only Commercial Bank ATM worked for us) since we where out of cash and we where hoping that we could do that after checking in but we had to get the money first. Also strict checkout time.) Still 5/5 tho, definitely go there!

Beatroot hostel is simply amazing. Best staff I have ever met, most amazing atmosphere. Best place to stay for young backpackers, travelers, surfers, and a place where you can easily forget time. Feels like home from the moment you'll arrive. Calm your horses and chill, like never before!

One of the best hostels to meet people. They have only one table to eat breakfast at so it forces you to meet people. Shower is good and place is clean, breakfast is really good and the owner is really nice. It is a social hostel, so there is some noise in the evening, but not untill so late
