The hotel needs more attention in renovation and the sheets are not clean at all and there is this top Brown sheet that looks like a snake and that sheet must be thrown away from the Bed.

Welkom inn is one of the biggest hotels in Welkom town. Excellent location and hospitality. Great food and the parking area is perfect. Great place to rest and chill. I have been to few hotels and this one has made everything possible for me in the best way. its one of the places that has been there for many people. From the owner to the staff they will make you feel like one of the family members. Beautiful and clean place. The rooms are spacious and comfortable.

The place needs some serious TLC. Seems like their carpets have not been cleaned in years 😫 with an unpleasant damp smell. But they have very friendly staff that are always willing to assist

Honestly, the only star this place should get is the star in the sky's that would lead them to a place where they will get ideas on how to make the place better than it is. For the price that one paid, I could book at a R700 Guesthouse and get way better service than what is offered here. There is a lady at reception that had attitude when I requested another room because the one I had, had an issue with the window not closing properly. I left the place without taking a bathe because the water is was brown even after running the water several times as mentioned by the lady at reception. I am highly, highly disappointed and regret even staying here after what I have experienced. If anything, they should drop their prices until they can meet the standards of putting them where they are now. This place is a rip off and I would caution you about staying here, I am really sorry but it's not worth your hard earned money. I am never ever coming here again, highly highly, highly regretful and dissatisfied...

My only recommendation is to avoid. Dirty and stained carpets, stains on walls, chipped or rotting doors, half of the lights don't work, chipped or cracked windows. Not enough hot water. Hot water coming out brown (note - lack of water not their fault). They don't provide duvets and want you to either sleep with a sheet, decorative cover or old blanket which gave everyone sinus issues - probably due to dust and lack of cleaning. They do have duvets because two of us fought for one so why they don't give all rooms I don't know. The rooms are not sound proof so I could hear others having a bath, talking, snoring and using the toilet. The staff were friendly and tried to help but I think management needs to have a look at this place and fix it up. The location is fantastic so I'm not sure why they don't bother. I will never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

Not good place, smelly carpets, dinner was bad, breakfast also, Water is rusted when opening taps to bath rusted red stuff comes out first, I can't even put that water in my mouth to wash teeth 😫 hhhhrrrrrr

Always stay here at Welkom Inn Hotel...very neat/clean/tidy and very stylish. Like the location of the hotel too. The hotel is very close to the city center with all the shops/malls/movie theaters etc. Will visit soon

This place needs to be closed today!!!! I initially thought an abandoned building when I arrived. The water from the bath comes out brown, the food yuck! They don't even have a back up for loadshedding so you sit in the dark. Woke up with my sinuses flared up because of that dirty carpet all over the place. The aircon doesn't heat up! This was the worst experience of my life! I need counseling 🤞

Worst experience ever. The hotel refused to honor the booking because of the water situation (their choice 🤷‍♂️. Then refuse to refund me because their cancelation policy says they can't refund any cancelation (as if I wanted to cancel). This is both back experience and terrible practice

The place should focus on student accommodation as I was told that there a portion of student accommodation. The carpet looks like it was last cleaned three years ago. I had to request for the bedding to be changed as it had stains and I slept on a broken bed (with one leg out). I couldn't even eat or drink anything as the hotel room was filthy. Did not even attempt to eat the burnt bacon and sausages I saw at the dining area, I just left. The hotel is definitely not a three star hotel it actually does not deserve any star and it is no longer a hotel but students residence.

Waited 2 hours to be booked because of loadshedding and they wanted payment before I could get a key to only find a naked man in the room. They gave me the wrong room! Carpets dirty and worn. Will never recommend. Waiting for a refund as I left.

This is my 14th night here... no clean towels,I have had my sheets changed twice,the food is soo good but thats if chef on duty remember to cook for you. Today sleeping hungry coz the chef knocked off and gave me wrong food. I wonder who managers the Hotel? The different companies that book for their employees but reconsider Bnb's not Welkom Inn.the other day they double booked a lady and a man in 1room,imagine if he walked in while she was undressed. The worst service I have ever received since I was born. The room I was placed in didn't have a functional toilet. I reported the misfortune at 6pm and I still went the whole night without assistance. The people at reception don't know anything about customer service. Their food is also awful. PLEASE DO NOT BOOK HERE NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE YOU ARE.

Terrible rooms; no wifi service. If you have no other option then stay here. The local guesthouses are much better

They still don't have a backup for loadshading and they don't check their rooms if lights or plugs are working or not. They still have old bed.

Definitely NOT recommend this place. Carpets in rooms are dirty, bed cover thing also not too clean, Mold in bathroom. Breakfast is HORRIBLE and the restaurant is DIRTY and filthy. Chipped plates and cups, dirty cookware that they use. It is just DISGUSTING.

WORST HOTEL EVER! Do not ever go here. The reception looks OK but the rooms are filthy, the bar does not serve any drinks, the staff is rude and the prices are sky high compared to other hotels in the area. Plus the guy/lady at the reception should be fired immediately due to his behaviour

The rooms were absolutely huge and lovely. The area is quiet and peaceful. There is so much serenity. Would definitely go back again.

Poor wifi. Poor selection of tv channels, otherwise, the bed was ok. I had to use my torch because the generator had gone off 20 minutes before end of loadshedding.

Worst stay away from home..... The carpets are dirty, the comforter had stains, the water is brownish......... No back up generator during load shedding......... Overall the place is disgusting, I couldn't even eat in that room. I cannot wait to get home for a proper bath😭

Very poor, very outdated hotel. Carpets in hallways and room was disgusting. TV only had 2 workong channels. Aircon leaked water , bedding was old with holes in duvet. Lamps had no globes. High prices does not jusity the quality. Will never stay here again.

The Hotel looks Beautiful from outside but theres much work to do to see the standard good. One the carpets that is everywhere must be removed, it's old and does not smell nice anymore. Two, the Food serving department is not really to standard. Room aren't really ok, has some smells, in the room I slept in , it felt like someone smoked in it . They don't have good rules that runs the hotel ,for example when we there other guests were screaming calling each other on the passages not minding how other guests felt and the hotel did nothing about that. Lastly the hotel is too dark, could do with brightness and lively paint. But the front desk people were awesome 👌 👏 👍 they are very welcoming and brilliant.

The hot water was brown ( not clean) ,room didn't have WiFi connection, TV was blur. This is by far my worst hotel experience. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Worse place ever! Carpets dirty, leaking toilet, brown water and maching towels. To top it all, at one stage my room was left uncleaned. The place has potential but bad management is letting it down.

They do not clean properly, one of my colleagues came back to find his bed not made up. Spiderwebs on windowsills and the mat leave your feet dirty. My shower nob literally fell when I touched it while the showerhead poured like bucket of water. I would avoid it next time I'm in welkom.

Nothing works, from toilets in rooms, Aircon to WiFi. Asked for change of room and the room options offered were worse than initial room. Book the place at your own peril...

Worse place ever. Aircon not working. Curtails, carpets torn. Badly cleaned rooms. The whole two nights I had to fight mosquitoes as the aircon was not working and I had to open sliding door. Poor service. Worse is you pay before you stay and there is no refund. The place is just not worth making it to any booking platform. I had a horror time staying there. I was even afraid of eating their breakfast.

Hotel was terrible. Aircon did not work. Receptionist was terrible and did not care to respond to my Aircon Request. Restaurant and Bar was closed for dinner. We could not watch Football World cup match Never staying there again

This place it’s not what it looks like in the website. It’s horrible low class to stay at. Food is terrible, no drinkable water. If the water is available, it’s yellow/brown and looks like dam water. Most of the time is watershedded and you have to buy your own water. No Wi-Fi facility. They cannot provide you an iron, you get told to go to their ironing room. Who in his mind would leave your room to walk down stair just to iron your clothes. Nothing in this hotel is working. Parking facility looks like an abandoned building. Your first entrance to the hotel, you look like you are lost. Thabiso

Very clean, friendly staff and food very yummy

Very old and rundown place indeed. The receptionists are very friendly and professional. The furniture is of good quality, antique. The linen and towels are old. We stayed there two nights and there was no water and no one made alternative arrangements for us. We had to use bottled water to bath. No water backup e.g. Jojo tanks. There is an ironing room which no one tends to. Most of the guests take the irons to their rooms and we struggled for the whole day looking for irons. Had a horrible experience.

The carpets are old and have a bad smell. Ironing facility is something else. One iron service the entire hotel. The kitchen set up needs upgrade. The food, you eat because you are hungry if not you would simply skip the meals. For R1500 per night, the hotel needs an upgrade to justify this price, my recommended price would be R400. Since water cuts off from whatever the time until 6am, please supply bottled drinking water in the rooms. The staff is very friendly. The reception area is ok.

From the outside, it does not appeal much, but inside it is a nice establishment. The rooms are compact and cozy. There's also a swimming pool with a nice place to chill. The staff is friendly and goes extra steps to help guests with their every need.

They don't have a backup water storage. When we ask for water to bath the manager came with attitude blaming the municipality. I won't recommend anyone to use this hotel

We arrived at 17h00 on Sunday 25th Oct 2020 and went out for a meal. The power went out and when we went back to the hotel, the power was out there as well. There were no emergency lights, or support or information provided as to what could be expected or assistance to reach our rooms in the dark. At 06h00 the next morning the power was still off and there were literally no staff around reception to assist us with checking out. There were no breakfast available despite assurances by the receptionist that breakfast is served from 06h00. We left with cold showers in a very dark bathroom and no breakfast vowing never to make use of that hotel again. The power outage was not the major issue, it is the staff's absolute lack of caring for their guests, their apathy, no generator power or backup plan and thus a complete lack of service during this unforeseen event that informs this low rating.

It is a beautiful place indeed. We had some trouble with the lack of hot water on certain days and the air conditioner in my room was not working but the maintenance guy got me a fan that really helped with the heat. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food (especially the breakfast) was very delicious.

I enjoyed my stay there. I love the architecture and interior designing. They collect nice art pieces. They have friendly and professional staff. The establishment is not far from the Goldfields mall and the CBD. Its quiet, peaceful and clean. I love their kitchen and bar area.

The best thing about Welkom Inn is the food. They even prepared meals just cause I requested. As far as the room, it is standard hotel requirements for white sheets. For cleanliness, purposes.

They need to invest in a generator.

Pleasant stay, the bathrooms could use some revamping. Breakfast buffet needs more variety. Kids shouldn't have to pay for breakfast if breakfast is included in your stay( accommodation)

Overpriced.

Bad experience at this hotel/lodge. For 2 days the place doesn't have electricity citing issues with the municipality. Front reception staff members are very arrogant more especially when clarity is being seeked. Worst experience in my entire traveling experience.

Besides the most unfriendly reception, having to wait for 20 minutes for my room key without any explinatuon as to why I am waiting, there's NO towl in the room nor a bath plug. No plastic in the dusbins, no working Wi-Fi and the kettle must be put off its dock otherwise it will keep on boiling. The carpets smell like the ocean, without the ocean, terrible faul smell. It was just a horrible experience.
