I checked into Rushton Hall on the 29th of July with my partner. My partner and I have been excitedly discussing our future plans and given that I have been to the hotel several times in the past, attending family events along with a very close family friends wedding, I had recommended that we look into the options for potential wedding opportunities at this venue. We have always had an excellent experience with regard to the venue and the hotel rooms . However on arrival we checked into, our room and it was quite literally filthy, we encountered a myriad of cleanliness issues. To start the room appeared to have not been hoovered, there was a contact lens left on the floor next to the bed. In the bathroom the floor was covered with what looked to be plaster and crumpled toilet roll. The shower was full of mould around the base and the shower head. Finally and the most pressing issue the air conditioning unit was absolutely filthy, dirt was falling out of it and onto the carpet and dressing table. It was completely inadequate and a huge disappointment to us both. I feel aggrieved to pay for a sub par stay in such an unhygienic environment. I did make reception staff aware of this however they only communicated that maintenance would be informed. This is not what I would expect when making a complaint of this nature. The room remained in this condition as no staff attended to rectify the issues.

Was actually really impressed with this place I came here right after I ran the rat race dirty weekend may 8th and 9th. A relaxing spa day is exactly what I needed after that 20 mile run. My only real suggestion is to have a better breakfast menu the choices were super limited. Perhaps get a higher end whiskey assortment. And dinner was also limited hotel could be in better condition but overall great stay.

Strange experience with Rushton Hall, after searching for many, many weeks I thought I had finally struck gold with Rushton Hall. After enquiring they told me they won't offer private catering which is perfectly fine, I asked if they would cater for halal food and they said they will have to find out and get back to me (no problem) I then also mentioned that as we are Muslim the food would have to contain no alcohol and we also wouldn't be drinking on the day to which I was told they don't host weddings without alcohol. Never heard that before from any venue, was a bit taken aback. Not sure why they would discriminate against a whole group of people (Muslims and generally people who don't drink).

A tale of two halves, I wouldn't recommend staying and certainly not at current prices. A group of 6 of us stayed for a joint birthday celebration, first impressions of the hall are lovely. The plus points are some members of the brasserie staff, and the brasserie food itself. These were lovely. The cons out weight the pros unfortunately, it touts itself as a 4 star but my photos should hopefully speak for themselves, dust and mold are the order of the day. My room had blatently not been dusted in a very long time. Nowhere for lunch for guests who hadn't booked afternoon tea, or weren't a spa day visitor where they are given priority at the cafe. It would've been useful to have been advised booking was recommended, instead we popped to the local pub so we could eat. Issues with the spa staffing levels (I understand its not their fault if someone doesn't show up) however there were no spare staff to draft in, and no alternatives offered so despite spa treatments being booked 3 months in advance, my friend was left disappointed with no treatment. There seems to be prioritisation given to those visiting the spa for the day and afternoon tea, not the guests paying £300+ a night to stay. All in all, unwhelming, and other reviews mentioning cleanliness were absolutely spot on

Do not stay in this hotel whatever you do unless you want an experience like ours. We paid £400 for one night bed, dinner and breakfast but we would have been better off staying in a Premier Inn. On checking into the State Room we found the bath robes covered in hair on the collar and had certainly not been changed. Several of the towels were dirty, one was completely filthy and could not have been overlooked by the housekeeping staff. Again the towels were certainly not changed. Now suspicious we checked the bed and found a lot of hair on the sheet under the pillows indicating that the bottom sheet had not been changed. By now we were furious and demanded to see the manager and requested a full refund. They refunded our money in full but apart from a few mumbled apologies the staff, including the manager, didn’t really seem to care less. They kept us waiting a long time while they contacted housekeeping and finally found the head receptionist who was the only person who could process the refund. Instead of a pleasant stay in a 4* hotel we left very unhappy with a 3 hour drive to reach home that evening. Finally don’t believe the room pictures that you see on their website. We booked a State Room, one of the best, but it was dark, dingy with old furniture and badly stained carpets. There is no way that the condition of this hotel fits the description of 4*. The owners have not spent money on renovating it and bringing it up to date so it is dated, dilapidated and based on our experience dirty. Please be warned before you too suffer the same disappointment and potentially waste your money.

We had an ok experience. The hotel is a bit like a “Monet”, looks beautiful from far away but as you get closer it becomes less beautiful. It is very dated, the room and carpets/bedding especially. Indoor jacuzzi didn’t work on the second day. The breakfast is a bit stingy, the “continental” side is literally cereal, one croissant and a terrible fruit salad. The cooked options are small portions, 1.5 pieces of toast, 1 egg, 1 sausage, half a tomato. Not what you would expect from a good hotel. We had dinner in the restaurant, pork belly starter so small it was hilarious but the Apple dessert did make up for it. So unique and delicious. Service - all staff members were nice but they are definitely understaffed. From the moment we arrived there was a huge delay in getting any type of service in the restaurants. One bar staff member was crying due to being understaffed and stressed. Overall, we had an OK time - but wouldn’t rush to return.

Very beautiful old building. Afternoon tea for 2 was on the slightly expensive side, £100 for a few cakes and small cheese sandwiches. Champagne was perfectly chilled and had great tea selection. The only thing that wasn't acceptable was we were put on a tiny table that was so low that it was basically on the floor. We said we can't eat there as we fully grown adults. They then said they would have to speak to the manager about moving. We was then told we could move but had to rush through our meal.

I went to the Stablyard Spa yesterday for a Deep Tissue Back Massage. On arrival, the grounds are amazing, so well looked after. I’d never been to a therapist before, So I didn’t know what to expect. Danielle was my therapist, she explained what she was doing and how it would feel over the next couple of days. After the massage I left feeling great, all the muscle tension knots had been relieved, I was very impressed. I highly recommend this treatment and I will definitely returning, Thanks Danielle 👍🏼

Had a fabulous day at the spa with my friend. Very relaxed and not overcrowded. I had a deep tissue massage and my friend had a facial - definitely recommend for a treat. The grounds are beautiful, tempted to stay at the hotel and have another day at the spa next time. Thank you

Don't bother visiting the spa. I booked a spa day for my husband's birthday. Spa days usually include a light lunch and this didn't, it did include a drink at lunch however. We started off in the gym which was two separate rooms where alot of the kit was out of use and the rooms were dusty and in need of refurbishment. After our massages which were about the only redeeming bit of our visit we headed to the "spa". The outdoor jacuzzi was like warm with algae round the matting and lots of dead leaves around. The indoor spa jets didn't work. The steam room was also out of order. All the other users of the pool area were around 65+ in age and there was nothing else to do. We had a light lunch in the cafe before leaving. I raised our concerns and the member of staff agreed with me that things weren't great and told me to put it into an email... which they've not acknowledged a week later.

Probably the most peaceful and enjoyable experience I have ever had whilst being accompanied by my wife. The hall and grounds are absolutely stunning peaceful and steeped in history that made us feel welcome. Greeted by friendly professional staff who obviously enjoy thier positions as the joy they radiate makes the welcome Even more intense. All the staff we encountered, be it at dinner, breakfast, spa cafe, spa staff and relaxation therapists all radiated the same joy ,and seemed to go the extra mile just to make sure our stay was as enjoyable as it could possibly be . The guest room we stayed in had an ambiance of sheer luxury that's been evident through the ages ,was spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The 1593 brasserie, bar and sitting rooms were also spotlessly clean and have the same amazing peaceful ambiance . Dinner and breakfast menu both offer good choice ,all the dishes we had time to sample were perfectly presented cooked to perfection and a joy to consume. The stableyard spa although in the same delightful surroundings, is totally modern inside with swimming pool ,inside and outdoor jacuzzi ,steam room and sauna, My wife had various spa treatments over three days all of which she was totally impressed by her therapists and the levels of care and cleanliness. I myself have never seen her looking so radiant ,relaxed and peaceful. A big thank you to all the staff at Rushton Hall and Spa from me and my wife For an outstanding experience. We look forward to our next visit when we may have more time to sample some of the activities you offer and also explore the gorgeous gardens and grounds.

It is an expensive place but from the moment we arrived we found it welcoming and very well kept. We arrived at 1pm but couldn’t check in until 3pm so the friendly doorman showed us to the drawing room where we chilled out and had tea/coffee. When the room was ready we dropped our bags off and went to have our treatments in the spa - which were carried out perfectly. We had a couple more hours chilling in the spa before we got ready for dinner. At dinner in the brasserie the food quality was exquisite. If you’re a big eater you will need to order extra sides as the portions are on the small to medium size. The drinks menu is comprehensive: cocktails (alcoholic and non), wines, beers, spirits etc. After dinner we relaxed in the very large and beautiful surroundings of the bar with night cap in hand before retiring to our room. Next day after a lovely breakfast I poked my head into the snooker room. I had to ask at reception to be let in as they don’t just leave the room unlocked - for reasons only snooker enthusiasts will understand. I picked up one of the hotel cues and had a little play before heading back to the room to check out for 11am. After checking out we paid the extra £20 for the spa day rate to chill for the rest of the day and as it was 40% off all treatments in the morning we got one each for the road. All in all we had a great time and would love to go back. If you’re wanting to go somewhere extra special and wondering whether it will be worth all the money: trust me it really is.

My daughter got married here. The day was a day to remember I would highly recommend it for a wedding venue. We stopped over on the eve of the wedding and ate there. Some of the food orders we had ordered were not to standard to the price I had to pay. I emailed the owner and never got a reply or even an apology for our evening stay and this was in June 2022.The owner of the hall her customer service is very poor. I didn't persue my complaint due to the success of the wedding. But the owner of the Manor try to avoid. I applaud the staff they were very good and made the day flow easily.

My partner and I went to Rushton hall spa for the day for various treatments including manicures, pedicures, back wax and massages. From arriving at the hall and spa the location was truly beautiful, well kept, such a quaint and beautiful building and surrounding land. Upon entering the spa, greeted with smiling friendly staff who were there to help with any questions that either of us had. As for treatments, our therapist for the pedicures and manicures was so friendly, chatting to us both and paid great attention to detail, truly an asset to the team and master of her craft. She talked us through what was happening and made us both feel so welcome and relaxed. Back wax - very friendly therapist who talked throughout to help ease anxieties and distract from the wax strips 😊 relaxing atmosphere, well kept hygienic, exceptionally professional and respected privacy. Back massage - very professional and friendly therapist, spoke about what was going to happen and was there if any questions were had. Made sure I was comfortable with the pressure, she was very professional and respected privacy. Truly worked magic on my back, getting rid of knots and tension in my shoulders and spine, very tidy and relaxing room. There was a cafe on site to pre-order lunch and drinks. Such amazing food and hospitality from Margaret and Nikki. Truly an asset to the whole experience making sure our every need was attended too, very friendly service and easy to talk too. They really are both such wonderful and lovely ladies and deserve this 5 star rating. Honestly made us feel so welcome and relaxed was just the icing on the cake for this whole spa day experience. My partner and I definitely recommend coming to this amazing establishment and we will definitely be returning with our swimsuits next time. Thank you to all the team and everyone helping to make the day run so smoothly. Bryan and Ben

I'm attending business meetings there. Spectacular grounds and scenery. Great food and service. I'm not staying there, so I can't personally comment on the accommodations. Reviews from my coworkers have been awesome, though.

First time back since before covid, service not quite a good as before but OK. Food very good. Rooms in places need a little bit of tidy up work but in general very good and lovely place to stay. Would give a 4.5 if I could

Plenty of parking. There is an over flow car park, with a slightly further walk to the hotel, although you can pull up out the front to unload. Afternoon tea has several options, and starts at £35. Booking in advance is advised, and a £20 per person cancellation fee applies. You can only book a maximum of 6 people, or you need to have private dining. Formal clothes are required. The rooms are good and a nice size, although some need updating a little. The grounds are a nice walk, although it takes 15 minutes to go around.. The inside is nice, although not very big as the building is a square with a large garden in the middle. The spa area is separate and can get very busy at peak times. Great for a visit but I wouldn't go again as not as grand inside as it is visually outside.

Definitely not as luxurious as it used to be. Restaurant staff v young, lovely but need to be trained better . Need to explain what cheeses are served, offer coffee brandy etc simple silver service. Sugar in sachets doesn't go with expensive restaurants, same gravy for turkey and beef doesn't happen in that standard restaurants. Burnt cauliflower cheese need I go on. We have been before and our recent visit was poor.

Superb afternoon tea! We loved absolutely everything we ate and drank. Couldn't fault it and wish I could eat it all over again! Staff were wonderful and the surroundings so cosy and relaxing. It was in fact perfect and not very often I can say that. Definitely will return and recommend it to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful time Rushton Hall Hotel.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rushton Hall. A wedding was taking place whilst we were there but that did not disturb our peace at all because weddings take place in a separate part of the building to the bedrooms. Dinner was very good. All the staff were pleasant and helpful in particular Virginia on reception who knew all about the history of the building, it was clear she loves her job and she does it extremely well. We will definitely return and would like to book the bridal suite next time!

My wife and I recently enjoyed a wonderful 2 night stay here. The staff were extremely helpful throughout the hotel, spa and restaurants and we felt welcomed and looked after. A lovely meal in the Brasserie restaurant and a top notch tasting experience in the fine dining room. Spa facilities were great too, and beautiful grounds to wander around. We will be back!

Great staff. Spa wonderful. Couldn’t fault the place. Lovely historic house hotel. Grounds magnificent. Swans and other wildfowl on the lake. Beautiful setting. Room comfortable. Function rooms very historic and would be lovely to use for special occasions.

I simply cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Not only is it beautiful with a rich history and extremely well maintained, it has excellent facilities and service. Our company held an offsite team meeting in one of the meeting rooms, which was very well equipped and we were looked after very well indeed by the hotel host. We ate in the brasserie at lunchtime and had the complete fine dining experience in the evening. Everything about the food we were served was delicious - perfectly cooked and matched with amazing wines - and the service was extremely attentive and friendly. We felt so well looked after, and left feeling we had had a very special experience. We even indulged in the spa treatments which were reasonably priced and out of this world. I could not recommend it more.

I just had the most amazing birthday celebration at Rushton. Everything was exquisite from the four poster bedroom to dinner, breakfast and afternoon tea. Absolutely fantastic. The staff were great and we had a lovely time. Thank you Rushton, we can't wait to return.

We visited the Tresham Restaurant for its tasting menu last Saturday evening and we could not have been more impressed. The food was exceptional, the service attentive but not overbearing, and the venue charming. It was brilliant value for what was Michelin level cooking - No doubt it is Northamptonshire’s finest dining experience - but it would truly beat many fine dining establishments in London and abroad. Try it! You won’t be disappointed.

Fabulous 👌 will definitely visit again . The only thing that let it down was the telly in the bathroom didn't work. But everything else was superb 👌 👏 spa facilities fab . Staff very attentive and polite. Rooms clean and comfortable 😌

My wife and I stayed here for one night as part of our 45th wedding anniversary celebrations, and I wish we had stayed all four days that we were away. The fine dining was outstanding, and I must mention Sophie, who took care of us, and Niki and Martin who prepared all of the food. All of the staff, including Tom who helped with our luggage, were outstanding. If you enjoy absolute tranquility in beautiful surroundings then this is the place to go. Thank you all for taking care of us. John and Sandra

We were invited to a wedding at Rushton hall in September of this year. What a wonderful experience, the rooms were lovely BIG comfortable beds, the wedding dinner was exceptional, a fabulous breakfast, with wide ranging choices all served by lovely friendly staff. The hall itself is outstanding, with lovely grounds to explore. I highly recommend Rushton Hall, and hope to visit again.

Attended an amazing wedding at this beautiful venue. Excellent staff, lovely food, gorgeous bedroom in this impressive building. Amazing cellar used for late night after party. Staff couldn't do enough for everyone while still managing to keep in the background. Five star day.

Went here for afternoon tea with my daughter. Booking was for 3.30pm and priced at £100. We managed to get seated on time, but were left until nearly 4.30 before anyone got to us. The sandwiches were okay and the cakes were a real disappointment. Not much taste and we had to ask for the preserves as they were forgotten and so were the spoons. Not the best service, certainly not good value for the money. Wouldn’t recommend
