Monroe Aquatics and Fitness Center

Gym

👍👍 The best fitness center around. Our toddler loves the daycare. It’s nice to have a couple hours for him to play with other kids & mom/dad can have a great work out. The gym portion is immense. Has every machine you can want and more. Pool, Jacuzzi, & wet/dry sauna is clean & lifeguards always on dut... People often mention pool, kids, great, time, facility, membership,

The best fitness center around. Our toddler loves the daycare. It’s nice to have a couple hours for him to play with other kids & mom/dad can have a great work out. The gym portion is immense. Has every machine you can want and more. Pool, Jacuzzi, & wet/dry sauna is clean & lifeguards always on duty. During the Summer the Water Park has been our highlight so far. So happy we discovered this fitness center. Truly one of a kind.

They close the indoor lap pool when lightning is within ten miles, ignoring the fact there has never been one fatality from an indoor lightning strike. They keep you safe from folklore, yet have a terrible record when it comes to actual safety. Protect your kids and Google it!

Heard great things due my husband working for a Health insurance called Centenne here in Charlotte lots of coworkers mentioned this facility and Veteran friends. Had to pay a late fee due supposedly non sufficient funds which was incorrect. When I paid the remaining amount plus the late fee which they wouldn’t wave, out of courtesy due some of their employees stating wrong information regards billing then bill to a later date anyways but mark on the blue card when next due of payment is is just confusing and who pays for that mistake of miss information on the end of day ? us Members! Usually you get informed or notified of any changes of the facility is it pool updates or changes , daycare or even payment issues which is a great reminder but which I wasn’t aware of and would might have been the root to the solution. I never received a notification that there’s non sufficient funds via text message or I would have been on my way to fix that immediately but I did receive that „notification“ today after via text at the same time Ive paid the open amount they couldn’t charge previously for whatever reason. And the message clearly said that I had no funds available which is off because at the same time I received my mobile bank notification stating that there’s been a successful withdraw made out of my account. . Why these messages never been send before hand when there was supposedly no funds available or sent when it’s clearly incorrect. Is it a system error I don’t know was it send so it been sent i don’t know. This is just unsettling and misleading. I should have showed that to the front desk having proof that this doesn’t make sense and that the late fee was unjustified. So I canceled my membership for our family because this wasn’t a welcome to me into this community that’s honestly disappointing and no one wants to deal with that esp being a fresh member I don’t begin any relationship like that. This facility is all about health focus and relaxing this is just uncomfortable and I honestly don’t have the time and mind for that to always check if everything goes correct . No apologies been given no questions been asked no thank you’s nothing. Customer service looks different to me or maintaining a relationship with locals at this facility. The reason I decided to pay in person today was because the front desk lady was just being rude on the phone . I received a email about this issue this morning and called in immediately also wondering what’s been going on instead giving me further Instructions to go forward with the payment over the phone I been told if I do want to this payment now or not in a tone which was so uncalled for. I clearly called to make this payment. First I been told no payments are taken over the phone then I been told it’s possible to do so which I wanted to proceed with but not anymore because the way I was spoken to on the phone and to just avoid further issues and having nothing in writing. Ethan I been told that the person what can wave the fee usually never waves it so I wasn’t even given a chance or heard to begin with . Was i annoyed or rude on the phone with the front desk lady because of that or back and fourth or That I had to pay a late fee which was unjustified? No! I was still friendly with her even after all that. Manners and Professionalism plays a big role in this community. Also pools have always issues and are not always available. Workout machines are out dated this facility is to small for the amount of members visiting. Wouldn’t recommend we’ll be back with ymca they honor vets and discussed membership prices. We got our first month discounted here but not afterwards so the monthly rate changed without our knowledge too . All signs to let it go. Other then that water park is great for kids daycare looks cute and well take care of. It’s just some of the employees seeming like not wanting to be there or to be bothered. Some are exciting & polite . Still wishing anyone a great time there if they can have it and enjoy just a few things to look out for.

The indoor pool often has problem (mechanical & technical etc). We paid $50 per month but the pool was closed for 2 weeks for maintenance, waiting for the parts etc. Children under 18 are not allowed in the hot tub. We decided to cancel our membership. If you come here for more than just the pool, it may be ok.

The facilities are in need of an overhaul. The large back room for yoga and excercise has been closed for a month due to ac problems. Now we have to do yoga with lots of noise around us from the gym, hallway shouts, and music from the room next door. The indoor pool was closed for 2-3 weeks for repairs. Ceiling tiles are broken and ready to fall. Some bathroom stalls have been closed off for repairs. But the instructors are first class.

Enjoy this place. My kids have grown up coming here and have graduated from slide to slide. Some cons, especially this year are the hours cut back waaaay before summer is over. I understand staff is short and many are college students but then offer some free LG courses so you have the new (HS) kids training and can finish working the summer. With us not going back til the end of Aug, the pool could then be open during the days in the summer. Who wants to only go to the pool after 4pm?!?! Another is when it is busy, I wish there were more shade spots bc people hog the existing umbrellas and save chairs even though they are not supposed to. Finally, a message to the parents about this pool and any pool for that matter: don't assume that since there are lifeguards on duty that you don't need to still watch your children at all times! There was a situation this year that could have been prevented if all responsible were paying more attention.

Went as a guest with my friend and roommate from college. He has a membership. They charge 15 dollars everytime for a guest accompanying a person with a membership and even though you are paying 15 dollars you can't get in until 7:30pm, which means you are paying that for less than 2 hours of gym time because they close at 9. This is not indicative of a community that is trying to be inclusive and I am able to get a guest in for FREE with my membership at the YMCA. Do better Monroe Aquatic and Fitness Center.

Love Monroe Aquatics!! My buddies and I have been playing racquetball there for years. We play every Saturday, and EVERY Saturday that he's working, Billy Carlson (member of the staff) has the courts cleaned and ready for us before we arrive! He also helps us set up when we have events, or are celebrating someone's birthday. Billy is friendly and helpful...and always takes the time to lend a hand where, and when, needed!! He is a true asset to the facility and the members!!

Horrible staff, old equipment, prices keep going up and when you try to cancel they tell you to come only in person. Then when u do they tell u they are gonna charge another month. The when you come in to make sure it all canceled they are rude to you and try to charge you $15 for 1 hour of gym. I would recommend going to CRUNCH the gym. Cheaper gym and newer gym and staff is amazing and have saunas also.

Great for families - bad for serious lifters. Great value for families, water park is great, lots of cardio. BUT if you’re a serious lifter the weight machines are always broke and take forever to get fixed. Only 1 leg press and it’s broken 1/2 the time. See pics, this was just 1 day.

Pretty fun place with lot to offer. But the pricing isn't for most people. I got a free pass for the week. 150 dollars in start up fees(for what? Paperwork?) Then 78 a month. And there's a contract to keep you from cancelling. Feels a little aggressive financially. But the outdoor pool is fun. Indoor is to when their not doing classes. There's a gym to but I wasn't really there for that. Life guards are inconsistent. Told us we couldn't do things that other people were doing in plain view. Cool place but start up fees and contracts seem a little disrespectful considering the monthly cost is already kinda high.

Hot tub shut down again. Streetshoes on pool area as members use it as an exit contaminating pool are and swimmers carrying contaminants into the pool. Cell phones in the sauna and steam rooms really dull the mood. No towels. Teens in and out of the steam and saunas wearing full sweats then leaving after a few. The continuous in and out of young adults/kids with cell phones is a big turn off.

Love this place!!! Been a member for about a year now and I just love the gym, pool, and basketball court. I need to take advantage of the trainers they have but I will be here for a long time to come

The gym is amazing. The machines in there are awesome. Best part of it all. The only problem is that the outside pool is not meant for anyone over the age of 10. They make it look nice and fun, but there are too many rules, so my kids can't have any fun. For Eg, no jumping in no tag, no wrestling, no balls in the water. No ruffhousing. I understand why they have the rules, but it wasn't fun for my kids
