This is the yoga studio you've been looking for. I promise. The classes are amazing, with a range of levels for experts and novices alike. It is a welcoming, ambient, communal, and spiritually centering place, and I regularly hear newcomers go up to instructors with a gleeful exclamation of "this is the best yoga class I've ever been to", "this is the greatest my spine has felt in ages", or simply "oh my gosh, thank you." The rates are great, and the trial membership package is cheap and gives you unlimited classes to find out what suits you. Tangentially, even the UI of their phone app is great, which makes booking seamless. My only caution is that once you start taking classes here its genuinely hard to go elsewhere, as it feels like you're settling.

One of the best yoga studios in NYC. Love taking classes with Danielle and Lindsey! The studio is clean and calming, and they have props and mats (the good kinds) for you. They have a bathroom and also changing areas.

Great studio that I can tell - had my first class and it was spot on. Instructor was good, little bit of assistance, nice flow. The room was very warm with the radiators but I didn’t mind it. Love that they have mats and props for you so you don’t have to carry through the city. I’d definitely recommend and hope to head back again soon.

i just wanted to let you know that Yogamaya requires proof of vaccination and this policy is strictly enforced. I’m writing this to save others the disappointment of finding out at the door that proof is required. We look forward to the day when we can come back to experience amazing yoga and the wonderful Bryn (we used to live in NY and went to Bryn’s classes - she is amazing!)

Yogamaya is an NYC gem. The studio has warm vibes and exceptional teachers (in the broadest sense). Danielle leads the most epic Level 2/3 vinyasa flows and has a way of guiding us into poses that we probably never would have attempted if we knew where we were going. Amanda M introduces super subtle movements to get us in touch with and align our bodies, while somehow always motivating us to push beyond what we’re giving. The classes here transcend the physical asanas of yoga, with small yet impactful teachings, moving us toward deeper awareness, appreciation, and a quieting of the mind. Grateful for this place!

Got a 2 week unlimited pass and tried to go every day. For any other studio I would have given up, but there is something religiously therapeutic and freeing about this place. It's more than just yoga. It's meditation. It's therapy. It's art. It's spirituality. This place is so special and different from most other yoga studios. If I lived closer I would literally come here every day. The music they play is relaxing and energetic and connects to your soul. This place is where New Yorkers go to rejuvenate from the hustle and bustle of grinding it out in the city.

Amazing classes, incredibly knowledgeable instructors, awesome energy. Meticulous attention to every detail about the space and structure of the classes in order to create a welcoming atmosphere and build a thriving and supportive yoga community. Even the online experience continues to be excellent and keeps you connected when you can't be at the studio in person.

Yogamaya is one of the few exceptional yoga studios in nyc. It has stood the test of time based on the talent and commitment of its staff and support of its community. This is not a corporate studio. It is owned and operated by a long-time yoga teacher. They really care at Yogamaya and it shows. The studio is beautiful and intimate and clean. The teachers know what they are doing. Highly recommend it!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Yogamaya and the incredible community Bryn has cultivated that brings their beautiful space alive. I found Yogamaya in 2014 and its teachers and classes have been a source of light ever since. I can’t wait for their next iteration and will continue taking online classes in the meantime!

While I've only done Zoom classes (I live in Connecticut), but I make a point of leveraging Yogamaya's flexible Zoom schedule because the quality of instruction really is incredible. Post-COVID I will be sure to travel the 90 minutes to the studio-- the community really is that great!

Anytime I’m scheduled to take a class at yogamaya, I look forward to it. The teachers are as knowledgeable as they are kind and welcoming, this on top of the fact that the studio itself is BEAUTIFUL. I am constantly recommending my friends to take class here!

I found Yogamaya right before the pandemic hit. After the first class I took, I knew I had found a very, very special community. When everything went virtual, I continued on with classes. Every class is dynamic, interesting, and surprising, and I learn something new about my body, my mind, and/or my yoga practice every time I take a (physical or virtual) class. There's a class and an instructor for every level and need. The owner, Bryn, is one of the kindest, most welcoming, and knowledgable people I've ever met, and the instructors are similarly warm, intelligent, and so wonderful. I'm so proud that Yogamaya is my yoga home!

I found this studio on my Classpass app whilst visiting New York. It's a really lovely studio. Dawn was super welcoming as was the instructor. There were some regular attendees and they were friendly. I'd definitely recommend this studio for all levels of ability. Props were available and I was able to just show my NHS vaccination record as proof of vaccination status.

My favorite yoga studio in the neighborhood! After going on a month-long hunt for a yoga studio in the city, I have finally found the perfect spot - Yogamaya! The teachers are great, the staff is welcoming, and classes are emotionally and physically powerful. Grateful to have this space :)

I dropped in today for the first time and had such a lovely, warm and welcoming experience from the moment I was greeted at the door. I loved the energy of the instructor and genuinely felt supported in whatever ability I brought to each pose. There is a lot of radiating love and genuine connection here. I am looking forward to coming back regularly to this special place.

Wow this is ridiculous… I’m waiting at the studio right now booked through class pass and accidentally booked the wrong time. I meant to come at 2 but booked 12:30 instead. It’s the same class the same instructor but the owner won’t let me in. Completely don’t understand the reasoning behind this. They said the instructor won’t get paid but it’s the SAME instructor? The worst part is I came with a friend and I would have to wait here for an hour for her and they are saying I can’t stay here and wait either unless the manager says it’s fine. Continued: If you really wanted to be understanding and helpful, there’s a really easy way of working around the policy. Checking me into the other class and let me take this one instead would not hurt anyone. I’m also a certified yoga teacher, I guess from my point of view, I wouldn’t want to be the reason my student has a bad day because I turn them away for a simple mistake, especially when I know that we live in a very stressful time and most ppl seek yoga for relaxation and adjustment of their mindset on the weekends. Not accusing the studio of anything I actually had a great experience the first 3 times I was here, I do think there’s pretty big difference between running a business (putting decorative culture furnitures, burning incense, and reading a performative quote from a book at the beginning a class) and actually care about helping ppl through the philosophy of yoga.

I had amazing time at the Yogamaya. My lovely friend who goes there regularly and introduced me to the studio. I loved their decor, the staff were friendly and helpful, greeting warmly soon I walked in the studio. The style of the yoga was different than what I practiced before, which was great, I am all about trying different things. The vibe was calming and relaxing with music playing at the background, the energy surrounding the studio was just beautiful. I also liked the location where was very easy to get there by train. Will be back soon!

Staff and teachers are great and friendly. Have been to many yoga places where it feels like a rush / soul-cycle type workout class which isn’t the point! Always feel zen / mindfully cleansed after a class. Great they are on classpass. Clean facilities and love the decor. Recommended!

This is a hidden gem in Manhattan. Very convenient location, peaceful atmosphere, and amazing instructors. It feels like time / life can really pause for an hour at Yogamaya. The lessons are fun but also beginner friendly. Highly recommend!

Just left another wonderful vinyasa class at Yogamaya. They have fantastic teachers, a gorgeous, super clean space, a welcoming community, and the staff is friendly and incredibly helpful. I love that they do things outside of vinyasa classes, like a restorative yoga nidra with guided meditation, and a sound bath (pictured below). I look forward to seeing more of those workshops. Overall if you live/work in Chelsea/Flatiron/Union Square you should 100% make this your go-to studio, and even if you don’t (I live in Brooklyn) make it your studio. Your body/mind/spirit will thank you.

Without a doubt my favorite yoga studio in NYC. This is the most beautiful studio - so spacious, soooo zen, beautiful wooden carvings and gorgeous facilities. And the studios are QUIET. Allie is the best teacher!!! Her classes have the perfect balance of physical challenge and that sacred deeper yoga experience. This is NOT a core power yoga experience, thank goodness! She plays a beautiful instrument at the beginning of class, has a thoughtful message, and her sequence is always interesting and challenging to just the right amount. She gives such specific detailed instructions that I always get that extra something out of each position. 100% recommend!!

Yogamaya is my go to studio- I have been practicing yoga for the past +15 years and I always have something new to learn in the studio - Bryn and the rest of the teachers are fantastic human beings and there is no class that does not uplift me. Thank you YogaMaya!

Yogamaya is the ONLY vinyasa studio in NYC that knows what it is doing. What do I mean by that? Well, Yogamaya classes make students of all body sizes and colors feel confident, yogamaya classes teach authentic alignment that helps students safely practice poses as they build strength in mobility, yogamaya classes give you a great workout, are FUN and present AUTHENTIC Vedic lineage yoga--- no colonization here. I dont have ONE bad thing to say about Yogamaya. I have practiced at 15 different studios in NYC, and Yogamaya is the only one that is absolutely perfect. I'm spoiled now, I cannot stand other yoga classes!

Recently started using this studio. Have had a great experience so far. I typically take level one classes. All of my instructors have been very helpful and the space is nice.

Yogamaya is my favorite studio in NY - My favorite being their Yang/Yin class with Music. Their rooms are always hot but not too too hot and sparkling clean. Their happy smiling staff are always there for you to offer a hair tie or a mat towel. I will keep coming back for the encouraging instructors and the beautiful, safe community around Modo.
