Really nice park, Wifey n I went to a Bengali picnic. Park is clean and well maintained, plenty of parking to accommodate everyone that comes. There was multiple reserved picnics going on, as well as the none reserved part having picnics as well. Also went on the paddle boats, you get 2 hrs to go around the lake, which is plenty of time, plus it's a good workout to get rid of all the food you may eat 🤣🤣😂😂, over all I recommend this park both for reserved areas and non reserved.

We love Belmont! This is such a great park for a family friendly experience. There are multiple trails around the lake that you can choose to take. Bike, walk, or run, your choice! Our favorite feature is that it is dog friendly. They have bags for dogs throughout the park, as well as a dog park! They have several events throughout the year, with our favorite being the annual tree lighting in December. Enjoy!

Absolutely gorgeous state park on Long Island! There’s a loop that is about a mile and another route which makes the loop a bit longer. There are plenty of picnic tables to bring lunch and enjoy a nice day along with a field to play catch or throw a frisbee. Also plenty of places to sit around the lake. Lots of ducks and swans which are fun to see while enjoying views of the lake. It’s currently free to get in, I believe till April. Great spot to check out!!

It’s a very nice park. There is a area for Punic, play area for kid with slides. Have pedals boats. A very nice lake . You can play socket. You will pay 8 dollars for entering. The payment can be done with cash or credit or debit.

Beautiful Lake nestled near South Shore of Long Island and easy to get to from anywhere. The trees are beautiful and fall is a great time to go and see the beautiful changing colors of the leaves. In the summer you can take a paddle boat out to cruise around the lake. There is plenty of parking and facilities are present in the park as well as lots of space to picnic. Take a walk around the lake or you can bike on the path as well. It is dog friendly too! There are additional trails that loop you around the perimeter of the property away from the main lake section of the park and I also discovered a baseball field and basketball court. There's also a special section for dogs to run and play. This park has something for everyone .. a true gem on the South Shore.

Awesome park nestled off the southern state parkway. Great family fun and excellent cleanliness by park attendants. The $8 fee for parking is worth it for the service they provide

Went on a Sunday during summer. Not too many people around, plenty of space. Was able to rent a boat easily, no wait. $8 dollar entry fee to get into park. $20 dollars to rent a paddle boat. They also have kayaks, and row boats available for rent. A lot of available Parking spots. Lake was nice a lot of birds and small fish. Large selection of trails to walk/Bike in woods and around the lake.

Very nice park that's very spacious. Has a large parking lot ($8 fee during high season, free off season). There's a very nice playground for children. Good hiking trails. Picnik areas & plenty of benches. Great nature with full of life. Great to watch the sunset here with ducks in the lake. Public bathrooms available & close at sunset. picnic & grilling area with lake views, a good mix of easy or expansive nature trails, and plenty of boating activities. It's very dog friendly and there is a dog park as well. There was a Ice cream truck when I came. I heard there is a variety of food trucks during the weekend. Highly recommend.

I visited the park in February and had no entry fee. I walked around the lake and enjoyed the birds in the lake. Nice place for walking, jogging, biking,.. etc. The restroom was open in the middle of winter.

Paddle boat was nice... The bike trail however is not road bike friendly. The place is great for a family afternoon... It would be perfect if the ice cream truck accepts credit cards... 🤣

Wonderful state park if you’re planning a fun day out. Great picnic & grilling area with lake views, a good mix of easy or expansive nature trails, and plenty of boating activities. Additionally, there a dog park, playground, and plenty of food trucks on the weekend. In my experience, bathrooms are also pretty clean which is a major plus.

I love this place because you can go around the whole park and look at beautiful sunsets in the evening and there are two playgrounds they are safe. I haven't heard one child get hurt. There are also restrooms, and you can walk your dog (if they are responsible and if they don't bite). You could also have a picnic

Beautiful state park that is within walking distance for me. Nice wide trails to walk through and beautiful scenery around the lake (especially when the leaves start to change). You can also continue trail under the bridge and walk through the horse trails all the way down to Babylon Village.

Trails are nice and sitting by the lake is tranquil during sunset) thr boats ate fun too. As much of a dog lover that I am, I hate that (not all) people don't keep their dogs on a leash nor curb their dogs. I've either stepped in dog poo or have had massive dogs run up to my small children. And the bathrooms are always vile. As if people do not know how to pee in a toilet. Always smell like bleached hot urine.

Belmont Park is clean beautiful, refreshing. It has a great playground a beautiful lake swans to paddle around in. I think it's spectacular in the fall, great for summer barbecues for and for a nice hike or bicycle ride. My kid love the ducks and we love the colors of the foliage in the fall. Beautiful Park. Very well maintained

Always enjoy my walks in this park. Closes at sunset. You share the trail with horses, hikers, fisherman, birders, bikes and occasionally motorized skate boards. Lots of action on these trails so if you're looking for a quite place this may not be for you. Lots of leashed and unleashed dogs. Mostly clean for the most part. Peaceful with running streams, lakes and bridges throughout the park. I've seen lots of wildlife throughout the years from waterfowl birds ducks, swans to sing birds to birds of pretty owls, and even foxes. Mostly maintained trails unless you go of the main trails.

What a beautiful park! Many people utilize it for dog walking, jogging, exercising, picnicking, row boating, cycling, and enjoying nature. A paved path goes around the lake. If you go under the Southern State, you can walk to Southards Pond Park which is also beautiful.

Cost money during season. Nice playgrounds and lake. There are a lot of ducks and swans here that come very close to people. They have boating during the season. This is a great place.

It's one of the most beautiful parks in NY. We had a BBQ party and it was relaxing. The Swan swimming around the lake and the gust sure will wash your stress off the weeks. The ice cream from the cart was so good. The scenery was soothing.

Made a quick stop here to take some photos after the snow storm. This park is already a favorite of my family. The added layer of snow gave the scenery more depth and accented it's beauty!

Entrance to the park is $8 Pedal boat is $20 (tax included) for 2 hours. My experiences was good. It took like an hour to get from one end to the other with quick breaks to take pictures and to rest. I would love if they decided to upgrade their life jackets, it looks old and some are broken.

Perfect day! Nice amount of people enjoying the boats, fishing, bbq's and just strolling the park. So many nicely behaved dogs too! Most importantly- the ice cream truck was there😊

Love these trails and peaceful scenery. It's got something for everyone. If you have kids, there are two playgrounds right upon entry to the left and right. Restrooms are front and center. Looks like you can even canoe in the lake. This was an amazing place to take in nature and be in tranquility. I recommend going in Autumn so you can catch all those beautiful colors! Usually have always seen swans, ducks, and geese too. Little workout stations have been added which was a nice option. Overall, definitely worth the trip!

Really nice park, we always have our picnics here and never have a problem. Workers come to clean up the garbage pails frequently, children love the ducks and swans at the lake, also playgrounds. Taking off one star only because the bathrooms could be a lot cleaner.

We did the Kidney Walk here on Sunday May 21. I love this park, beautiful weather and the scenery is Awesome!! Great crowd of really nice people. Our childhood church had the Sunday School picnics here every year. My brothers taught me how to row a boat here.

I'd stay away from this park on any holiday or weekend, it can get mobbed very easily. Not so much fun in the age of Covid if you feel like your at an oversold concert... When you are only at a local park. If you go during a rainy day or weekday it can be extremely peaceful

We were looking to see the American Bald Eagle seen in the area; however, there were no sightings this day. We did see a black and white warbler, many red-winged blackbirds and other local birds. The garlic mustard plants were in full bloom and perhaps too tasty to resist for my nephew?🤔😉😋

  • 5/5 Christy C. 2 years ago on Google
Easy 1 mile hike around the Belmont Lake. Plenty of picnic tables and bbq’s for public use. The paddle boats are available for rent during the day. The trail isn’t perfectly paved, but it is stroller and kids friendly, very easy to walk. The trail is easy to follow, not really need to follow the trail marks. It also has a large lawn for kids to play balls (bring your own ball though). Dog is allowed in this State Park.
