A very serene and tranquil beach. It’s very clean, not as crowded as other Long Island beaches. There is ample parking with clean restrooms and concession stands. Great for walks or just spend the day in water or sunbathing. You can walk all the way to the Light House at Fire Island and beyond walking on this beach. We love walking here.

Fabulous beach any time of year, especially on New Year's Day. The sand is wonderfully fine and the ocean is gorgeous. There is a boardwalk at Field 5 for a pleasant walk to the Fire Island Lighthouse which has a small museum and gift shop. The 168 foot climb up the 182 spiral iron steps leads to a breathtaking view from the top of the lighthouse! The Fresnel Lens Building adjacent to the lighthouse contains a two-story first order fresnel lens!! Dont forget to take the short boardwalk to the inlet-side and relax on the bench or beach. Walk further east through the quaint communities of Fire Island and back along the ocean to the parking field.

I loved the beach at Robert Moses State park! Visiting the area of Long Island it is a must see experience. It's a $10 fee to park no matter how many in the car. This is how the state parks charge in lieu of beach tags per person like the Jersey Shore. There are rest stop buildings for changing, bathrooms, and snacks at any field you park. Beautiful, clean beaches, and everyone is spread out. Lifeguards are absolutely amazing. They saved people three separate times today & everyone was clapping for them. Their jobs are no joke! Thankful for them. Take a ride for a wonderful experience.

First of all, the drive to this place is awesome! You have to cross many bridges and the route is very scenic. We paid $10 for the parking (Field 5) and there is ample space even during weekends. There is a boardwalk from the main beach to the Fire Island lighthouse. The lighthouse closes by 3:30pm but the views outside are really beautiful too. The beach opposite the lighthouse is less crowded but equally good and has great waves. There is an amazing restaurant at this beach that serves drinks, food and ice cream, with several options to choose from. Restrooms and shower areas are right beside this restaurant. There is also a paid pedi cab service, located at the parking lot to take you to Kismet. It is not very easy to cycle near this beach as cycles aren't allowed on the boardwalk and the other paths are too gravelly. Overall, we loved this beach! It is perfect for a relaxing afternoon on a hot summer day.

Great beach! Very clean and can get busy pretty fast..There are a few different entry points, but we ended up going to Entrance 5. (Also note that when looking up the best entry point, a lot of people said Entrance 5). To enter the beach, its $10/day -- but I believe there is also a seasonal(?) pass you can purchase if you plan to visit very often. Pros: -Clean and well-maintained beach -Clean bathrooms with many stalls -Food/drinks available (entrance 5) -Not too crowded Cons: -Likely to get busier as the days get hotter and water gets warmer When entering this beach, we noticed this one has a restaurant/bar/cafe where you can get food and drinks which is awesome! Not sure if the other beaches have this…Bathrooms are also pretty large and there are 10+ stalls. Although the area where you first enter the beach is a bit crowded, as you walk a bit further down the beach, it clears up pretty quickly. Everyone was pretty good about social distancing and it did NOT feel too claustrophobic. Currently, the water is too cold to swim (unless you’re brave) but the beach was very clean and well-maintained. Excited to return many more times this summer!

Robert Moses field 4 is our favorite field. The beach is clean, beautiful, has accommodations and plenty of awesome lifeguards watching over! It is definitely the Field to check out! Whether you swim, sunbathe or just read a book, you will enjoy your day at the beach. Long islands very own gem!

The best beach. Respectful people , very clean and a pleasure to be at. Everybody minds their own business and does there own thing. Very short walk to the water at Field #5. Food and beverages available. Great vibe ! Get there before 11:00 am to ensure you get parking , the lot is small and fill up fast only on weekends and holidays. Plenty of parking during the week.

Amazing...clean and laid back. The beach goers are nice. Almost has that when you used to go to the park as a child and made friends vibe. Spoke to some people. Family friendly and calm atmosphere. Lifeguards are attentive. Small incident that could have turned ugly (one family wasn't monitoring child in water). Don't underestimate the ocean and the waves at this one. Spent all day here from a.m. and left at 7p.m. when getting caught in a storm that came out of nowhere..lol. Nice drive in. Will return before summers end and so far this beauty is my favorite... and all in NY!

Beautiful beach and clear water. Even the bridges and lighthouse looks really good to get to that place. My family loved this beach and will be visiting every year. Lot of lifeguards around the water. Again Absolutely gorgeous beach. Parking $10

Really nice, guarded beach. There weren’t too many people and the water was cold but felt really nice. It seemed pretty safe to swim and there was a surprising amount of surf. I would come back here again.

One of the cleanest beaches in the United States. I have visited so many beaches in the United States, but didn’t find that many clean beaches except Virginia Beach, and this particular beach. Due to Canadian wildfire we got less people over there and we enjoyed the beach very early in the morning. We collect some dead shell as a token. overall kids enjoyed it a lot.

Spent an Amazing Sunday at the beach. Was bit crowded but there were spots to settle comfortably. Beautiful beach for spending hours in the water, safe for families and kids can learn to surf. Very attentive lifeguards. Clean showers and changing rooms. Drinks, food and ice cream available.Overall very happy with the beach, location condition and facilities. Cleaning staff is working hard to keep the place clean and I request everyone to help them as much as you can by putting your garbage in the places provided.

This is my 2nd time on Long Island, and it's kind of a treasure, the beaches are spectacular. Drove down to check it out on business, caught some Deer grazing at sunset. I loved how so many people were stopping. The sunset views were transitioning & amazing. What a spot!

Grew up here. A jewel on the NE coast. Beautiful quality sand. Facilities can use a bit of an update, but overall a great state park. Doesn’t get as much traffic from the city like Jones Beach, so remains relatively less packed in the summer.

Great beach with plenty of space for all. You can either be up close to the waves or hang back by the dunes and enjoy the best beach on Long Island. They have facilities, and up at the concession, you can grab a cold drink!

We always have a great time and it’s one our favorite LI state park/beaches. We went to Democratic Point. Be aware that at times there are a lot of flies and they will bite. Unfortunately this day we took the RV & we had to leave due the large amount of flies biting us.

The Ocean was simply breathtaking! It was drizzling outside so we had it to ourselves! I was born close to this ocean so it's definitely one of my favorite places! These are pictures from Field 2! There is no charge in the winter months, so a great time to have a personal private experience!

It's just so calming and serene. Fishing or on the beach with my family. It's clean which is most important and there's nothing like open ocean as opposed to the sound

Nice beach, beautiful view, soft white sand, small wave so many people can swim in the shore or sun bathing or hang out at the beach. You can walk to the Lighthouse not far from the beach. (Video credit to Sariati Dipetto).

Beautiful day to go to the beach, was a little windy but nothing crazy. Love to park and walk to the lighthouse always a easy way to clear my head. Walked even a little further to kismet for my first time

We spend the whole day here barbecuing and having some fun. Although it is late summer, the water is a bit cold. Some of the sections are surfing and swimming friendly as others don’t have life guard, so make sure you chose the right section to go to. Pets are not allowed. The beach is NOT CROWDED at all. The sun set is gorgeous.

Go to the far end of field 5 to park. The boardwalk to the lighthouse is an easy, stroller friendly walk on plank boards the whole way. There’s plenty of coastal plants and vegetation which offer some visual interest, with intermittent views of the ocean. There’s not really any shade on this walk! You can also hire a pedicab to take you to the lighthouse and gift shop, not sure how much it is but it looks fun.

Beautiful long beach with a gradual entry to ocean waves. The five fields have a fair amount of parking and their own concessions and bathrooms. The ocean breeze was wonderful on a hot day.

Been going every Columbus Day holiday for decades now. Always clean. Bathrooms well taken care of too! BBQ grills and plenty of garbage cans. Benches/tables available. It was a bit cold in 2021, but there have been years shorts were needed!
