Low prices. Quality food. Great place to sit and chill great choices Of American Mexican cuisine. Started off with a jalapeño margarita. Super fresh tasting. The jalapeño was green and ripe and spicy! Be careful! Lol. The chips that come out on the table are good. But the tomatillo green sauce that comes out with is is the best thing here! Yummmm Addicting sauce. Seriously. Forgot to take photos of the food because o was so hungry. Anyway I ordered 3 crunch and munch tacos. They come with ground beef in them. And the beef is not greasy. Basically a hard taco with a layer of retried beans. And put a soft taco inside. Also ordered a carne asada steak. Which was very good. They should make the chips Mexican colored. And maybe incorporate some horseradish into dishes. Come here grab a beer and a taco. Great value

Food is good however we placed a to go order on a Thursday afternoon. The bill was $250 they charged a 20% gratuity ($50) and on top that... they charged a high service fee. The bill came to almost $400. For what?? They didn't serve us.. ridiculous and it took 2 hours on top if that.

I really love this place! The food is always really delicious (& amazing for the price because it’s so affordable). The service is slow sometimes but only because they get really busy on weekend nights - not their fault! The bathrooms are always really dirty and the women’s one doesn’t even have lights in it, but the food is good enough to keep all 5 stars.

Hard to rate but I can tell you my own experience. Went on a weekend. Place was extremely busy. Crowd looked to be on the younger side. I asked how long it would be and was told about 35 minutes. Against my better judgment, I decided to wait. The hostess took my cell phone number. After waiting about 30 minutes, I inquired how much longer and was told that it would be "awhile". At that point, I decided to leave and went elsewhere. I received a call about 2 hours later! I honestly don't know how the food is. I suspect that most weren't there for the food necessarily but more so just because it's a popular place which is clearly is. But I just don't have it in me to wait that amount of time to grab some tacos no matter how swell they might be.

5 stars for the food! Unfortunately my take out order has been missing items almost every single time I order. It’s almost comical how the take out side of the business could forget items so often. I have now learned my lesson and must check everything before I leave the parking lot. Too many times I’ve found out when I got home. Maybe the management can address this issue??

The atmosphere gets 2 stars because the music is so loud that you can't have a conversation. Maybe they keep it loud to you get out of there quicker because there's always a wait of 45 minutes or more. Sad because we've been coming here since 2013, when you could sit and enjoy a meal without ear damage. :(

Swell Taco did our taco truck for our wedding, it was hit! Everyone could not stop talking about how much they loved the tacos. They were also so easy to work with, responsive and helpful. Much needed when planning a wedding.

Came here on a Saturday night and it felt like walking into a frat house or college party. The place did not look clean, young adults with no proper manners were 'working' and people were smoking outside where people were eating. We didn't bother waiting to be seated, could only imagine what's going on in the kitchen there...and went next door to Del Fuego. One could actually hear and see there and didn't feel like we were crammed in a college bar setting. Like night a day.

Freaking delicious. First time there. Wasn't expecting the atmosphere that was there. It was like a beach restaurant of sorts. Everyone was very nice. But next time I'm probably gonna get it to go. Didn't wanna eat at such a loud place. That's not to say it was bad. It just wasn't my thing. I wanted someplace quiet to eat. Can't wait to eat the loaded nachos again. They were out of this world.

I had two tacos from their food truck and all I can say that is positive is that it didn’t make me sick. It was otherwise a trash taco. I can cook a better taco and I’d bet money on it.

Went in on a Wednesday night and was pretty packed so we decided to get take out. Definitely liked the atmosphere though and the staff was friendly also. We wanted to like it here but the food just wasn't very tasty to us. Chicken tacos lacked flavor as well as the nachos. We also got the buffalo chicken burrito which wasn't spicy at all just tangy.

I really think I would like this place a lot more if there weren't so many fruit flies. The service at lunch was decent. The Three amigos taco choice was good as well. I just can't over all the fruit flies. Hopefully you guys get this taken care of. Not good when you're trying to enjoy a meal.

I love swell taco, but we had to wait like an hour on Thursday night. I had a few beers while we waited, I noticed a People linger at their tables for a long time after they’re done with their meals. For example, the table next to us had four guys talking for hours they were there the entire time we were waiting my wife and I ate our meals and we’re done, and they were still at their table. They should put a time limit on how long you linger . That’s why the wait there is always so long.

It's a great spot for tacos and hanging with your friends. Be sure to adjust for about 2hrs of being here depending on time of day. Tacos are all made to order at this restaurant. So depending on how busy things are and how large of an order is in, have some drinks and relax. There are two special days to come in for the hidden tacos which are Mondays and Thursdays as an FYI.

Really enjoyed our visit. Drinks were excellent as well as the food. We shall return. Highly recommend

Cheap food (which is rare to find in Long Island), the ambiance is comfy and the food it’s ok. The quesadillas were very tasty! They also have a great selection of beer

My friend and I had a great time here. The margaritas were so good and the waitress was super friendly and told us about the daily specials going on. The tacos were very filling and good. I will be back again.

It was my first time coming here. The food at this place was amazing. I got the shrimp tacos, and one chicken taco. The drink was ok. Our waitress ID’d us for our drinks (which is fine). She took a Quick Look at my ID, and said she cannot accept it. I showed her my credit card as a second source of identification and she said she had to get her manager to weigh in. Her manager came and looked at my ID, and accepted it. This experience was such a shame and embarrassing. This only happened to me once before. Ridiculous. Get a brain.

Matt is awesome. Super cool server. Tacos are amazing and fresh ingredients. No frills taco spot. Only thing that sucks is the waiting. Sometimes they'll tell you it'll be an hour and it's either longer or way shorter.

We loveeee swell taco! The food and drinks are always amazing and the staff works quickly and are very nice! This is our go-to date night spot!

Great little place and the food is delicious. Went with my girlfriend and we enjoyed every aspect of the atmosphere and food. Chad was our waiter and the service was second to none. Can’t wait to go back. Tacos are delicious, in case your looking for a recommendation. I think I had the double wraps?

Given that this is a corn tortilla serving establishment, having gluten-free options listed on the menu would be an easy win. However, there are none to-date. Del Fuego has an entirely separate gluten-free menu, which is above and beyond. I have plans to visit this restaurant, but have not visited yet. I will update my rating when I do.

Bad experience, poorly managed. Hostess needs training, completely mishandled seating for a party of 9. Waited over an hour as we watched smaller groups (2 or 3 people) that came in after us get seated at large tables that would’ve accommodated our group size. Owner Brooke, tried to accommodate us after we made our grievance known about what we were observing, however after waiting another 10mins, we walked out. If they can’t figure out how to sit 9 people on a Thursday night at 8pm, I didn’t want to find out how bad the rest of the service would be.

The people are nice here, but how can people call this Mexican food? It's "americanized" less-seasoned mexican style food. The nachos are eh, the cheese sauce on the chips tasted pasty and odd. I'm aware that the location in Patchogue closed, I can see why.. I feel that the people who love this taco spot are the people who only eat steak and potatoes. Just a foodie's opinion.

Pretty good. It was really busy but we still were able to get our food fairly fast. Would recommend going here. Food is good, complimentary chips were nice. I got a burrito and it was the best wrapped burrito I've ever had.

An intimate spot serving up west coast inspired fare at more than reasonable prices. Try to get in early if you can, limited seating can push wait times up rather quickly. That being said, the wait has been worth it every time.

The wait is the worst part. If you get there when it opens or if you can get past the wait it’s totally worth it! I bring all my friends, super cheap, great food, good vibes! I just wish there was another location or a larger place to help with the wait. It’s the only thing that keeps me going from there all the time :)

I have been coming here since 2013. Them becoming the as big as they have, is both exciting and evidence how great it is there. Love the atmosphere, food is delicious, and no expensive, and the margaritas are addicting

My boyfriend and I got drinks and burritos here on July 8th, 2022. There was a bit of a wait, but the food was delicious, drinks were strong, and the service was fast and friendly. Definitely good vibes.

The spot to be! If you know, you know. They are always busy. Prices are super fair, margaritas are perfect. Pro tip, chicken flautas. Every taco is dope, they run daily/weekly specials. You can drink their signature green salsa its that good. They always have fresh/local beers. There is outdoor dining and they are dog friendly. The staff is always awesome, a lot of employees have been there for years so goes to show. We don't live too close but when were in the area or just craving Swell, we have to go. Super chill vibe, surfing/skate videos playing, great music, awesome food, always great service. Thank you crew! See you soon.

Swell Taco has a very cool aesthetic, they stream surfing and skate videos inside and have a beautiful outdoor seating area. During our visit all the windows and doors were open allowing a very fresh and chill vibe. All the walls have skateboard and surfboards hung as well as plenty of skate/surf stickers everywhere. Their drinks are delicious and the dish I had was okay, unfortunately they can not easily accommodate gluten allergies.
