Amazing place! 3 flors of great exhibitions! Over 100 carriages from the US and some from Europe. The museum is part of the Long Island Museum.

This Museum is Great. There is so much to see. The people that work there are just fantastic. They are so knowledgeable about the Carriages. We really enjoyed ourselves.

We had a wonderful time looking at the historic carriages and learning about the history of them and the roads/transportation of Long Island. What a wonderful museum. They even had some carriages from William Vanderbilt that I believe I saw displayed at the Vanderbilt Museum years ago. We had the museum to ourselves and really enjoyed our visit here. We will be back again.

Perfect for a rainy day! So cheap, and a great learning experience. There are multiple floors and rooms of different carriages, and sleds throughout history. One thing I really appreciated was the use of sound effects and visuals (fake fire, mannequins of humans and horses, the moving parts on a certain display, the sounds of horses with their neighs and clip clops, videos, and audio presentations). Tips: -park at the Long Island Museum across the street, this is where you pay as well. Inside is currently an art gallery(this changes periodically). You will get a map here of the different buildings and staff is so helpful as well.

We visited the Carriage Museum and the children had so much fun they were able to see and learn so much about the history of carriages. So rich in history. Highly suggested.

This was a nice little museum. Clean , quiet, no huge crowds, didn't feel rushed. Some pretty interesting exhibits. I actually enjoyed the Art Exhibit they had at the time of my visit.

A gem that I never knew was here. The building doesn't look as big as it is because the majority of the exhibit is underground. I was here for the Culper Spy Ring event and they had one of the letters on exhibit. It was amazing to see. Also, the number and types of carriages on display is impressive. I recommend this to history buffs and people that appreciate older modes of transportation.

Excellent museum to witness transportations past in front of you. These items are in excellent condition and provide an insight into our history. Should not be missed.

This is a great place to visit at any time ..I remember coming here when I was a little girl on our school field trip ..that was a long time ago ..since then I've been back at least 10 other times if no to more ..it's as nice ride to get there nd you will definitely do spend a nice part of your day there .the area you go into to buy ticket usually has some kind of art exhibit this last time September 2021 they had a blown glass exhibit it might still be there the pieces were just remarkably beautiful ..they also had some watercolor s nd painting just wonderful to purchase ..I wish I could have bought a bunch ..so after that you'll walk over to the Carriage Museum and you will be very surprised how large it is nd the amount of carriages you'll see each one is nicer than the next ..the grounds are nice to walk nd then make sure you walk up to the museum ..this September the exhibit was Tiffany s lamps ..just amazing ..my family loves visiting here .there are plenty of places to eat in and around the area .. To he Grist Mill isn't far from there either plan a visit nd enjoy yourselves the way we do ..

Super cool museum! Will definitely be back to check out everything again. Took a picture of an “electric automobile” from 1902! Who knew Teslas were throwbacks? 😆

The largest carriage collection in the whole country with over 110 carriages?!? From the looks of it, I have to agree! Was a really cool place to visit!

Beautiful museum, large selection of carriages, with great written descriptions. Great lay out. Worth a visit.

The museum is worth a trip. But. It has the worst signage of any museum I have ever been to. It has no signs to get from one place to another. This makes the visit difficult. Otherwise 4 stars.
