Beautiful small museum. Impeccably kept and easy to explore and accessible. On the second floor, the Staten Island SEEN art exhibit was very good. From their website: “The exhibition traces the borough’s unique history and landscape from the 17th century to the present.” Plenty of parking right behind the museum. Lots of bathrooms. $8 entrance fee.

I visited the Impractical Jokers Homecoming exhibit and absolutely LOVED it! They have a BUNCH of props from the show, displays on how the Tenderloins grew to their current level of success, video interviews of the guys, behind the scenes stories, etc. It's absolutely worth the visit for any Impractical Jokers/Tenderloins fans!!!

We went when a Korean exhibition was going on. Very nice -especially kid friendly. I recommend taking mass transit (we took ferry from NYC and walked our way to the museum). Very nice experience -too bad you can't post videos here, there was an epic violin-piano duo who were extra awesome

The Staten Island Museum is one of NYC's hidden gems. The museum's collection is eclectic and contains important art and artifacts. It has a large collection of natural science objects, including a major entomology collection, an art collection which spans centuries, and a history collection/archives. The original museum is on Stuyvesant Place near the Staten Island Ferry. The "new" museum is on the grounds of Snug Harbor Cultural Center. It is beautiful. There are a number of galleries, including contemporary art, painting (which includes Hudson River School painter Cropsey), and a delightful Treasure Box gallery. The Treasure Box contains varied objects and art from the museum's collection. It is so cool. There is also a history display, which includes wall panels showing the progression of Staten Island from farmland to city. It is located in the auditorium, where programming such as lectures, performances, and literary programming takes place. There is fun programming at the museum, too, for adults and children. I can't say enough about this museum. It is handicapped accessible via side entrance, a short bus ride (S40) from the Staten Island Ferry.

Our experience was top notch! It has so many interesting exhibits. Looking forward to the tribute to Sea View Hospital's "Black Angels" exhibit on Jan. 25, 2024! These Black nurses are unsung heroes, this exhibit will be inspirational and educational!

This museum is trying to do too much and succeeds at nothing. It is simultaneously a natural history, American art, ancient art, and science museum but only has one room of each. This museum is obviously well funded compared to the rest of the area and I think the money would be better used elsewhere. Not worth the admission, go somewhere else instead.

Four small rooms is the exhibit, not worth driving to. The snug harbor park, and gardens is very nice and that would get 5 stars.

Unlike any museum I've ever been to. Very intimate settings with a unique layout

People at front desk were very kind and helpful with buying tickets. One of the curators was kind enough to walk through the exhibits and tell us fun facts about the Impractical Jokers exhibit. The people working there are very kind. Wonderful experience.

Closed except for Fri-Sun. And it's really closed. No public restroom is available (they claimed there was one in building G but it was closed as well) and all the restrooms on the map are either closed or non-existent. The park is nice though and the Alléé is beautiful.

Impressive and cool. It is has a large variety of almost everything you can think of. If you have a child you can go the Staten island CHILDRENS museum nearby or you can also bring them here whatever you want. I love this place it's very interesting

The Staten Island Museum is top notch. We went to a food fest in one building which is in it's fourth year. Many local and nearby vendors. Cookies, butters, breads, and many others! Then walked the grounds which has greenhouses, gazebos, pagodas and many other buildings from early 1900's. Google the history. Then a stop at Eggers ice cream shop on the grounds. Where Santa is having pictures taken. Membership is recommended for locals, not expensive and free admission for a year.

I liked my time here, was nice a cool break from the heat outside too. It really isn't very big, but had some nice historic paintings from the area as well as some modern art. Would be nice to have more history about Staten Island.

This was a wonderful place for a whole group, a family or a few friends. Although it CAN be confusing to walk around and you can easily get lost. Fortunately there are signs, maps that are easily obtainable and the people who work there very helpful.

Made a special visit to this museum to see the Magicicada exhibit. Very unique perspective on insects. The museum is small but it packs a lot of art history inside.
