We had the BEST time visiting! We went on a Friday afternoon and we were the only people there. The staff was absolutely incredible. They’re so friendly and knowledgeable. Most of all, they’re really great with kids. The man who showed us around downstairs was just wonderful. He taught my daughter so much and explained it all in a very kid friendly way. He was so patient and really took his time with us. We had a great visit and can’t wait to go back!

Cool place... stumbled on it trying to go to the Children's Museum across the street w/o a reservation. This place was small, but had a lot of cool things. I think there may have been more outside in warmer weather..? I took my 8 year old with me and he was entertained. I wish it were bigger, but the staff there was excellent (at least one woman) and helped us understand, narrated all the exhibits, and let us hold a few of the animals (small insects, crab, snake).

A nice, little museum right across the street from the Children's Museum of the East End. It has exhibits of local flora & fauna, some are alive & some are stuffed. So, it's kind of like part museum with non-living displays of local ecosystems, and part aquarium with living insects, reptiles & amphibians from the local area. They even have a small touch pool with crabs, starfish, etc. The staff was very knowledgeable & so nice. They have an outdoor trail walk that looks great, too but the rain started before we could do that. We're planning on going back for that on a nicer day. Highly recommend you stop here if you're out that way. It's definitely worth your time to support this little hidden gem.

A very nice museum with exhibits on the area's natural (nature) history. Informative with live animals and a touch tank of starfish, hermit crabs, etc. During nice weather you can even take a nature trail walk on the premises. My little ones enjoyed their time there.

A hidden gem. It was a hot day so the Centre wasn't very busy. The staff were great with the children and so knowledgeable and passionate. They even recommended another place to visit which was just great - The Quogue Wildlife Refuge (free to enter and a good 2hr walk through forest and we saw some lovely wildlife including deer). Do enjoy watching the Ospreys in their large nest.

We had a great visit to the museum! We thought it would be a quick visit but ended up spending a significant amount of time there. Tyler, one of the employees, is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to walk us through the exhibits. He's awesome! The interactive tank was a lot of fun. We will definitely go back!

Great staff, everyone was very friendly and educated us on the many ecosystems LI has! Very kid friendly place. There's a hands on fish tank. The grounds are open to walk on the trails.

Spent an amazing morning at SOFO with my 4 & 6 y/o grandsons. Exhibits were great but what really made the experience outstanding were the staff. They knew their stuff and were excited to share their knowledge with us all. The touch tank was a hit with my 6 y/o who got to hold a spider crab. The 4y/o was thrilled to be able to touch almost everything else, including the opossum! Outdoor areas were closed due to icy conditions so we will definitely be going back!

👍👍 Came around noon on a Saturday in off season. Exceptional wine tasting. Anthony was super friendly and knowledgeable, and he hooked us up! Wines and vermouths were solid across the board, and we ended up grabbing a pair to take home with us. One of the best tasting experiences we’ve had. Well worth...

👍👍 A small unique art exhibition opens only on weekends. This is a creative use of lighting and color housed in a building that once was a firehouse and later a church.
