The
park
has
restrooms
that
are
generally
unlocked,
baseball
fields,
a
kiddie
play
area,
a
full-size
basketball
court,
and
a
tennis
court.
A
lovely
gated
9/11
tribute
portion
that
must
be
seen,
as
simple
words
cannot
begin
to
describe
the
magnificents.
Last,
the
small
yet
noted
cons:
The
pond
is
murky
as
its
primary
source
is
polluted
by
runoff
water.
That
is
to
say
any
cigarette
butts,
antifreeze,
oil,
fertilizers,
plastic,
and
other
irresponsibly
disposed
or
induced
matter
spills
into
the
pond
via
the
street
drains.
In
days
of
yore,
the
clean
water
actually
served
as
a
swimming/bathing
area
during
the
hot
summer
months.
There
is
a
beautiful
fountain
in
the
center
of
the
pond,
Canadian
geese
and
Mallard
ducks
are
present
during
the
warmer
months.
Fish
are
found
in
the
dirty
water
—
primarily,
carp
that
some
crazy
individuals
fish
for,
catch,
keep
and
ingest.
The
pathways
are
severely
peppered
with
geese
and
duck
poo,
so
be
wary
of
where
you
step,
run,
bike
and
so
forth.
All
in
all,
not
a
bad
place
to
explore.
I
took
a
star
away
because
the
DPW
or
other
party
has
NEVER
dealt
with
the
cleaning
of
the
filthy
pathways.
