Bethpage is a beautiful State Park on Long Island. It had a playground, a good facility, picnic area, and hiking trails. It is particularly beautiful in the Fall when the leaves are changing. It's a great respite from the fast pace of the island.

A great place right in my backyard that I don't take advantage of. I wish that they would focus more attention on amenities besides golf. They should make more environmental focused changes, and get people exploring nature. It's always golf, golf, golf.. how about nature, trees, and conservation?!

This state park is home to the best public golf course on Long Island. The 5 courses are all in great condition and offer golf of varying difficulty for any type of player.

Bethpage State Polo grounds are great. Games are Saturdays. I'm there on standby as a Medic(not how I imagined seeing a Polo match) Buy tickets & check it out. The VIP area is amazing. The rest of the park is beautiful as well!!

Bethpage is a very nice state park. Fge golf courses are top notch. The black course is ultra challenging for the weekend golfer. The other courses and good to play and provide an enjoyable day out. The entrance area and golf store are nicw. The golf course is very scenic.

This place was an excellent spot to have fun with family especially young kids. The jungle gym is very intricately designed for maximum fun. My 5 year old son had a great time swinging and sliding and climbing and running around and spinning and bouncing and generally having an outstanding time. He said he likes this park even more than the one at Domino Park in Williamsburg!! I was like whoa but that one was best on earth I thought. No this one, he said. The reason this park gets 4 stars is because they failed the most basic trait of any park, let alone a STATE park: the 3 water fountains in walking distance from the playground that I found were all not working. How pathetic. The facilities such as the bathroom were working, including the machine taking money for parking. But not water fountains which are essential for life. I mean come on New York State what’s the issue? Why can’t you fix the water fountains?? Other than that a very nice visit with the family!!😁

It seems like this park has everything you could want! The area features a golf course, a baseball field, a bike route, and a hiking trail. I'm sure I've forgotten something else, too. It's always spotless and calming to visit here.

I was at Bethpage yesterday for the PGA Championship. I have played golf at Bethpage State Park. The park was transformed with hospitality tents, merchandise and more. Even without Tiger Woods, it was a great day. I will have to get out there and play a round.

Thought this was a great experience, massive golf complex with the 5 different courses, but efficiently managed. Can get walk up tee times if you show up early, and everything is displayed easily for you to see, and to book. Starter was running the course smoothly, and then when you're out playing it's a lovely experience. Was surprised at how busy it was on a Tuesday morning , must get chaotic on the weekends. But overall a very fairly priced location with lots of great golf to be played.

Kids had great fun at the park playground. Playing at those inflatable bouncers are free and there are staff monitoring the kids which were really awesome! I can see there are also other outdoor courts for basketball volleyball etc. but we didn’t get a chance to try. Parking is easy and numerous picnic or bbq places. It’s our first time there but apparently it’s very popular- lots of people are having get-together there when we arrived.

Bethpage Black, what more needs to be said... The Jewel of several state-owned and operated golf courses is in great shape and ready to humble you if only you can get a tee time...

Nice playground. We didn’t explore the rest of the place but by driving in it looks like there is a lot of nice hiking through the woods. It is obviously nice because it is a state park. They charge during season.

Beautiful, serene, well kept park. We love to bring our little ones to the playgrounds, which are pretty awesome - makes me wish I was there size so I could get in on the action. There are also biking/hiking trails, a baseball field, a large lawn, picnic area with barbecues - and more. Of course, the other way, you have the golf course with the world renown Bethpage Black Course.

The park has plenty of space and isn’t often swarmed with people. There are plenty of spaces to play including basketball courts, a baseball field, horseshoe lanes, bocce court, and more. Definitely worth planning a day around. The grass could use some attention so be careful of those with trouble walking. Playgrounds are great and there is plenty of activities for kids to do while the adults relax.

I've been to plenty of tennis tournaments here with my daughter. Never disappointed, always keeps them moving and the courts are always ready to go. Bravo

Very nice and clean park. Great for hiking, cycling, & there is a playground for kids. Great clean public restrooms. For vehicle to park in the parking lot is $8. Came here for a family birthday picnic. Highly recommend.

Super experience, staff were very welcoming and efficient. Golf course was impeccable, the greens were a little slow, however there has been no rain for a month so they needed to be protected. Highly recommend!

There are great trails in the park. You can enjoy walking throuh the forest.

  • 4/5 Rosalie R. 1 year ago on Google
It a nice park. It's a nice playground as well as biking trail that is paved. There's also beautiful trails that are more in the woods. Beware that the trails are hilly and not super flat. Also you do need to pay for parking depending on time that you go.

  • 5/5 Scout C. 3 years ago on Google
There's a nice picnic/barbeque area with a lot of shade under the trees. The bike trail is also fun to ride along. Great place to come during the summer.

great place to kick back and go for a walk. Most trails in the woods are not really maintained that well , so make sure to wear sturdy footwear. Or if you choose to walk the paved paths, you will be sharing it with bikers and rollerbladers, but most people are pretty polite.

The black course is an excellent golf course, extremely well maintained. Big boys golf course. Fairways are magnificent, and the rough is challenging, not your regular golf course rough. Playing bethpage black is the most satisfying golfing experience there is.

DEER SIGHTING on purple trail! Yes, be careful-I had 2 deer sightings recently-one on 9/5 and one on 9/13, both on the purple trail but definitely 2 different deer because the second one was much smaller. I will avoid the entire area near those sightings until winter. Anyway, the park is great. Large trail system and good trail maintenance with pretty nice scenery.

Terrible operations. Impossible to get a tee time online. And if you would like to walk up for a time the club house opens at 4:30 and even if you want a 9:00 walk up time ever member of your group has to be physically present at 4:30. As a local golfer it is truly horrible that we cannot play here. I don’t even bother trying anymore. I would go anywhere else on the island. Save yourself the headache.

Played the Red course on Thursday, June 8th and it was, as usual, in impeccable condition. The day was simply perfect and was capped by a hole in one on the 17th hole. Amazing!!

The mountain biking trails are well maintained. Make sure to be aware of the hiking trails with white signage and enjoy the time on the trails. Lots of fun. Hit up evil friends for some good jump lines. Little bit of a tip where high socks to be protected against the ticks. Always do a check after the ride.

There is no better deal in public golf anywhere else. Five golf courses ranging from very good (Green and Yellow), great (Red and Blue) to bucket list worthy (Black) all at rock bottom prices. Tee times become available a week in advance but the best time to book is the night before. During the week walk up tee times are plentiful.

Every exit known to man was blocked off for your airshow. We saw the program, but missed the part that said to get there early. You explained everything that happened, but we just missed that part and I looked at the entire program before coming. Twice or three times. It was so frustrating to commute there and spend all the money and not see the airshow. See your construction trucks but nobody working. We understand it was full but was upset because we didn’t catch that one important part. Could y’all please highlight that part for future goers? We were sure bummed. Atleast we saw the blue angels fly over once in formation and land at the local airport. That was the highlight of our commute there and day. Thanks. #BethpageAirshow2022

Very good courses but it is literally impossible to reserve tee time thru online. That's why I only give 3 stars. Course condition is always good here

Absolutely the best public course in NYS. The Black is a a challenge to walk and will leave you loving golf and questioning your game before coming right back to do it again! The online tee system is only problem I have with the Bethpage State Park golf system. Hit fairways and have some fun!

$31 a player for twilight on top of $29 for a cart is ridiculous. When the cart doesn't even go off the cart path most holes......literally it stops you where ever their imaginary boundary likes are, and then forces you into reverse going about one mile per hour until you've left the imaginary restricted area. Not to bad of a course but everything else is enough to make this club get only 2 stars. Do better.

What a great place to bring the family together and have a wonderful picnic and then take a walk in the woods or just relax. Very clean and safe. It is connected to the green trail and also a great place to bring the bikes for a day if safe riding through the nature trail.

Went to a πŸ’’ ng at the Heritage Club. Beautiful place - perfect for a wedding . Food was great. I felt they might have been understaffed. How often do you see the father of the groom working his way through the waiting crowd to bring champagne back to the bridal suite.very nice place though and worth a look for a venue for a party.
