A great way to spend a few hours walking amidst nature yet not have to worry about tripping - 6.3 miles “there and back” from the parking lot at Mansfield Park over to Massapequa Lake and back. Hardly any elevation - great for a long stroll with the creek giving you company for most of it. Two tricky aspects - a lot of bikers, and the need to cross Sunrise Highway at the traffic light.

Hidden green space with walking and biking trails located just off Sunrise between Massapequa and Massapequa Park train stations. There's a small lot to park in. The bikeway follows the creek all the way up to Bethpage. There is also a walking trail that cuts through the woods. Several ponds within the preserve with birds and other wildlife. Pretty nice place for a few hours outdoors without having to drive too far.

Beautiful trails and nature to spend time in. Bike trails are maintained well, and the dirt hiking trails are clean, and the muddy ones have new wood walkovers. Here's some recent spring photos. I love waking my pup and riding my bike here. Just beware the weekends can become hectic as it is busy in the summer, and many people don't realize how to walk on the right side and it can be frustrating, so get out early in the summer. Here's some spring photos.

A small biological preserve in the midst of human noise. Great place to unwind and relax. Lots of wildlife find refuge here, please be respectful of the wildlife as they respect you.

This was an amazing, quiet, peaceful place. So much to do, there's trails, you can bike ride, you can fish. A great place to go even to just take in nature and all the wildlife that was there. The ducks and the swans had their babies they were very people friendly any photographer would love this spot any fisherman would love this spot. Go check it out.

I loveee this place! Around this time of the year is beautiful To see the swan and geese with the babies, Baltazaar the swan who owns the lake or at least thats what he believes lol gets very territorial to protect the babies... love going bird watching and just walking, relaxing, hiking, photographing, etc.

Awesome trails. Quite a maze in the off path trails. Could use a bit of cleaning to be honest. Just a helpful tip if everyone would bring a small little shopping bag with them and grabbed a few things off the ground it would be a beautiful community help. 🤗🤗

Would have been great except for some people on the trail. Dogs off the leash and nasty people telling my children riding the path to "get the "f" off the path. This is directed at 7, 8, and 11 year old kids. Beautiful ride otherwise.

Beautiful trail to walk or ride. Lots of people enjoying walks with their dogs, riding bikes, taking photos of the water and animals. Lot of milage too. Paved the whole way but plenty of optional off road trails.

👍👍 Nice baseball and soccer fields next to an entrance for the Massapequa preserve trail. There's parking but no restrooms.
