I stopped here for lunch after walking around Amityville and it was really good. I had a gyro platter and chicken soup and a very friendly waitress. I think she said it was only her second day. Nice diner and I would definitely go back.

The food, service and hospitality are great 👍 👌 😀. Covid-19 regulations are followed with plexiglass partitions and the customers aren't piled up on top of each other. Definitely get enough food 😋 for your belly and money 💰. Great place for the family or on a date. Very clean also. 😋😋😋😋😋

This place is the best! Everyone is so nice and it's cool to hear the regulars just sit and chat and talk about life. The food is great but, my favorite part was time traveling 20 years back in atmosphere. Also, they butter your toast for you which is amazing. I love this place!

the food was okay, lots of variety and decently good but I don’t think I would come back lol. The waiter was great, very kind and helpful. The onion rings were amazing for some reason. The menu on here is outdated, prices have gone up 5$ per dish. Buffalo wings have no sauce on them but are very crunchy and tasty. Portion size is okay, nothing crazy.

Nice little diner. Pretty standard menu. I got breakfast. Very happy with my omelette. Home fries were really good too as were the pancakes. Staff was very friendly. Place was clean. Will go back if I’m in the area.

It was my friend's birthday 🎁 and they treated us like royalty. We had only 3 in our small group and they rushed us to the front. The owner kept coming to our table saying that the birthday girl was 32 when she was sixty something. At the end they snuck up on her with a piece of 🍰 cake with a candle 🕯️ and yelled "Happy Birthday!". She was so surprised and we all laughed so much. Then the owner and the waiters sang "Happy Birthday dear customer". They had terrible voices but their heart was in it. Perfect celebration.

I mean it’s a diner so it has all the diner things but it’s a good diner. Friendly service. Great breakfast foods. Unending selection.

Just a great place to take your family! We're out of town, found Peter's diner, we had 10 in our family the 1st night. Everyone was very happy with the food and the service. We met up with the rest of our family and went back the next night with 14 in our party, again we were all impressed with the food and service. Thanks again.

Very cozy diner, with fast service and fare prices. Fried chicken on specials was delicious comes with soup, salad, side, coffee and dessert. I got split pea soup and it tastes great. I picked Cesar salad and it came out delicious. Coffee tasted average and short cake was fresh. 25$ for all. Soda will cost you $4,5. Definitely recommend this place 👍🏼

Food was excellent. We both got omelets and a side of corn beef hash. All of it was cooked how we requested and very fresh. Stagg seemed to be happy which is unusual nowadays.

Had such high hope for this place but they were ruined instantly. I ordered pancakes and they come with eggs and other sides if you choose and I did a pickup order. I got pancakes and eggs scrambled with cheddar cheeese. I wouldn't have minded if they wanted to put it on the side but putting it on top of the pancakes? Its ridiculous. I could have went somewhere and paid less

Pete's is an Amityville institution and doesn't need this review, but I'm writing it anyway. I am convinced this diner's kitchen is actually a portal to Narnia. There is simply no way a kitchen that small can turn a menu that big into perfect dish after perfect dish that quickly, without access to some sort of Deep Magic. The staff are all courteous and thoughtful, and if you're a regular, they'll never forget your coffee or tea preferences. Give them a visit, if you haven't already. This is a local diner done truly right.

Great food. Prices comparable to most diners. Service is the best. Many servers are bilingual (English & Spanish) which is great when you're out with friends who are more comfortable speaking Spanish.

Breakfast was ok. My family and I decided that we wanted a better breakfast than IHOP and was told about Peter's diner. The staff is friendly and the service is quick but the food was just- ok. I asked for my home fries to be prepared crisp but they weren't and my omlette was not tasty. My hubby asked for his waffles to be made soft and they were prepared crisp twice! The pork sausages were very good. I really wish it was better maybe this was a bad day for them...on the other hand, because of there good customer service- I will return.

Excellent, old but nostalgic, historical diner w a comfortable, cozy atmosphere. I love the long mural on one wall, that shows what Amityville used to look like as a seaport town. The food is definitely good homecooking, w casual and delicious meals. The employees friendly.

Friendly staff. The owner was walking around making sure everyone was satisfied. Nice portions and great taste. Old school atmosphere. A place to go when you want to have comfort food and a smile from your server.

SO: no huge tips, no education anymore: so sad! However, nice food. 1st of all: nice place with good and variated food. The owner's so nice and made us some jokes. Place called our attention on our visit in Amy and decided to enter. Good decision cause I repeat, we ate so nice with a perfect quality-price. Thing we just found (and I also work face to public) rude and impolite was the behavior from our waitress. Seemed to be a nice woman, feeling ready to make our lunch such a time to remember. That was until she checked her tip. I perfectly know how it works, but just imagining some servers give you a nice service ONLY to get more tips at the end, is just inacceptable and sad. I don't get how this could be a way to work, either your attention to customers is based on. A really shame for us, as long as we gave her $8 buck tip (JUST 2 plates). Was a nice % from the bill and the face she just turned once counted the tip -in front of us- was unbelievable. WAS NOT at all even able to say goodbye to us once leaving - at least the owner did. If that amount didn't made her happy, she better stay at home and not giving service. Tips are a subject to respect as customer is who decides. Quest is: which qty she expected to receive? $25? $40? More than the lunch? Still dunno if she had a bad day. Not forgiveable anyway. 15day stay in Nyc ANYONE gave us that type of attitude. However I insist: food was great and obviously that's not a review to not to go there and have a good time. Just be prepared if THE woman comes to you with her (initially) smile!
