Disgusting, over priced, cool food (Apparently from previous days) they literally stole my money $70 dollars for 2 regular lunches, and their excuse was.."you ordered luch with "Rabo" and also "current inflation" also, they charged almost $8 dollars tips for NOTHING For customers: If by mistake you choose this place, PLEASE ask for prices before ordering. Owner: That's not the way to threat customers, you should really be paying attention and making sure customers are satisfied, remember you are in business because and thank to your customers, do not forget that, and also make sure your staff is aware of this. I took my time to give you feedback as a business owner too, also make sure prices are visible so people can avoid the trick and damage the business's reputation.

Dominican Restaurant 5 is a Great Restaurant. Easy to see right off of Deer Park Avenue servicing Deer Park, New York and the adjoining areas of Suffolk County. Plenty of parking and a wheel chair accessible entrance. Cafeteria style preparations for the traditional dishes. Comfort food. Best Cuban Sandwich in all of Long Island.

I’ve found that area Dominican restaurant staff are some of the nicest people. The same is true for Dominican Restaurant 5. I ordered a chicken lunch meal with rice and beans and it came with two plantains and salad. The meal was $13. The food was good, but I wouldn’t say that the flavor was exceptional.

I was not a big fan of the food at this establishment. The outer exterior of the restaurant was run down and raggedy. The restaurant is listed as 1 dollar sign, so I shouldn't be expected too much from the appearance. However, the food was not exceptional cheap or delicious. The food was just alright. I won't be back there.

After reading all the previous comments, what I experienced makes sense. Sadly, In recent months the restaurant's food is not fresh, more like from days ago. I ordered two family meals when I got home; I threw away all of it; I was not trying to get sick. My order was over $120, and the receipt was not given to me; I guess so that I wouldn't see the extra charges, tips, or fees. The new staff is ghetto, so I can imagine what goes on in the back. I was a regular when the owners were in the restaurant, and the food was fresh each time. I will never go back. On behalf of previous customer reviews and me, tips are optional. We, as the customer, are not obligated to tip you; if we don't like your customer service, why should we tip? Tips are earned. Hopefully, you can turn your restaurant around before your staff destroys it. I'm Dominican and trust me this is not good.

The food was good and I was happy to find a decent Dominican food place nearby. I ate lunch there , however, and they added a 15% mandatory gratuity even though this is illegal and I only ordered at the counter- after which they brought me the food on plastic plates. Then I paid with a card that also had an additional fee, though this charge was not posted anywhere, and on the credit card charge they have a place requesting gratuity which could likely make the person paying tip twice if they don’t realize gratuity is already added. Overall, the food was good but the dining experience very poor, and this left a disappointing taste in my mouth after what had been a very exciting find.

Was there today February 16th 2022 & found a white worm in my food. I think it came from the oxtails I had. I showed it to the guy behind the counter & he said "I think it's meat" but it was clearly white with oxtail Gravy on it & looked & was shaped just like a fat white Maggot worm. He mushed it & threw it away. I will never eat here again 🤢

BE AWARE!! THIS PLACE WILL RIP YOU OFF. I went in with my girlfriend. I ordered the large circle platter, I asked for rice and 3 different meats. My girlfriend who simply did not want rice asked for the smaller circle platter with the same 3 meats that I had but no rice. The manager/owner says to us that if she’s going to order those 3 meats by themselves, each meat has to go in separate even smaller containers. It didn’t make sense to us because the amount that was separated in each container could have easily been put in the first small container she asked for, but so far whatever. We go to check out, the manager/owner takes my card and puts my debit card into the reader and that’s when I looked down and it was $47.21!!! I couldn’t believe it! Essentially, we got 1 large latter ($15.99) and her portion of meats easily fit into the small size platter or less. When I questioned the manager/owner, he told me he rung up each tiny container for about $9 each. It was absurd!!!! This should have been no more than $20 to $25 worth of food. It seems they force you to put each tiny portion of meat in separate containers to purposely charge a crazy amount separately. My girlfriend’s 3 tiny containers were STILL less food than I had in mine and somehow those 3 tiny containers cost nearly $30!!!!! Stay clear of this place or keep a good eye when they swipe your card!!

The place look run down at the entrance. Gave them a chance i ordered 2 unseasoned chicken with rice and beans salad, not only I got the run and gave my cousin food poison as well. Will be calling health department soon as they open. I hope its not salmonella

Well, I'm not used to doing this, but it's necessary for people to know, I used to buy there, but once I went with my husband to eat, and he realized that when they print the receipt, they don't visibly indicate that they automatically put the tip so those who go there can't see it and they tip more than ideal, it seems to me that they are doing very badly because while people are doing the right thing in tipping they are stealing from customers in this way, no happy with that, my husband came back because he let him know and he went back to buy something else and the lady attended him with attitude I really do not recommend that kind of business

Food is ok, just like any other Dominican Bodega. The price are just crazy!!! They charge like if it is a high-end restaurant. For rice, beens, a little salmon and green salad =$33. Might us well drive down the road to Punta Cana and spend less for a real restaurant.

This is a nice spot. Cozy, great portions, pricing is fair and desert is available on site. Parking is good and service is also good. Great value for the portions.

I decide to review due the price I paid for a lunch to go $21.00 it was mangu, 3 eggs, protein and potato salad. I get food almost out very day and never pay that much for that kind of lunch. Check other reviews people complain about the place overprices. I decided to edit my review due the owners replay that was very rude and unprofessional now I understand why the place it’s like that. Owner don’t forget that customers have the right to complain and if don’t listen to them you can not run a restaurant. I am an bussiness owner and had several years experience working in restaurant that gives me the position to feedback places that I visit. I don’t run a restaurant now but in my bussiness prices are according to the marketplace in my area and are adjusted accordingly every year always my priority is not to affect clients pockets.

Food is always good from here. Make the trip when I want good Dominican food.

Great meals, feeds a family of 3-4. I usually buy 2 so we can have variety!! Kids love the boneless chicken and we love the pernil. Rice and beans are always delicious.

Have been going here for years now & the food is always good, the prices can get up there depending what you get but the portions were always big. Sorry to say I went today & got soo much less food in the container than usual. I also saw they tack on a charge for a card but that’s literally illegal now. I was gonna go back to complain but it’s not worth it. I’ll eat this limited amount of food which won’t even satisfy 1 person (used to feed 2) and after they move their store I’ll call 1st to ask about prices & portions before going back again. Sad to see.

We order delivery to work once in a while, we've always had a pleasant experience, it is a bit pricey but the portions are very generous.

Not what it use to be. Ordered ox tail which is great there but 75% was all bones. Not to mention very expensive there. Never again.

Today April 2 /22 I when to this restaurant to buy lunch and regret to go there the food is horrible and it have no taste and in top of all that very expensive and the place is look dirty I will never buy food from this place again sorry I feel they stole my money

I have not been here in a while but the food was as great as I remembered. They give you so much food that you have to tell them to stop. I had the oxtails and it was delicious.

Food is underwhelming. Service is terrible. Staff is too busy on their phones to get your food ready. They start your order once you arrive even when you call it in. Not worth the wait or rudeness from the staff.

Pricier than other places around, decent food but they not so happy when you ask for an order the way you want it. Remember customer is always right. Is really bodega good at restaurant price.

I order from this spot when I don’t feel like cooking but kids like Juan make me think twice. My order was wrong when I got home and when I called to complain the boy had the never to argue with me on what I ordered and hung up on me… Not to have a delivery person and now having kids take order where did the customer service go. I would definitely think twice about ordering from this restaurant again….

I've been to a few Twxas Roadhouses and this one is managed so well it seems seamless. The management team is top notch. They kept a busy summer night flowing, communicated well and checked on tables personally. Awesome job, highly recommend for an easy-going, relaxing night out. Food was cooked exactly how requested, bread was flowing. Our waiter were a really friendly guy, checked on us often remembered refills, was really nice to my grandkids. Upfront staff was super organized.
