Best place to part to ride your bike to Jones beach or out to Captree.

Overall good park... Although the park was busy that day, the men's restroom was clean. However, If you're planning on using the park's grills for cooking , I'd suggest you bring spray can oven/grill cleaner and potable water. Scrub and then rinse off all rust and carbonized grease before you start cooking new food. I was at this park because the Long Island Retro Gaming Expo had a barbecue for its volunteer workers. This gave me an opportunity to examine other grills.. They were very heavily soiled.

From this park there's an entrance to Jones Beach State Park bike path, a 5-mile long bike path down south to Jones Beach. Great place with many parking lots and activity fields.

Really close to the start of 5 mile bike path to Jones beach. Has too many playgrounds to take pictures without getting a kid in it at field 5 parking lot. Bring bikes and scooters to scoot around the playground area… perfect spot to do so safely until they can bike on bike path. Can follow my reviews on google and IG at seekadventureunder5

Beautiful park with many options for children. I did not get to fully explore the entire park, but from what I saw, we will be back. The bathrooms and part were very clean.

Fantastic park to have a small picnic or even a very large get together under a gazebo. You need to rent and reserve the gazebos but it's not too expensive.the have access to one of the best selections of different sports fields around and plenty of playgrounds. There is also access to one of the best pedestrian paths on long island which can be used to walk, run skate or bicycle all the way to Jones beach. Perfect

Gorgeous park near Wantagh/Seaford. There are a dozen 'fields' which are zones you can get a permit for events at for smaller parties and events, and the areas around the park are pretty well maintained. Biggest complaint is that any bathrooms you might need can be a bit of a hike from your field depending on which one you choose, otherwise the grass, lots, tables and pavilions are all kept, and perfect for get togethers and picnics. I was told there would be a $10 charge to park but never ended up being charged, so that may only be for certain hours.

Stopping at this park, at the end of the day, was a nice way to finish a work day. Also very pretty at sundown

The place is well monitored for safety so that a major plus! I go for archery, which is all year round and in a nice nook away from other psrk guests . The people are always kind and courteous. The park is clean from what I can observe . Family friendly, pet friendly, and people friendly .

Great park. Very clean and spacious. The circular route gets you easily and quickly to every venue, and is excellent to bike around. Plenty of fields and courts, and the playground is perfect for the kids. Haven't tried the archery range yet, probably will someday. We visit during the week, could imagine it gets busy the weekends but there's a lot of parking and so much space don't think it would be a problem. Highly recommended for a variety of sports and recreation.

We were hear for our kids soccer game, very nice park and fields. Was nicely kept, bathrooms where right near the fields and clean.

I love riding my bike at Cedar Creek. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the entire route is completely flat. If that’s what you’re into then it’s perfect. I just wish there was more elevation to it. But it’s pretty good for a 40 mile bike ride.

Something for everyone. Archery, tennis, playground, biking. We often bike starting here down Wantagh Pathway and then along Ocean Parkway. Lots of parking available but it can still get really crowded. Be careful parking on the grass because they will give tickets sometimes.

Nice park to play softball/ baseball, soccer, and many other sports. Have a few good hills for slay riding in the winter. But I and many other bicycle riders use it as the start of a nice bike trip to the beach. You can stop at Jones Beach, Tobay, and even as far as Captree. It is a beautiful ride when it isn't extremely windy.

Beautiful spot, and a great biking trail 🚵

  • 5/5 Cameron B. 2 years ago on Google
Great quality park. It has a lot to do, with picnic areas, fields, trails, and more. I especially like the bike path that goes from the park all the way to Jones Beach. Just know that depending on the time of day you go, the path can be quite windy, since it is so close to the ocean. This can make it harder to bike to the beach. Overall though, the park is great, and it is kept in great shape too.

This park has so much to do. The playground is fun for all ages. The rink is great for young kids who are just learning to ride skates and bikes. The soccer fields and tennis courts are well maintained. There is a dog park (which has a bit too much dirt and dust for my fluffy dogs). The hills are perfect for sledding in the winter and there are plenty of spots to picnic and barbecue. I almost forgot, there is an outdoor archery range which is a rare gem on long island.

Always a great place to bring the kids. My grandsons love the playground and climbing the hills.

  • 3/5 Michael A. 1 year ago on Google
Great variety of playgrounds and options for children of varying ages. The only reason I didn't give it four stars is because there is some distance between playgrounds and the swings are bent to the point that smaller children can't be secured safely.

The entrance to a beautiful 20 mile ride to Captree via Jones Beech. And another 20 miles back. Ride early. It gets hot.

Nice little park. Not much to do here in terms of walking scenery. Good place to take the kids in the summer with the water feature.

  • 5/5 Tara M. 1 year ago on Google
My husband and I were both riding on his scooter all around the park and the scenery was awesome! I love the curving paths and I love how there's a variety of activities you can do. I definitely recommend this park, especially if you own a scooter. Cheers!

Cedar Creek Park is the starting point for the beautiful Jones Beach bike path but the park itself has a picnic area, children's playground, ballparks, dog park and lots more. It has great parking areas too.

  • 5/5 Edward C. 1 year ago on Google
Very nice park, the Multi Use Path goes all the way to Jones Beach and from there it changes names and goes east all the way to Captree. Its 5 miles to Jones beach. There is a water fountain and bathroom not far from the start of the path.

As you enter the park, you are greeted by lush greenery and well-maintained grounds, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. The park boasts extensive walking and biking trails that wind through the picturesque landscape, allowing you to immerse yourself in nature's beauty. Lots of activities to do, not usually too crowded, includes the start of the Jones Beach Bike trail (and is also not too far from the Bethpage Bikeway as well). Overall, solid 5 stars.

Cedar Creek Park is physically in Wantagh Park. This is such a special place. Words don’t do justice in describing how amazingly special these parks are. Ok let’s start with Wantagh park. Firstly they charge during the season. Drive all the way to the end. There are docks with many boats. There is an amazing area to jog or walk around with amazing views. I once saw a photo shoot here for clothing or something like that. They have so many areas there to eat at and a fun gazebo with a nice path leading to it. They have a water park which costs additional money. This place is huge which multiple courts and fields for every sport. There are many playgrounds here. There are two main areas where they are located. The main area has a lot of playgrounds which are spread out and outdated, but are still fun. Many of these playgrounds are on sand. I’m not sure if when you go to Cedar Creek after you need to pay again or if there is one entrance fee for both Cedar Creek and Wantagh Park because we never pay for parks. Now Cedar Creek Park has a lot there including archery. There playgrounds are arguably the best on long island which says a lot. The people there are so friendly and nice and chilled. They have a big hill there that my kid likes climbing up and running down.

Nice park, good soccer/football fields. Tennis and handball courts. Good picnic areas, playgrounds, rollerblading rink and dog run park. The bicycle path to the beach starts here and decent restrooms. The softball fields are lacking. Plenty of parking.

Big beautiful park. Seems overly popular and crowded on the day I was there. Parking was a premium. Soccer fields are not at field 1 and 2 parking. Must drive much further around the loop and spot on right side. Popular with Bicycle riders too.

Nice park (but the faint smell of sewage deducts a star) with tons of parking. Entry point to bike to Jones Beach which is the star of the show.

  • 4/5 Woofiemac 3 years ago on Google
Get there early as there might not be parking left. My wife and meet with our friend for a scenic bike ride. Plenty of space at the parking lot is always best, but the bike path was really overcrowded and almost one gentleman collided with a bike headed the opposite direction, thankfully, no one was hurt.

Great place to bike, do archery(bring your own equipment), or just walk around. Unlike most outdoor places they have a hill behind it so you aren't digging through the bushes looking for your arrows.
