👍👍 Great local area to take in some nature. Good for walks or just plain sightseeing. Would definitely recommend coming here in the summer/fall. There's a baseball field across the street and an entrance to a nature path right by the cross island south as well. People often mention lake, walk, beautiful, swans, park, nature, path, Beautiful, turtles, Great,

Beautiful lake . One of the most underrated scenic spots in new york city. Right next to queensbourgh community college. Great for a walk or a run alone or with your pups 🐶 cone at sunset and at certain points you can see gorgeous swans!!!!! Right across the road is a hiking trail too. Lots of benches throughout the whole loop of the lake which is about a mile long 🤔

What a gem of a place. Experienced it while it was raining. Went in from the side road, there is a tiny trail with a short incline. The lake is alive with, ducks, geese and swans. Went around the lake twice at a slow pace, stayed about an hour, looking forward to come back.

Top notch spot for walking. Lake is beautiful, with lily pads, turtles, a family of swans, and willows weeping along the edges. Path is flat and well maintained. Good tree cover on most of the path , so not too hot in the sun. Benches sprinkled in to take a rest. If I lived closer I'd probably walk here every day as the sun sets.

Oakland Lake is one of my favorite places to be. The small and beautiful lake is surrounded with many benches. Beautiful trees and some flowers. The abundance of birds in this place is a bird lovers dream. You can hear the many blue jays from all around. There is a beautiful swan family that lives there. The baby swan was born in early spring of 2020 and is now really big and beautiful.

Absolute hidden jem. Not too crowded normally and such a beautiful little walk. Around a mile walk around the lake so perfect. Theres also usually swans and water fowl there! Perfect little benches and trees to post up a hammock or have a wee picnic date. Highly recommend 😇

A very pretty local park with a small lake. People come to walk or 'fish and release'. The lake attracts turtles, swans, geese and ducks. There is a .6 mile trail around the lake which we walk twice to get a little exercise in while taking in the tranquil oasis.

Beautiful tree adorned urban escape with a nicely paved path around a large pond. There are benches to admire the swans, ducks and turtles. No bathrooms, about 1/3 mile loop walk.

Hidden gem with a nice short 15-20 minute walk around the lake. Walk path is a bit narrow and shaded with trees.

got there before the storm hit and and left just before it started had chance to get some very nice fall photos colors were just about at peak, afraid the wind & rain will wash most of the foliage down/off, was quite worth while

Been walking this park since I was kid. My grandmother used to take me here as a respite from city life. Offering gorgeous views of the pond at every turn, the tree-lined path also provides ample shade, making the trek bearable even on the steamiest summer days. Look out for the swans on the southwest corner, who've built a veritable palace of a nest amongst the reeds. Love this place. When I'm in town, I walk the path every morning I am able.
